01 WATER · MIST · CHIMNEY BEIJING PUBLIC BATHROOM DESIGN DESIGN CONCEPT With the change of times, cities gradually become similar to each other, and many cultural traditions are also disappearing in the process of modernization. Beijing bathhouse used to be an indispensable part of the life of old Beijingers. It was a civic place formed due to the lack of material resources. Now, how do we balance the modern quality of life with the taste of the old bathhouse in one building? In my opinion, we should focus on the essence of the bathhouse, and let it fully play its role as a social place, so as to become a miniature of the "old Beijing" that can carry out various social activities.

In junior high school, I lived in Beijing for a period of time. At that time, Beijing was very different from now. Hutong is a place where many people live. All their activities happen in small hutongs. With the development of the city, these "old Beijing" culture is gradually disappearing, replaced by higher buildings, more gorgeous decoration, electric bikes and cars.

FORM DEDUCTION
Place the second floor block on the ground.
On the first floor, there are passageways connecting hutongs and schools, hotels and cafes.
Tw o c o u r t y a r d s w e r e excavated according to the axis of the courtyard, and a layer of damaged wall was replaced by grille.
The column was placed and divided into two layers of functional areas.
Put the functional blocks into the "cloud" and set up a three-layer viewing platform.
Body operation completed.
Bubbles acted as a medium, giving new vigor and vitality to the outdated courtyard.
INFLUENCE ON HUTONG
The outdoor design is more in line with the traditional Chinese courtyard experience.
The bubble shape produces grey space in Hutong, which makes the Hutong more conducive to the occurrence of communication.

02 HOUSE OF THE WIND ARCHITECTURE WITH CHANGEABLE SKIN DESIGN DESIGN CONCEPT Despite its significance, building skin has been neglected to some extent in today’s architectural design. With the change of transportation methods, people often enter the building without seeing the skin; on the other hand, the purely decorative building skin generates a lot of garbage in the increasingly frequent redecorates. At the same time, the skin of many buildings does not have enough contact with the internal space, and cannot interact with the inside and outside. This should not be a good state. A good skin design should have a certain degree of variability to implement frequent updates, and at the same time, it should communicate with internal and external information. So we designed it to use temperature as a signal to design a variable building skin.

BASE
As an important part of the building, the surface of the building has many problems in its use today.
The outer skin has nothing to do with the environment outside the building. In Shanghai, the outer skin of various archietectures depends on their styles to a large extent, rather than the surrounding environments.
According to the composition and distribution of construction waste in China in 2017, the construction waste generated by demolition of old buildings accounted for 58% of the construction waste, and the construction waste generated by construction of new buildings accounted for 36%. The inability to change the facade leads to more garbage in order to change the appearance of the building.
The outer skin does not have link to the mode of transportation. Due to the transportation mode of modern cities, people often enter buildings directly from underground , without contact with the outer skin.
The outer skin has nothing to do with the inner space, which do not have a relationship with the internal action.

