Meet the Coaches David Bourne The ex-pro in the team! Having spent time as a YTS with Crystal Palace & Brentford. Dave is the head of the Football Academy at QMC. He is qualified up to UEFA B, Youth Modules 1 & 2 as well as being a Coach Educator with the FA and Hampshire FA for ten years. He has been heavily involved in coaching/ teaching for twenty two years and as an educator for the last fourteen.
Chris Kirby Second in charge at The Academy and responsible for running the 1st XI team this year. Having had many years of playing experience, Chris has also completed his UEFA B Coaching Licence as well as completing his Personal Training Qualifications. Chris is also responsible for working alongside Andrew to prepare and carry out performance analysis across the college teams.
Andrew Butler Andrew, a former student has been working with The Academy and brings with him knowledge of performance analysis as well as holding a specialised goalkeeping qualification. Currently in his 3rd year at Southampton Solent and starting his new role working as a performance analyst for Southampton FC, Andrew is a welcomed addition to the coaching staff and will offer specialised goalkeeper training and match analysis.

What do we believe?
At QMC, football plays an integral part of our students development. It is our belief that students should ultimately enjoy their football but also develop knowledge and understanding of the game. Ultimately, becoming better individuals and team players by the time they leave college.
What's included?
Upon gaining a place on the academy, you will be receiving 5 hours per week of coaching, training sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays, with college games played on Wednesday afternoons. You will also get the opportunity to purchase the college team kit and training gear.
Why QMC Academy? At QMC we believe in developing players’ all-round ability whilst developing their understanding of the game within a team structure. To help us accomplish this we pride ourselves on our outstanding coaches and facilities including our 3G pitch, sand-based astro, ďŹ tness suite and exercise studio.
Who are we? Hampshire College Sports Association Competitions Our Academy teams play in a range of cup competitions as well as our own Hampshire leagues. These leagues ensure regular competitive fixtures alongside the Hampshire Cup and AOC National Cup. QMC 1st X1: Hampshire Colleges 1A division, Hampshire Colleges Cup & AOC Cup. QMC 2nd XI: Hampshire Colleges 2nd division, Hampshire Colleges Cup & AOC Cup QMC 3rd XI: Hampshire Colleges 3rd division & Hampshire Colleges Cup. QMC Ladies: Play in regular fixtures and 'Super 7's' tournaments organised through Hampshire FA.
About Hampshire colleges sport...
As part of our regular fixtures QMC teams play within the Hampshire Colleges Sport system. This league ensures regular and competitive fixtures for our students that take place on a Wednesday afternoon.

How we support
How we coach We use a range of different teaching/coaching styles and plan progressive sessions that challenge students every session.
All staff are members of the Licenced Coaches Club. Performance analysis is used to improve individual and team performance.
How we play ENGLAND DNA Players will develop their technical, tactical, physical, social and psychological abilities.
Players will experience different playing formations and are encouraged to develop and maintain ball possession through the thirds.
Opportunities Football Academy students will get additional opportunities to develop their football related skills and will have: - Opportunities to play Futsal. - Links/access to Hampshire FA. - Access to FA 1st4Sport Level 1 Coaching Qualifications. - Opportunity to participate on the FA Football Futures Scheme. Also, students can also play recreationally at college with opportunities to play football every day of the week, through: - Just Play - Team Nineteen - 3v3 and Panna Football
Trials Trials are held in September for both the men’s and women’s Academy.
NEW FOR 2017 Trip to St George's Park (home of the England football team) for onsite sports science testing & screening. Develop your coaching with a 1st4Sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Football. Regular yoga classes to develop all round flexibility.
Typical College Week Monday Academy sessions: These sessions will focus on performance analysis for players, alongside yoga and coaching development courses. Tuesday Academy sessions: These sessions will cover a range of technical and tactical content. Including principles of attacking and defending; counter attacking or playing through the 3rds (in-line with the England DNA model) Wednesday afternoon College matches. Student fixtures. Thursday and Friday Opportunity to play recreational football.
Womens Academy now receiving specialised coaching from UEFA B qualified coaches.
