Compact and Inclusive Neighbourhood

to Enhance Harmonious Socail Network

As urban development strategy is transferred from "agglomerated development" to "distributed development", the unbalance of work and life cause social problems in TKL community. It is proposed a compact and inclusive neighbourhood community to enhance living quality of residents. Through mixed use and intensive development around metro stations, the project is to improve the accessibility of office, residence, leisure facility and other. With the concept of people-oriented, the community is equipped with public priority transportation to regulate the residents' mobility preference, realizing the positive interaction between urban traffic and urban development.

Introduction

The metropolitan area mainly includes Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Comparing the population structure and land use, Tseung Kwan O has a large ratio, reflecting pressure on regional transportation. Hong Kong's railway system comprises nine MTR lines, the GZ-SZ-HK Express Rail Link, the Airport Express Line, and the regional Light Rail. Railways are the backbone of Hong Kong's public transportation system, carrying 39% of the daily capacity. The population particularly flows between Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, and the New Territories. Four railway lines carry the traffic pressure from the TKO.

In terms of road transport, the new town has the one existing TKO Tunnel to the out, resulting in serious traffic congestion.

Story of commuters Concept

Early urban development was concentrated in the metropolitan area. As the population boomed, the central areas were under tremendous pressure in transportation, community facilities, infrastructure, and environment. The Tseung Kwan O has a higher density of residences due to its location. But the other type of land use is insufficient. A large number of residents spend hours commuting, greatly increasing the traffic pressure. At the same time, the demographic imbalance has created other social problems.

The separation of occupation and residence deprives commuters of lots of time. With the intense work environment, there is less time left for sleeping. At the same time, time deprivation also causes other social problems, like Loneliness among old people. When they need help, there is no family to ask for help.

In terms of child development and education, the absence of parents tends to leave children unhappy childhood, which is detrimental to their psychologically healthy development. There are few public spaces in residence, with poor quality. The community center cannot gather crowds under poor management. The kids and the old need to take the subway to another area to enrich leisure and recreation life during the weekend.

Urban express underground tunnel Establish a complex and multi-level underground transportation network to achieve efficient connection between Tseung Kwan O New Town and the city center, relieve the traffic pressure on Route 7, and ensure future external traffic

Based on the integrated TOD neighborhood, the project is to create a vibrant and livable, diverse, and inclusive future urban district, driving vitality, efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability. It employs the spatial paradigm of "people-driven transportation, digital city infrastructure, point-to-point data support", creating a convenient 5G park city. The multi-dimensional transportation system effectively alleviates urban diseases such as traffic congestion, air pollution, and inefficient logistics. With a people-oriented concept, the public space is open and vibrant horizontal and vertical continuously and variably. Thus, ecological and natural urban interface facilitates the establishment and stability of social networks. Under the concept of natural symbiosis, the community rain gardens, coastal sidewalks, leisure bicycle lanes, and nature experience trails around mountains can integrate the concept of eco-sustainability into residents' daily life. arousing the awareness of environmental protection. The concept of neighborhood is to realize the overall development of transportation and the urban environment.

In-between Space to Identity

A Cultural Exchange Center

With special history and geography, Hong Kong residents live on the edge of multiple cultures and feel anxiety about their identity. Films, as a carrier of ideology, help to research culture and space, especially the narrative. A cultural melting bridge and an insensitive border are proposed. It imagines that when different people shortly stay in multi-functional places, through their spontaneous connection and the transition of perspectives, a sustainable recognition of multiculturalism can be realized. In the nomadic space, an individual is a participant and also a spectacle observed by others. The camera then shifts to the outside of the car, looking through the window at the movement inside the car, with the police standing on the stairs behind.

Introduction

Kowloon Walled City is a symbol of multiculturalism in Hong Kong. The film pictures the chaotic environment and the communication between people. The plot is driven by scenes and photographic composition

The heroine goes home and can see the internal obstruction relationship of the building through the gate.

Repeat spaces, where different storylines appear while unlocking hidden spaces inside.

The space of orderly queuing and order was broken in the sudden event and became a more open space.

The overarching pattern is reinforced by the separation of spaces between inside and the exterior view of the courtyard. That is Jeffery's looking at something

Vantage point, crossing from the interior of the apartment to the centre of courtyard, insert a turning point in narrative sequence when Jeff feels resigned. And it suggests a neutral and objective juege of Thorwald's guild.

The visual pattern is created by the sequence shot on the association between the photographic apparatus and Jeff's investigation of knowledge. Finally the spectator is inverted to the object, showing the power reversal.

Each part is grouped together and can be connected in series with each other.

The camera stays in a building in tandem with access to the second floor via a staircase on the left, and a door on the right that gives access to another space with more entrances and exits inside the space.

In the center, there are the tallest and most ornate buildings, which control the surrounding partitions and are typical of Chinese courtyard architecture.

