Autumn Colours I New Zealand April 6-9 2012 Queenstown Centre for Creative Photography
Autumn Colours I New Zealand April 6-9 2012 Queenstown Centre for Creative Photography www.qccp.co.nz Mike Langford and Jackie Ranken take a small group of eight photographers to photograph two of their favourite Photographic destinations. Annette van Heerden, Sue Stevely, Mike O’Sullivan, Chris Fawcett, Desiree Fairbairn, Melanie O’Sullivan, Catherine Johnson and Deanie Johnstone. Macetown is an historic gold mining area. We travel 16kms in our 4WD’s, fording the Arrow river 22 times and arrive what remains of the settlement. These early settlers plated the trees that in April each year are in full colour. The road through the Skippers Canyon was built in 1883, many years after the initial gold was discovered in 1862. The Shotover river that winds it’s way though this canyon was referred to as ‘One of the richest rivers in the world’. For us as photographers this time of year is gold, gold, gold!
