Our Problem …

1.  There are 84 million Nigerians between the age of 15 and 35.

YOUTH

+ DANCE

= Endless Opportuni/es

2.  34 million of them are unemployed, two third of this figure are between 15 and 24. 3.  How do we transform this @cking @me bomb into a historic opportunity through dance?

Inves;ng in the PROBLEM. Dance as a passionate exercise has proven to be an interes/ng endeavour that creates concrete engagement for young people. The SOLUTION that our approach to DANCE brings, is already crea/ng a shiF in emphasis, and will eventually result in new job crea/on within the youth market and crea;ve economy.

Our Objectives …

To be the leading professional dance company in Nigeria, offering full /me employment to ar/sts, and crea/ng thought provoking, entertaining and dis/nc/ve performing arts content.

To provide cer/fied dance training that meets interna/onal standards, for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced levels.

To be an incubator, crea;ve hub and fun place for dance professionals, amateurs and social dance lovers alike.

To be a dance center that presents quality live performances and community engagements, for local and interna/onal audiences.

To leverage on exis/ng partnerships with the global dance community, and be the bridge for collabora/ons between interna/onal and na/onal dance ar/stes.

Our Market… Dance Demography In the last 20 years, Nigeria has witnessed a radical upsurge in the crea/ve industry, which began with the success of Nollywood. The industry now plays a significant role in crea/ng jobs and engagement to young people all over the na/on. Unemployment amongst young people between 15 and 24 years is s/ll on the high side, this age range are however, the ones now massively involved in the dance industry. As we speak there is approximately 2 million dancers spread all over Nigeria, and the just concluded TV show ‘Dance with Peter’ aZests to this figure. The talents, the crea/ve energy and the numbers we already have, what is lacking in this sector that is growing rapidly, and wai/ng to explode, is simply

investment.

Existing Partners We are able fund our ac/vi/es through income from exis/ng projects, interna/onal tours and support from our mother company in Paris. We have equally enjoyed both the material and financial supports from our friends, family and the following partners in Nigeria.

Upcoming Projects. Our latest crea/on is ‘We Almost Forgot’, it falls under QDance Ar/s/c as well as QDance Talents, it is a project carried out through our mother company YK Projects, to enable interna/onal coproduc/on. This project marks a landmark in our achievement, and it is already billed for a major interna/onal tour aFer its premiers in Berlin, Lagos, Abuja and Paris.

Another major project we are working on this year, is the launch of TheStage.ng. A web magazine project designed to address the need for a ‘one spot plahorm’ where audiences can get adequate informa/on about what’s on stage where. An independent plahorm, which gives offers a space to professional views, audience reviews and primarily dedicated to be a support system for the growing performing arts sector.
