Youth Classes
Creative ballet
designed for newer students, this class teaches basic ballet steps and simple vocabulary through fun music and age-appropriate combinations, while incorporating creativity and imagination using props such as streamers or stuffed animals. every class also features a game! Ballet enhances balance and coordination and helps build strength, posture, and confidence. this is an independent class; parents are not allowed in the dance room. Required attire: Leotard, footed tights, proper ballet shoes, dance skirt optional. instructor: michelle reese fee: $77 (7 classes) / $88 (8 classes) Location: dance room

Tap
designed for beginners and returning students alike, this class will focus on teaching beginning to intermediate tap steps and vocabulary. through fun, upbeat music, dance combinations, and creativity students will improve their rhythm and musicality while learning the sounds and steps of tap dance. games and interactive props are incorporated into every class! this is an independent class; parents are not allowed in the dance room. tap is a noise based class, proper tap shoes are required. musical Theatre
more than just a dance class, this class will help students build their confidence and express themselves. each class will feature an improve game, a vocal warm-up, and a dance combo to practice all aspects of musical theatre. we use music from kid-friendly Broadway shows while we create characters, explore movement styles, learn new dance steps, have fun with different dance periods and genres, learn basic theatre terminology, and unleash our creative side! musical theatre is a great way to build strength and improve coordination and rhythm. this is an independent class; parents are not allowed in the dance room. Self Defense & Safety Awareness
children (ages 5-15) learn how to communicate and defend themselves in real life situations involving Stranger Abduction and bully Intimidation. escape techniques are learned to defend against being grabbed and communication skills are used to diffuse problems. safety information is discussed each week. this program focusses on safety awareness, self-defense & discipline, not aggressiveness. all classes are taught in a fun, yet structured environment. please arrive 20 minutes prior to 5:30 pm. instructor: sensei Bob registration fee: $10 per person fee: $8 weekly Location: memorial center

Car building for kids
do you love cars and can’t wait to work on them? in this class, students will get an opportunity to build and paint some of their favorite cars in 1:25 scale. students will learn basic car concepts and get an opportunity to exhibit their creativity during a model car show at the end of the last class. instructor: sports center staff fee: $60 (includes model car kit)/4 classes Location: sports center classroom

Slot Car Racing for kids
