In the transition to the advanced stage of the commodity economy, in nineteenth-century London and twentieth-century Beijing, very different and quietly connected stories are taking place. In a sort of utopian context, the poet's soul may be reborn in the ruins that perfectly match his poetic thoughts and reveal the negative latent beauty of the ruins.
The site is located in an abandoned factory in Nankou Town, Changping, Beijing, China. The plant was originally used for the production of flat glass and was abandoned at the end of the last century. The structure inside the factory is relatively intact. Due to the special needs of the glass production process, several columns of ritualistic columns remain in the hall of the factory.
Method The design takes important fragments and masterpieces from the poet's life and tries to create the ideal atmosphere of the poet's space through the addition of attachments between ornaments and elements, and reveals the beauty of the ruins.
Method First, analyze the poetic meter of the poet's masterpiece and extract the iambic pentameter. Combined with the inhibition frame, the corresponding control frame points are generated. Next, the control grid points are corresponded to the plant space and the existing composition of the plant space is analyzed. Finally, combining the poetic meter with the existing spatial nodes, different treatments are selected for different structural elements to form new spaces.
Sky - Roof When I behold, upon the night’s starred face Huge cloudy symbols of a high romance And think that I may never live to trace --Their shadows, with the magic hand of chance
Ground - Column What men or gods are these? What maidens loth? What mad pursuit? What struggle to escape? What pipes and timbrels? W hat wild ecstasy?
Home - Wall Diamonded with panes of quaint device, Innumerable of stains and splendid days.

Design Backgroud The site is located at the ruins of an old house in Changling Village, Xiuwu County, Henan Province, near the entrance of the village. The design preserves the trees that grew naturally after the house was abandoned on the original base, and reproduces the stone composition of the old house through resin inversion; a shallow pond is placed in the center of the courtyard, and a cistern is created under it to become the center of the place; a thin flexible pipe is installed in the cistern to guide water, which is pulled up by a two-way color balloon. The design will present two states: daily and praying for rain, as determined by
natural factors such as temperature and humidity in the environment. In the daily state, the balloons are lowered inside the site, and the villagers' life traces are highlighted, constituting a place for villagers to meet and exchange, while the transparent but textured enclosure and the trees growing freely inside and outside the site provide a stable and pleasant spatial experience for villagers to mingle with nature. In the state of praying for rain, the balloons will rise to become clouds and the rain will fall to complete the house, the nature of the place will change from easy and loose to sacred and heartfelt, providing the villagers with historical, cultural and spiritual trust and integration.
Vision In the village of Changling, the old people will inevitably pass away one by one, the houses will gradually collapse and disappear, as if nature will be the victor in the battle with the human habitat. In the last days of the village, they may not need a lively center full of man-made things. A small but beautiful place where nature is no longer isolated, no longer controlled, no more fighting for survival, not powerful, transparent, swaying in the wind, and which will eventually disappear because it reflects the nature around it, is enough to give the old people a different kind of delicate and beautiful experience of living with nature. Let the nature that is going to disappear pass away, and what should exist continue to exist, and what is natural returns to nature, and what is human also returns to nature. Let the rain fall.
03 The Steppe Ark An Experimental Dwelling for Settled Nomads Zhangjiakou, China
Solar Decathlon China 2021 Ongoing 2020.06-2021.09 Instructor: Prof. Ning Zhu Collaborator: Lening Yu, Xinmeng Zhang, Yiqiao Wang, Xinran He, Xiaoyang Jiao, Shaohang Shi, Yinduo Zhu, Zhaohong Liu, Mincan Li, Xidian Wang Contribution: Interior Design Team Leader, Dish Stirling Design, Roof Design
Roof Composition & Dish Stirling System The fifth façade is an important part of the image of the house as well as the image of the circular community in the single house required to be built in the competition as well as in the herding settlement + tourism community desired by the competition team, fully reflecting the grassland aesthetics and technical honesty we uphold in the design process. The fifth façade system of "The Steppe Ark" includes: solar energy system represented by multi-disc Stirling motors, semi-transparent polycarbonate roof panel system and skylight system. The overall expression of the roof is designed in combination with the grassland style highlighting, indoor key space lighting needs, and echoing the disc type Stirling form. The roof structure form takes into account assembly, drainage prevention and heat preservation, and takes the form of arch beam frame. The dish type Stirling mirror frame is custom designed according to the design concept.

04 Transparent Ellipse Urban High-rise Business Hotel Design Beijing, China
Tsinghua University Design Studio 2020.02-2020.05 Intructor: Prof. Sijin Yin Individual Work
Site Selection and Concept The base is located in the lot of Dongsheng Mansion, the northeast corner of the intersection of South Qinghua Road and Chengfu Road, east of Zhongguancun Wisdom Street and west of Tsinghua Science and Technology Park. From the perspective of location and industry, the site is surrounded by a strong academic atmosphere, rich in scientific research and supporting industries, and close to the Wudaokou subway station, with frequent flow of high-profile people. From the urban environment, the site has the potential to become the open center of many closed compound-type spaces, and is located in the opening area of the closed street wall line formed by many high-rise office buildings and residences.
The hotel is positioned as a science and innovation branded salon. On the architectural level, the podium part is shaped as much as possible to integrate with the city, blurring the indoor-outdoor boundary while ensuring comfortable use in Beijing winters and responding to the walking experience of pedestrians. The tower avoids the large amount of pedestrian traffic at the intersection to the south, while focusing on the volume relationship with the high-rise of Tsinghua Science and Technology Park to the east, echoing the axis of Tsinghua University and placing it at the northwest corner of the lot.
