QCCP Kinloch Landscape Workshop 2012

Kinloch Landscape Photography Workshop 2012 Tutors EOS Masters Mike Langford and Jackie Ranken The objectives of this photography workshop was to work from an understanding of the principals of design. Design being our visual vocabulary, our alphabet, our tools for visual expression. The group were encouraged to develop their own way of seeing and were encouraged to explore new techniques as well as refine the old fundamentals of photographic composition. Line, direction, shape, size, texture, value and colour are the building blocks of art structure, they are the alphabet or scale of graphic expression. When an artist/ photographer organizes these elements he/she is creating design or composition. Light against dark and visa versa... In the visual arts; repetition, harmony, contrast and unity are essentially identical with music, poetry, literature and ballet. The broader the platform of knowledge, the higher we can grow.
