Welcome Friends, I want to start like I always do by thanking you for your time and interest in our program. Most importantly, I want to that my family for supporting me because without them, this all would be pointless. I am excited about this years' offering for many reasons, but the one that stands out is the way our composite cattle, and our "composite" of consignors have come together. I think as you go through the cattle here, you will find a solid set, with many sale features, depending on where you place your preference. This has been a crazy year throughout the United States and this operation was not exempt. We have been very fortunate with more than adequate moisture and a great harvest season. The fall has thrown us many curves, and I want to thank you for your patience in our rescheduling. With harvest the way it was, and the cattle scattered out, we felt it best to move back a few weeks. I hope this works better for everyone. I welcome your input, as we need you on the seats and want to accommodate you. I have always been a believer in the Simmental Maine-Anjou, and Chianina Breeds. I like the way our industry is going, and am very happy with this sale offering. Our bred females, as usual, have not been pampered. They are managed to go out and make money for their new owner. We have not stuffed a bunch of corn down them, we have stuffed a bunch of genetics into them. We feel you can take these heifers home and make money with them. If we didn't, we would not have them in this sale! Buy with confidence, we will be in the market for the offspring, and you will be in the driver's seat with them in your pens. Give us a call if you have any questions, and let me know what I can do to help. Thanks again for your interest! Respectfully, Tim Burke

Saturday, December 3, 2011 We invite you to join us anytime Saturday to view the cattle and enjoy the excellent cooking provided by Michael Lobato and Larry Duran.

This mating has been the exictment of calving season for Genna and myself for the past two years. The three sibs sold well a year ago and were campaigned successfully by the Wagner and Vogt families this past show season. Jake’s steer won his class at the Colorado State Fair and Brooke’s made the sale in Kansas City. Hard decision to let this one go with Kassidy starting to show and wanting to compete. Monopoly and Carly in the pedigree and Maine and Chi registered. Did I say the best steer of the three is yet to show at a major. Opps...forgot he will be in Denver. I clip...you decide. I never thought I’d put together a sale and end up with only 1 High percentage Maine heifer! And then have her consigned! We had a lot of bulls this year. That’s good because we are going to have a bull sale, but I had to call Jason and get a good Maine for the sale! He brought us one that will be a contender next summer in Lima! like her name implies, “Show her like ya stole her” Consigned by SJ Show Cattle

Simmental Bred Sired Heifers We are startting the bred heifers with a super set of Simmental influence females. Tuscan is the many time Champion bull Dale Phelps found and I bought into 2 years ago. The females out of him are tremendous. They milk well, are very sound and soft made. He is sired by SHS Enticer. Also noteworthy are the lot 80 and 81 daughters. We just don’t sell that kind very often.

I found this bull last spring at the Grass and Grid bull sale. There were several reasons I bought him, but what stands out to me are the Patton daughters in production here, the low birthweight, and the stout, balanced confirmation. We have obviously came in to a time where moderation in frame score is a must. Performance and efficiency cannot take a back seat. I felt this bull was a logical place to go next with our Maine-Anjou program, as well as our cowherd.

GRASS TO GRID

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION SALE

Thursday, December 29, 2011 Lexington, NE

We feel fortunate to be able to offer you a new marketing tool and a great source of high quality known pedigree, commercial females. We are going to be teaming up with our good friends John Griswold and Jeff Bourquin to bring you and excellent set of females from our customers as well as our programs. The Griswold Grass to Grid program is second to none. We are excited to be helping them put on a commercial female sale Thursday, December 29th, 2011, at the Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, NE. While Jeff and John are committed to continue to conduct a sale of this kind in Texas and Oklahoma, I have been looking for a way to market this kind of cattle and program in Nebraska for quite some time. We are going to do our best to make this a viable option for many commercial cattlemen to use as a main source for quality replacement heifers, Bred heifers, and cows every year. We feel with our combined efforts, we will be able to offer approximately 1500 head on the sale in Lexington, Dec 29th. The Grass to Grid cattle are eligible for the Duff Cattle Co.’s Premium Beef programs. This is without a doubt one of the most, if not the most progressive and profitable marketing alliance in the country. The availability of data on your cattle and the aggressive buy back program make this a valuable tool for the commercial and the seedstock producer alike. For specific information on Premium Beef go to www.premiumbeef.com. These guys mean business! They will help you market your cattle no matter how you choose to do it. I would encourage you to get to know Jeff Bourquin. Jeff purchases over 50,000 calves a year and has the knowledge to work with both producer and feedlot operator to get the most out of the cattle for everybody. I have no doubt you will be impressed and excited about the cattle marketing opportunities he has to offer. I am excited about this new project. This is something I feel can be of great benefit to all my customers as well. I am actively looking for consignments and buyers every day. There are many different avenues to take. I feel confident that we can find a way to get more money for your calves and positively effect your bottom line! Jeff Bourquin 806-886-3145
