We are a small architectural office dedicated to offering environmentally, economically, and socially responsible design with a client base being private homeowners through to larger public buildings for both private and government.

INTERN REFERENCE

During Robbie’s employment at OA Design Solutions, he proved himself as being competent, motivated and a talented team member. Robbie was initially hired as an intern to observe the normal running of an architectural office and was included in all emails/correspondence and client meetings etc. It is hoped that this insight has provided further education to Robbie. It was not long into Robbie’s employ that it was noticed that he is extremely experienced in 3D rendering (possibly due to Robbie’s previous university education as an Industrial Designer). His knowledge using Sketchup, and Rhino are quite advanced, and he was observed to be able to produce renderings of high quality in a short timeframe. Robbie was well liked and respected by all staff at OA Design Solutions and the Home Ideas Centre where our office is located. During his time with us, Robbie remained positive and driven even during times of stress and was always a pleasure to be around. 01 UNI FINAL PROJECT

Insect Museum Hong Kong

H

ong Kong is facing a serious problem where the Urbanization rate continues to increase and green spaces are decreasing. As a result, the number of native butterflies has gone into serious decline. This has forced some species to migrate to other regions or even more seriously have become extinct. The purpose of my project is to design a ‘greenhouse within the city precinct’ to protect the butterfly environment and existence. The design will provide the basic substances required for butterflies, such as air, water and soil which are purified from the city before entering the butterfly sanctuary that I have designed. At the same time, the project provides a botanical garden, and a butterfly museum for the education of visitors.

ach kind of butterfly has its unique egg design, thereby creating a myriad of beautiful variations in which to explore. The shape of the dome is a metaphor that has been inspired by butterfly eggs. The life of a butterfly is divided into three main periods. Egg, caterpillar, and butterfly. The egg and caterpillars naturally live on trees, whilst the butterfly lives in the entire surroundings relying mainly on flowers. The botanic garden is planted with appropriate trees and flowers which are suitable for specific butterflies. There are three methods to plant trees and flowers both on and inside buildings. Egg and caterpillar live on trees, butterfly live on flowers. The botanical garden is planted with some trees and flowers which are suitable for specific butterflies. There are three ways to plant trees and flowers on buildings. In such a form, the butterfly can fly up and down freely, and the human view is optimized.

ulture is conservative per definition, as everything deemed culturally significant relies on matching an existing canon of values. Operating inside a sphere of defined values is comfortable and reassuring, however, to advance our discipline we need to step outside of existing certainties and create ‘a difference that makes the difference’. This involves risk. This studio encourages risky thinking by means of experimentation, subsequent analysis and invention of purpose and meaning. It starts with ‘wild’ spaces, allowing for deviance and independent thinking, which are critically evaluated for their potential to suggest alternative forms of organisation, both social and spatial.

Stainless Steel with Dots BUILDING SURFACE Stainless steel with dots is used for the building surface. This material is quite common in factory and workshop. The image of Port Adelaid (street, block, transportation, ancient architecture) will be shown on the surface. The whole building will be hidden in the Port Adelaide. Actually you are facing to the whold Port Adelaid when staring at the building.


Comparison of Architecture and Context Both sides of building have reached harmony due to the old building are reflected to the new's skin.


Central hall is the main plot in story. Two moments happend in this space. 1.Train Waiting Moment 2.The communication between train station people and museum people. (Mind The Gap Moment)

NTEGRATE explores collective housing as a means offoring a diverse community that shares and prioritizes cultural differences and offers affordable housing for bachelors and families while embracing the unique identity of each resident. The Bloordale neighbourhood provides a site that targets all senses with its diverse selection of foods,crafts and galleries; evident as one trails down its main street. Yet, it continues to gentrify,diminishing its multiplicity of practices while still being the home for current and migrating immigrants of all backgrounds,identities and economic standings.

he building proposes an alternate form to the typical terrace typology,in which the smooth concrete facade disintegrates into arranged terraces and kitchens that shuffle as the building steps back,opening up to the central courtyard and binding itself up once again as the form is duplicated. These blocks focus on the courtyard,prioritizing the shared space and views of communal activities. The intimacy of unit to unit interaction is expanded between floors with split living and dining spaces of double heights that span to face the bordering street.
