SHELTERBOX TENTS IN HAITI PUT TO IMMEDIATE USE ShelterBox tents are being used by hospitals in Port au Prince to provide emergency shelter for post surgery patients in Haiti’s capital. The first ShelterBoxes to arrive in the country have been immediately utilised by doctors in desperate need of equipment to help treat huge numbers of injured Haitians. The Response Team in Haiti are facing huge challenges on a daily basis. Large aftershocks were felt first thing this morning Hatian time but the team report they are all ok. ShelterBox Response Team member Mark Pearson, who has been in Port au Prince since Thursday, said: ‘The first tents are being used by Bernard Mews hospital in Port au Prince. The

tents have been immediately put into use by doctors for post surgery patients. ‘The doctors are desperate for all our equipment. The hospital has no electricity, no food, no running water. The injured are constantly coming in with untreated injuries.’ Doctors fear the number of people needing amputations could spiral into the thousands. Amputations are having to be carried out to free people from rubble, to prevent the spread of gangrene and when all attempts to save a severely damaged limb fail. If you can help support ShelterBox’s work around the globe in any way, great or small, please visit www.shelterbox.org.

‘The Strangest Man’ wins Costa Biography Award 2009 Graham Farmelo, Visiting Fellow at Churchill College, has won the prestigious Costa Biography Award for ‘The Strangest Man: The Hidden Life of Paul Dirac, Quantum Genius’. Paul Dirac was a pioneer of quantum mechanics and was regarded as an equal by Albert Einstein. He predicted, purely from what he saw in his equations, the existence of antimatter. One of the youngest theoreticians to win the Nobel Prize for Physics, he was also pathologically reticent, strangely literal-minded and almost completely unable to communicate or empathise. 6 Quantum Health

Based on a previously undiscovered archive of family papers in Florida, Graham Farmelo celebrates Dirac’s massive scientific achievement while drawing a compassionate portrait of his life and the people around him. Judges described the book as “Moving, funny, sad and intensely readable, this is a fascinating insight into the psychology of genius.” Graham Farmelo is Senior Research Fellow at the Science Museum, London, and Adjunct Professor of Physics at Northeastern University, Boston, USA. Formerly a theoretical physicist, he is now an international consultant in science communication. He edited the best-selling It Must be Beautiful:Great Equations of Modern Science in 2002. Photons made to seemingly move faster than light This demonstrates some quantum theories A collaboration of researchers has recently made it possible to accelerate the speed of the basic light particle – the photon – to seemingly faster-than-light speeds. This effect has been achieved by passing the photons through stacked materials, in which the scientists added a single, thin layer at a strategic location. This seems to confirm a number of quantum-physics hypotheses, which state that the time light takes to transit certain materials, including glass, is not determined by the thickness of that medium, but by the order in which the layers that form the medium are stacked, www.PhysOrg.com reports. The work was conducted by a team of experts from the Joint Quantum Institute (JQI). This is a collaboration that was set up between research groups at the University of Maryland and the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). For the first time ever, these people have compiled convincing experimental pieces of evidence to support these ideas, and have done so with single photons too. For the study, researchers used dielectric materials, which are insulating, and are regularly employed to form reflective coatings on surfaces such as mirrors. The setup the team created featured about 30 layers of dielectric materials, each of them with a thickness of about 80 nanometers. The layers were not all the same. Alternately, high(H) and low- (L) refractive index materials were used. This meant that the photons slamming into them had a higher or a lower chance of passing through to the other side. This type of setup gives birth to many reflections inside the stack of layers, as photons that make it through several L and H layers eventually stop in an H

layer, and are reflected back. The team measured that a photon passing though their device took 12.84 femtoseconds to do so. That is, a 12.84 quadrillionth of a second. By adding an L layer at the end of the stack, a photon’s transit time was boosted by up to 3.52 femtoseconds, to about 16.36 femtoseconds. If the light particle were to pass through the last layer alone, it would have done so in only 0.58 femtoseconds. It was also discovered that adding an H layer decreased the time the photon took to break through to about 5.34 femtoseconds. This basically means that the photon exited the stacked layers – which were 2.6 microns thick – at superluminal speeds. This is made possible by the fact that light can act like both a wave and a particle, and also by the fact that only a select few of the photons going into the system make it out through the other end. FOCUS ON THERAPY: THOUGHT FIELD THERAPY AND TRAUMA RELIEF By Joanne M. Callahan, MBA, President, ATFT Foundation 8 Quantum Health

TFT can have the most profound and immediate impact on the life of an individual, indeed of the world, by healing the effects of trauma.

