Burke Female Sale 15

Page 1

Greetings from the Burke Ranch! Thank you for taking the time to check out our offering. I want to welcome our new sale partner Dave Strolberg from Axtel, NE. Dave is no stranger to the industry and I’m sure most of you reading this already know him, if not personally, by his reputation for selling great cattle. Dave and I are working together not only with bringing you these heifers, but also with an extensive embryo transplant program emphasizing in high quality replacement females and donor quality cows in large numbers. When I started gathering these heifers off summer pasture, I wasn’t sure what to think. Needless to say around here, the sorting gate works well and Kevin and I are not afraid to use it! I guess the saying, you have to walk before you fly, applies here. I wanted to have this sale offering bigger than it is. We feel quality has to come first and we both culled hard and this group is the result of strict sorting. We are all confident in the quality of this offering and are excited for you to see them. Kevin Bremer and I are probably as critical as anyone sorting them. If they don’t suit us, they won’t suit you either. They represent the best of all our programs and are bred to go to work for you right away. This is the beginning of an offering that you will be able to continue to count on every year. This marks our 24th year of sales at the ranch. There are many things that have changed since we started, but I believe the one thing that always stays the same is the ability for our cattle to go out and make money for our customers. I hope you can be with us on the 1st. If you can’t, please make use of our consultants and sale management. They are all very familiar with the cattle and are here because they are my colleagues in the order buying and consulting business and they are some of the best in the business and they see them like I do. I want to thank them all for their hard work and friendship and I can assure you, they will send you what you want. There is little room for guesswork in the cattle business, take advantage of their abilities. At press time we are scheduled to video these cattle in the subzero weather the end of the week. Use the videos as a tool, but we highly recommend you contact the sale staff to assist you as well. I also need to say a special THANK YOU to the two most important people in my world, Cody and Morgan Burke. They are the best partners I could ever ask for and they do an awesome job helping at the ranch and with the cattle. They are the reason I do this, and I can’t thank them enough! Thank You for Your Interest! Tim Burke

We always try to start our sale with what we feel is a combination of eye appeal, breeding, and the future of our program. This female is going to have a 3/4 Simmental heifer by one of the best new bulls out there. The homework is done and the guesswork is taken out of the equation. She is backed by a powerful “6807 Angus female on the bottom side of her pedigree, and calving in February. This female will make money for her new owner.

Lot 1

Ranch tag 304 Broker X 6807 Angus Ultra sounded safe, due 2/10 to Uno Mas (sexed heifer) Burke Ranch / Dave Strolberg

Service Sire ~ Select Sires Uno Mas

Cowmen gather round and get serious! This is a powerhouse donor female. A powerful Broker 3/4 daughter from Strolberg Farms. This is the kind of female you can build around. I love the shape and softness of this female. She’d be good in any breed, and will work mated a lot of different ways. Likely bred easy calving Angus, but still calving in mid-March, this is a real opportunity selling here! Selling half interest and possession, with the option to double the hammer price and own full interest. If buyer opts to purchase full interest, Strolberg Farms reserves the right to one successful flush, minimum of 6 grade one embryos, at sellers’s expense and buyers convenience

Lot 2

Ranch tag 320 Broker X In Dew Time AI’ed to Titan 5/13 Vet checked safe Due 3 /14 to Baseline son (Angus) Dave Strolberg

Due to the cattle coming from 2 separate ranches, preg checking was done differently at each place. The Burke cattle were ultra sounded by Les Hutchens from Reproduction Enterprises, Stillwater, OK. The Strolberg cattle were Ultra sounded early by Dr Jeremy Van Boning and rechecked by arm by the Holdrege Vet Clinic. Some of the cattle were too close to call. Assume they are safe to the cleanup bulls, but we provided their AI dates for your convenience.

These Broker daughters are breed leaders. Awesome OCC Legend dam backing her up. This is a beautifully made, well constructed heifer that will make a great cow. This one could sure go a lot of different ways in the AI chute. She’s the kind that will lay down and have a heifer that will start any sale in the country. Breed her Simmy, or put a shot of Whiskey in her, these are the kind that are fun!

Lot 3

Ranch tag 383 Broker X Legend Angus AI’ed to Bismarck 5/13 Vet checked safe, Due 3 /14 to Baseline son (Angus) Burke Ranch / Dave Strolberg

Your bids will be handled with complete confidentiality and we can arrange to have the cattle delivered to your farm or ranch. Contact Kevin Mears at 937-533-0169

If you are looking for big bellied easy doing power-cows, start your load with her. She’s bred to our new purebred Angus herdsire from Brent Murphy, “MCC Macho Man 1202”. We are excited to get some of these, study his pedigree and picture in the reference sires, you will be too. She calves right up early to him and we are excited to see the calves out of him. Remember, we are always looking to buy our genetics back or help you market them. Bid with conference on these ladies.

Driver Daughters

Driver is without a doubt the most consistent Simmental bull we have ever used. I can’t say enough good about them in the pasture. We use him extensively and have also bought and sold truck loads of them. He is one of the very best bulls to send one “sight-unseen” to. They are great milking with perfect udders. They are also very versatile in how you can utilize them in your breeding program.

Without their dedication and hard work here, we would never be able to get it all done. My sincere and humble thank you guys, I appreciate it more than I could ever say!
