Our first issue for Pride Month features the current situation surrounding the protest movement, as well as continuing coverage of COVID-19. To show their support, over 100 organizations and others have signed a letter stating their solidarity to unite and fight against racial violence. In Charlotte, individuals have maintained a 24/7 vigilance in Uptown, speaking out against the injustices that were perpetrated against African-Americans such as George Floyd, as well as others. In mobilization efforts, LGBTQ organizations are stepping up in efforts to secure progressive votes and election of candidates who share similar values. As part of our COVID-19 reporting, we have a feature on Jermaine Nakia Lee and his community needs projects and one on how gay clubs are fairing through the pandemic. On the lighter side, we have an interview with out performer Ruthie Foster. We also have current local, regional and national news, along with other pieces, that will serve to enlighten and entertain our readers.
