design philosophy.

“... to create artworks from my heart, ... to unencumbered by rational thought” I’m intereated in an experimental and personal dialogue with the contrariety of concepts and their relation to each other. They are opposite yet complementary, they are dynamic but in harmony. For me, making jewelry is a medium for expressing my feeling and thoughts. The natural surroundings have been generously offering inspiration to me works. I want to present the beauty and philosophy around us.

In Motion.

chapter. 1 I was deeply attracted to Loie Fuller’s “Serpentine Dance”. Her swirling silk created a fantacy world of light plays. Her liquid movements were able to manipulated fabrics into abstract sculptural forms.

1. In Motion Ring Collection

In Motion collection

In this collection, I tried to capture the beauty of both the dancer body’s figure and its motion. These rings which are formed similar to sculptures.

In Motion.

I use wax sheet to build up these flowing shapes based on cutting, joining, bending, folding, looking for symmetery, asymmetry and reptition. All these physical actions directly affect the material defining the flow of shape and setting the language that describe part of the content. 9

DUNE.

chapter. 2 Dune is a beautiful contradition. It’s simple and complex, it’s peaceful and violent, it is always the same, never the same. It is endlessly fasinating for me.

Dune collection

This collection derives from natural forms. My shapes can represent an idea of a captured movement, as a flowing form curling around itself. Dunes appeal to me and results in my continuous exploration with different variations, soft but precise edges, concave surface shifting to convex. My idea of composition in three dimentions is all about seeking balance and harmony from every angle.

Desert Flower. chapter. 3 When I started being interested in desert landscape and looking for inspirations, Georgia O’keeffe’s works captured my eyes. I was attracted to the shamanic quality that O’keeffe had. I was trying to explore the relationship between feminity and nature.

15

Flowers are perhaps the most feminine of artistic symbols . This collection is about depicting flowers through abstracting the natural world.
