Bagni di Bormio A magnificent resort in the heart of the Stelvio National Park with over 2.000 years of well-being experience in the eighth century five star Grand Hotel, or the four star medieval Hotel along with two Spas, the Ancient Baths and the New Baths, a stone’s throw away from each other.
The masterpiece on the front cover, a work of Paolo Galetto, is the iconographic representation of the Bormio basin, at the foot of Mount Reit. Watercolour is the form of art most suited to us for its use of water, our precious element.
Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi Opened in 1836, today the Grand Hotel stands as a jewel of liberty architecture, in an atmosphere of the Grand Era and the splendour of the Central European eighth century nobility. The great halls and sitting rooms are richly decorated with ornate stucco and frescoes and the faรงade is of Venetian Gothic style. The great halls on the ground floor evoke, still today, the characteristic feeling of the grand hotels in the Alps of the last century.
The Hotel has 74 spacious and bright bedrooms, finely furnished with antique furniture, each one unique, with bathrooms in white Carrara marble equipped with hydro massage jacuzzi baths using thermal spring water.
Hotel Bagni Vecchi Hospitium balneorum xenodochio, formerly a castle and later a convent, its every detail marks an era. The “Castle Baths” and the ancient “Serra Fortress” were transformed into a hotel in 1826. With the soon after opening of the Stelvio Pass, the hotel became the destination for a relaxing holiday for the Imperial Austrian Court.
The Hotel Bagni Vecchi is a romantic hotel offering a typical alpine ambient, of medieval origin. Perched in a privileged position, it boasts wonderful views of the incomparably beautiful valley. There are 36 bedrooms, including two suites furnished with antique furniture, in the heart of the Stelvio National Park.
