ABOUT US Eclipse Yachting is a family-run company. All our staff have hands-on sailing experience on our yacht, around the Croatian and Greek Islands, as well as the wider Mediterranean, so they know what they are talking about. We cater for anyone and everyone, and pride ourselves on giving our clients their own unforgettable, tailor-made sailing holiday. Our yacht, Oceanica, is kept in perfect running order and fitted with the most modern equipment. All our skippers are qualified yacht masters as well as competent marine engineers. This means that they keep Oceanica running smoothly throughout your holiday and minimise any potential interruptions. Our skippers also know the best harbours, ports, towns and beaches. Over the years they have developed personal relationships with local restaurant owners and have in-depth knowledge of the best restaurants, bars and local wines.

OCEANICA : OUR YACHT Oceanica is a 2011 Jeanneau 57 fitted with all the available extra options. We’ve made her a truly exceptional charter yacht whilst maintaining affordable charter prices. Oceanica sails like a dream. We’ve upgraded her sailing capabilities by adding performance mylar sails, a TouchTrim winch handling system (all the winches are electric), advanced satellite navigation and autopilot. For the keen sailors out there, you won’t be disappointed with her sailing performance. The large cockpit, with its comfortable customised cushions and inbuilt table fridge, happily seats 10 to 12 people. It’s ideal for sitting and relaxing, reading or sunbathing, or enjoying drinks or a meal together. Oceanica’s interior is spacious and comfortable and sleeps up to 10 guests (plus skipper). It’s luxuriously equipped with a Nespresso coffeemaker, microwave, four-burner gas cooker and oven, Bose stereo (with internal and external speakers), a hairdryer, and a Sony TV with a DVD player. There’s an on board computer with Wi-Fi so you have internet access in almost any port or anchorage within our cruising area. Plus a washing machine and dryer and dishwasher to help make your holiday as relaxing as possible. All this electrical equipment is supported by the powerful on-board generator and inverter which provide a 220-volt power supply. This also means that in the hotter months we can run the fully ducted air conditioning wherever we are, for example, in port or at anchor in a remote bay.

DESTINATIONS Eclipse Yachting operates in the Dalmation Islands of Croatia and the Ionian Islands of Greece. The islands in both areas are world renowned because they have so much to offer people who love sailing already or people who are new to the scene: gentle light breezes in the mornings, building up to exciting sailing breezes in the afternoons. There is a huge variety of overnight mooring options, including luxurious modern marinas, century-old town harbours and idyllic, tranquil bays with crystal clear water. THE DALMATIAN ISLANDS! On the West Coast of Croatia, stretching from the island of Rab in the north to the Bay of Kotor in the south, the Dalmation Islands consist of 79 mostly rugged islands running parallel with the coast. The immense number of islands, coves and channels make it the perfect sailing destination for those wanting beautiful scenery, numerous bays and excellent local cuisine. There are wonderful historical and cultural riches for those who want to spend some time on land: Trogir and Dubrovnik (both stunning UNESCO world heritage towns), the islands of Hvar and Korcula with their beautifully preserved renaissance architecture, and the traditional unspoiled Dalmatian villages of Vis and Brac. THE IONIAN ISLANDS! On the West Coast of Greece, the Ionian Islands stretch from Corfu in the North down to Zakinthos in the South. Benefiting from a higher winter rainfall than the rest of Greece, the mountainous island range provides a stunning green backdrop to the emerald water sea that links them all. The summer brings settled weather and flat calm seas, making it the perfect destination for a week or two sailing. With a rich history due to their geographical importance to trade throughout the ages, each island has a unique story to tell if you explore a little off the main track. Village fishing harbours provide the setting for a typical Greek evening in a local taverna, where the family owners serve delicious traditional food.

OUR CROATIAN CRUISING AREA On our one week trips we tend to stay around the northern Dalmatian Islands such as, Brac, Hvar, Vis, Solta and Korcula. We may venture as far north as the picturesque town of Primeston on the mainland. Our longer two week trips enable us to go further afield, possibly as far south as the island of Lastovo and world famous Dubrovnik. We may do a two day stop in some locations to give people time to explore the islands ashore. The prevailing summertime wind in the Dalmatian islands is from the north-west. Although it is possible to sail from Split to Dubrovnik and back in one week we would not recommend this. The trip back north from Dubrovnik will require long days heading into the prevailing wind to make it back in time for your departure. On the other hand, on a two week holiday you can take advantage of the extra time, taking the trip north in shorter hops making the journey much more pleasant and relaxing.