The residents gathered in this large space come from three urban areas, and different passages can reach different areas.

A new relationship With Nature

With the urbanization process, more than 80% of young people in Chengjiang village choose to work and live in the city. However, as the country attaches importance to the sustainable development of rural economy and ecological resources, rural economic development has also transited from traditional farming and mining to the revitalization of rural employment and cultural tourism. The fast pace of urban life is in sharp contrast to the slow pace of rural life, and people increasingly like to return to the countryside. This project is based on the research of Chengjiang village to carry out the cultural protection and value development of the ancient castle, which is facing huge challenges as the local historical and cultural heritage. Through the combination of visual arts and local resources, this project has built a conceptual healing space while protecting the historical and cultural heritage, so that people can experience psychological healing.

Heritage Protection and Architectural Conceptual Design

INTRODUCTION

In the early stage, the local people mostly made a living by mining, which polluted the groundwater and broke the balance with nature. With the process of urbanization, many labor forces have moved to cities, leading to an aging population and a decline in labor forces. At present, people are aware of establishing a symbiotic relationship with nature. Most young people look forward to returning to the countryside on holidays, enjoying the peace of rural life, and finding space for healing the busy urban life.

The Design Principles by Nature

Inspiration is derived from the local natural and living environment. Evolves around original function of "shelter", the form of architecture is primitive but post-futuristic for future residents. A state of downing to the earth but enhancing nature is created with rammed techniques for the locals. This shelter will be sustainable with low energy consumption, low carbon emissions, and complete regeneration.

Green Infrastructure Network

to Resilience Economic and Nature

To meet the needs of the rapid development of the city, gray infrastructure has developed rapidly in Shenzhen. The construction of gray infrastructure has increased the area of rugged land, reduced the scale of natural land, and negatively impacted the ecosystem. Based on sustainable development theory, the green infrastructure concept is proposed. By linking green space with the community, the integrated ecological network can maintain ecological processes, ensure healthy species development and improve residents' living quality. Systematic green infrastructure can reduce the demand for grey infrastructure and promote resilience to the city and natural environment.

19

Before the reform and opening up in 1979, Baoan was scattered with small fishing villages, and the western coast was dominated by ecological wetlands.

Shenzhen occupies 1865.57 km2, mainly hills and plains. Since 1979, it has gone through a rapid evolution of regional landscape structure and ecological function. The site connects the western coastal area and the ecological conservation belt of the Dapeng Peninsula in Laotian Yangyang Mountain, which has the ecological significance of an urban green corridor. In terms of regional development, the area has a good gateway prospect with the future Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, the Shenzhen-Zhuhai Channel, and radiation effects. The site is adjacent to the airport, exhibition center, high-tech town, and cultural heritage, it is a comprehensive development area for living, traveling, and working.

In 1990, the oyster fields in the northern part of the western coastal zone had the shoreline retreated, and the construction of Huangtian Airport began.

In 2002, industrialization developed rapidly, urban area expand along highways and expressway, and some to the sea.

In 2014, an inland belt pattern is formed, mainly productionoriented, including major transportation facilities such as airports and ports.

AIM: The proposal aims to sustainable and resilient green-blue network, which connects the community and nature.

PURPOSE: Blue-green infrastructure refers to a strategic network of parks, natural heritage, wetlands, and shorelines to preserve vegetation and habitats and maintain the ecological system. The main components of this approach include ecological improvement or replacement of road construction, drainage, energy, flood management, and waste disposal system. Green infrastructure also serves to promote, protect and manage the historical landscape, cultural heritage and maintain biodiversity.

Plantcommunity vegetationtypes

Green infrastructure is also a regional concept to make citizens' practical needs and multiple city service systems closely linked together, which can improve the quality of living space.

"Systematicness" is important to evaluate the efficiency of GI and it ensures the stability of the ecological city environment process.

It is a productive rainwater collection method and the community farming can promote social contact.

It can regulate water habits, and the pleasant visual screen enhance mood of residents, which is a ecolifestyle,

Reusing grey water with drip irrigation technology to maintain vertical landscape and improve microclimate for living.

Urban Ecological Network

Transforming or replacing roads with green corridor can connect different types of ecological patches. The network can improve the connectivity of ecological functions, and guarantee the walking paths for wildlife.

Rainwater and waste management

Waste management refers to the separation of rainwater and sewage, which facilitates rainwater management, reduces the need for industrial water, and ensures treatment plants' efficiency. Rainwater management is achieved primarily through the porous pavement, bio-swale, green roofs, and rainwater harvesting. It can improve water quality, reduce soil erosion, save water for manual irrigation, and improve natural hydrology in a broad way.

Phased remediation and biodiversity

In-situ remediation seeks to reveal the social and ecological potential with local species. Aquatic plants play an important role in improving water quality, and the roots of the plants can help to trap and filter water, improving the water storage capacity of the land.
