FFor whatever reason showstopping spaces entice you, be it inspiration, beauty, or intrigue… we agree. The Home & Design Issue is one of my favorites to put together each year simply because I get to pour through a dearth of new builds, remodels, and interior overhauls. These spaces may call to you as ones you’d love to inhabit, or visit, or that push your boundaries of what you thought a home could look like. We hope you’ll find something in these pages that calls to you.

Gerrard Builders

Team: Gerrard Builders, Builder | Carolina Design Associates, Interior Designer | Frank Smith Residential Design, Architectural Designer

Primary Goal:

We wanted to be sure this wasn’t an unused room, like so many living room spaces. We tried to add some really cool features such as the curved walls and the linear fireplace, to make it a space that really draws you in. It didn’t take long after moving that we found this room to be our favorite room in the house to hang out and watch TV in!

Artistic Interior Design

Team: Amy N. Lee, Owner/Lead Designer | Lindsey Jones, Senior Designer

The Design: Timeless, elegant with hints of glam.

Primary Goals: To create an open, balanced kitchen that incorporates several appliances that aren’t visually apparent at first glance. The hidden scullery door keeps the cabinetry flowing without interrupting the layout with a cased door opening and conceals a second refrigerator and coffee bar. Incorporating the black/white inset doors into the cabinetry, black “X” ceiling detail and Arabescato marble brought in the wow factor we were trying to achieve.