TYPICAL WEEK : SOLTA  PRIMOSTEN  VIS  KORCULA  HVAR  BRAC

OUR IONIAN ISLANDS CRUISING AREA On our one week trips we aim to travel from the top of the Ionian to the bottom (or the reverse) to show you the best the area has to offer. With 3 airports within the region arranging travel to and from the boat couldn’t be easier. The prevailing summertime wind in the Ionian Islands is from the north west, although mornings are often flat calm, perfect for a short motor to a seclude bay where we’ll anchor for lunch and a swim. We also offer two week holidays travelling the same route as the one week trips giving you the opportunity to spend two days in some places in order to explore the islands’ land based attractions, which cannot be accessed by boat. This also gives you the chance to venture into some of the more remote and lesser known harbours and bays in the area.

TYPICAL WEEK : CORFU TOWN  PARGA  PAXOS  LEFKAS  ITHACA  CEPHALONIA

CROATIAN ITINERARY Starting in Kastela Marina, just a 15 minute taxi journey from Split Airport, we will sail to Solta and moor in one of the quaint traditional villages tucked into the side of the island. From there we head north to Primosten, famous for its beautiful vineyards and stunning Adriatic sunsets. Next you sail down to the islands of Vis and Korchula to taste some local delicacies, explore eye catching coves and beaches as well as the beautiful architecture and narrow walkways.

Bol Beach

Hvar, the area’s most well known destination, is a winner for all. Steeped in history it has great shopping, restaurants ranging from Michelin-starred establishments to family run konobas, as well as lovely beaches, a happening nightlife and, for those who brave the climb, the Spanish fortress on the hill. From there you make your way to the tranquil and idyllic island of Brac before heading back to reality. Stiniva Beach

IONIAN ITINERARY Beginning in Gouvia Marina we’ll sail the short distance to Corfu Town where we’ll spend the first night in the harbour built within the old citadel, with the castle walls rising steeply behind the yacht club. Its well worth the 10 minute walk through the grounds of the old fort into Corfu town, for a coffee on the liston overlooking the old town and (no joke) the cricket pitch. Next we’ll make our way south to the mainland coast harbour town of Parga, known for its stunning castle towering on the hills above the bay. We will then head across to Paxos, famous for crystal clear emerald water and the quaint ports of Gaios and Lakka. Travelling south takes us down to the Southern Ionian region where we will explore the magic port of Fiskardo on Cephalonia and the untouched villages on Ithaca and Meganisi. Each island has its own uniqueness that makes this area such a stunning place to visit by boat.

A TYPICAL DAY Whatever your preference we will aim to provide it for you! At the start of each week and as the week goes on our skippers will discuss the options available to you each day. TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF A TYPICAL DAY : MORNING/BREAKFAST A swim, a coffee ashore and a little shopping before slipping anchor and motoring towards a bay for some swimming, sunbathing and relaxing. We suggest getting going by 11am so you have enough time to enjoy the day. Mornings in the Mediterranean are the coolest time of the day so for any early risers it’s the best time to see the local cultural attractions before it gets too hot. LUNCHTIME We’ll drop anchor in a stunning bay, you can swim off the boat, paddle board to the rocks and caves or sit back and relax with a good book. Enjoy lunch in the huge cockpit where up to 10 people can fit comfortably around the table. AFTERNOON As the breeze picks up in the afternoon we’ll lift the anchor and sail towards the evening’s harbour. For those of you keen to have a go at sailing yourselves this is the perfect opportunity to helm and pull on the ropes, but rest assured the yacht is designed to be sailed by one person so you are more than welcome to sit back and relax - there is no hard work to be done on board unless you wish to! EVENING Our skippers know both the sailing areas and the harbours we visit inside out, so can reccommend the very best restaurants to eat in each night. They will phone ahead for you to book a table when required, and also suggest the best place for an aperitif or after dinner cocktail for those keen to extend the night!
