A rare and thought-provoking examination of both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, from its catalyst to why it still rages, to what needs to happen for it to stop. Screening 18 & 19 September Jamaica 2006 100 mins Dir: Perry Henzell After Perry Henzell’s The Harder They Come put Jamaica on the cinematic map, it took another 8 years to finance the follow-up, but when the film laboratory closed down, the negatives were lost. To Henzell’s great delight the film was recently rediscovered. Susan is the American producer of a shampoo commercial being shot in Jamaica. When the star abandons the shoot, Susan sets out to find her, with charismatic local fixer Carl.
In this season we will be looking at some rare gems from the archives and compare them with contemporary representations of the black experience.