SANTA DONNA MALL

The site is filled with good daylight for most of the year, but the site does not provide adequate shelter. Therefore, a sheltered resting place is needed, and people can fully relate to the building skin.
60% THE STREET HOUSES
On the east and west sides of our site are two subway entrances and exits with a large number of people. At the same time, subway traffic is mixed with street traffic.
We found that the percentage of openings on the building surface around the base is between 50%-80%, but the sunshine time in the pedestrian street varies greatly, so can we make a hole that accounts for 10%-90% according to the environment ?
BUILDING ENVIRONMENT REGULATION LEVEL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT We can find that in all natural environments, only temperature and humidity can be regulated by the hierarchy of building components, so we will try to use specially designed building skin components and the force of airflow to adjust the indoor temperature. This is a schematic diagram of the four most common and simplest air flows in relation to the facade windowing, which will be one of the theoretical basis for our next design.
THE SPATIAL SCALE OF A PERSON
According to the scale of human body, it can interact with three areas: Alpha area: the area rarely reached by human activities, i.e., below 0.8m. In this region, there is less interaction between windows and people, and the demand for light in this region is generally less. Beta area: the area that interacts with people in a single-storey building, that is, between 0.8m-2.2m. This is the area where human activities are concentrated. So this is going to be the main area of the facade change. Gamma area:above the human activity range of single-storey buildings, i.e. 2.2m-3.0m and above. Because human activities cannot reach this height, the fixed facade is often designed here.
Metal Blade
Transmission Device
The blade is composed of six hexagonal metal plates with a side length of 200mm.
The six blades are connected in pairs to a 20mm wide transmission rod, and the three rods are connected together to form a transmission component.
Signal Transmission Lever The signal from the sensor is transmitted from the upper and lower main control rods to the middle intersecting secondary lever. After receiving the signal, the secondary lever is sent to each basic component, which is transferred from closed state to open state according to the signal.
The Basic Components Put the first two together and you will have the basic components of a mutable skin.
The Working Form When the assembly receives the signal, the actuator causes the blade to rotate by 75° into a state where air can pass through.
03 FLOATING THEATER SHANGHAI UNIVERSITY CONCERT HALL DESIGN DESIGN CONCEPT How to create a concert hall building in the school that is truly popular among students. The task book requires to transform the original concert hall. We hope to create a light and dynamic presence in the overall calm and uninteresting building, so that it can become a new landmark building while showing the flow of music. Students, the main group of the building, should be given plenty of venues for various activities to bring vitality to the area. personal project

THE LOCATION OF THE BASE AND THE STATUS QUO OF THE BASE
The site is located at the northeast corner of S h a n g h a i U n i v e r s i t y, south of the main road of the school's east gate. Students can see it at their first sight when entering the east gate. The north of the site is the gym of the university.
Shanghai University is located on 99 Shangda Road, Baoshan District, Shanghai. To the north of the school is the Shanghai Metro Line 7.

LANDSCAPE
The artificial lake of Shanghai university is located in the center of Baoshan campus of Shanghai university. But the whole landscape is concentrated in the middle of the entire school, and geometrically the site is at the end of the Panchi curve. But there's actually no water at all.
The north side is the main entrance used by foreign guests.
There are a lot of lawn and natural landscape throughout the school, but most of them is concentrated in the center and south side of the campus. The landscaped area next to the site is almost unused because there is no space for students to move around. On the north side of the campus, there is no lawn for people to rest and stay here.
Most of the buildings in the school are teaching buildings, usually 4-5 stories, about 12-15 meters high. On the north side of the base is the main passage for students to go to the east campus, and on the west side is the road where most of the teaching buildings are located, which is also the road that students often take after class.
e west side is dominated by students, so it is the main ndscape.
Vehicles enter the underground via the east side.
e student entrance on the west side offers a variety of periences.
The remaining south side is set as a parking area instead of a landscape.
e west side is designed to be more lively and energetic.
Students can relax on the roof lawn of the building through a separate flow line.

FUNCTIONAL ZONING AND SPOOL MAPPING OF THE BUILDING
The west side is the mos obvious curved facade. The curve of the entire large curved surface stops afte encountering the logistic square shape, and the side escalato continues to extend the curve. There is also a sunken plaza with rich three-dimensiona levels on the west side, where students can carry out activities again to show the vitality of the area.
West side view
The opening on the second floor runs through the third and second floors, where students can enjoy the waterscape on the first floor and the scenery on the north side of the school. The interior space is full of vitality and fluidity, presenting the theme of music well.

The model lifts the entire building, hoping to express the concept of floating buildings in the design. The curve of the building gently floats on the acrylic plate, and the large curve forms a completely different space experience from the past. The most complicated part of the whole model is to make the lower base, measure and mark each of the triangles through the three-dimensional cad file, and finally splice them into a complete base.
04 DISORDERED EXPLORATION STUDENT DORMITORY BUILDING DESIGN DESIGN CONCEPT Contemporary college students spend most of t h e i r t i m e i n t h e d o r m i t o r y, t e a c h i n g b u i l d i n g s , cafeterias, libraries, etc. for linear back and forth activities. Life goes on according to the schedule. College students, as the future talents of the whole society, should be the most energetic and creative, but in such a state of life, vitality and creativity are wiped out. Among all the places, the dormitory is the most important place for students to live. Therefore, we can change the existing living space for college students into a disorderly one and explore small but different space, so as to arouse their vitality and creativity. personal project