It has been 30 years since Dr. Roger Callahan, a California based clinical psychologist, discovered and began developing the profound method of healing once called Callahan Techniques“ and now known throughout the world as Thought Field Therapy“ (TFT). Dr. Callahan’s life-long quest for more effective ways to help clients--without the need for them to suffer during the healing process—has resulted in a simple yet highly effective method of healing negative emotions, including the debilitating effects of trauma. TFT works across all age groups, genders and cultures - even other species (dogs, cats, horses, etc.) I believe TFT simply and powerfully accesses nature’s basic healing code. As co-developer of TFT with Dr. Callahan, my husband, one of the aspects of TFT of which I’m most proud is that it is perfectly safe. I’m aware of no cases of harm over 30 years of healing. This degree of safety is rare in today’s health care systems. TFT can have the most profound and immediate impact on the life of an individual, indeed of the world, by healing the effects of trauma. The world is filled with the agony of trauma from natural disasters to the man-made violence of war, genocide and terrorism. When people become stuck in trauma’s vice-like grip, we see a continued cycle of violence. Victims become perpetrators. Their lives are filled with anger, hatred, revenge and violence, unable to feel hope or joy. The need to open their hearts to peace, compassion and hope for the future--and break this cycle of violence--is vital to our existence as a species and our planet as a whole. As President of the ATFT Foundation, I am deeply committed to its mission of providing TFT trauma relief to those who need it, wherever that may be in the world. Effective TFT trauma relief can be done quickly and at no cost to needy communities. Additionally, it can be taught to local leaders in a couple of days, enabling them to capably continue the healing long after the foundation team has left. These humanitarian and educational efforts are refined and improved

with the aid of research. After several missions to traumatized areas throughout the world, the ATFT Foundation has developed a dynamic model for volunteer response to large-scale trauma anywhere in the world. Our first indication of how truly effective TFT can Joanne Callahan be in the face of horrific large-scale trauma was in MBA: Callahan Kosovo. Dr. Carl Johnson led several teams of TFT Techniques practitioners to this war-torn country, where they found that using TFT to treat victims of the war produced a very high success rate that has held up over time. (Johnson, C., Shala, M., Sejdijaj, X., Odell, R., & Dabishevci, D. (2001). Thought Field Therapy: Soothing the bad moments of Kosovo. Journal of Clinical Psychology, 57(10), 12371240). Author, Lynne McTaggart, mentions this work in the Living Matrix Movie. Since that time, the ATFT Foundation has sponsored many TFT trauma relief missions throughout the world. The research that has been conducted during some of these missions clearly demonstrates TFT’s high level of effectiveness with severely traumatized populations. During more recent efforts, in Rwanda and Uganda, the teams left in place an infrastructure of trained TFT therapists to support their local communities with trauma relief and healing. Several Foundation missions have gone to Rwanda where much of the country still suffers from the horrific trauma of the 1994 massacre of 800,000 Rwandans. The first of these visits, in April 2006, was at the request of the El Shaddai orphanage, which houses and schools 400 street orphans in an old abandoned warehouse. The children suffered from nightmares and flashbacks, reliving the horrors of the genocide. Their lives and education were severely crippled by depression, bedwetting, withdrawal, isolation, difficulty concentrating, jumpiness, and aggression. The Foundation volunteers felt privileged to provide TFT to help relieve the children’s suffering, and at the same time conduct an investigative study to help determine the impact being made. The study, currently under review for publication, included a follow-up visit in 2007. The returning team was thrilled to witness a profound change in Quantum Health 9

the children, and a lasting change in the quality of life at the orphanage as a whole. In the words of Caroline Sakai, PhD, “In our return visit a year later at the anniversary of the genocide, we saw a transformation at El Shaddai. The floors had been painstakingly cleaned by the children after we left, and kept clean. They had planted vegetables and trees and they had more than enough vegetables for their meals to have some surplus to market. The children reported no flashbacks, nightmares, or rage, and that they tapped on themselves whenever they had problems. The teachers reported the difference TFT made with children concentrating better without posttraumatic stress symptoms, and many passing their competitive exams to go on to the regular secondary schools. Teachers reported marked reduction in bedwetting, aggressive behaviors, social isolation, and depression. Teachers reported higher self-esteem and increased self-confidence leading to more assertiveness and creativity and accomplishments.” Indeed, TFT helped these children reclaim their lives, as Sylvestre (founder of the orphanage) so eloquently stated: “It is like an answered prayer. These techniques have helped the children’s lives…their traumas have been set free so their eyes are set on the future.”

10 Quantum Health

Teachers reported higher self-esteem and increased self-confidence leading to more assertiveness and creativity and accomplishments.

Sylvestre Nzitukuze (El Shaddai ) News of the profound and life-changing results with the children of El Shaddai spread throughout Rwanda. In an effort to provide TFT to local communities and make its benefits accessible to exponentially greater numbers, Suzanne Connolly, LCSW, began developing a template for a two-day training for local community members so that they could then treat their countrymen, families and friends. In order to find out if this model would be as effective and lasting, another study was conducted, this time on the effects of TFT treatment given by local leaders after a short training. This study was conducted in association with Women’s Foundation Ministery. The manuscript is currently being submitted for publication, but the pre- and post-treatment SUDS (Subjective Units of Distress) indicate that the trauma victims experienced profound relief. As Dr. Sakai said, “The transformative results were often immediately apparent as forlorn, depressed, even vacant countenances sparkled with renewed energy, hope and faith, with the release of 15 years of painful, haunting and disturbing images from the horrors of their genocide experiences.” (ATFT UPdate, Issue 13, Fall 2009) Another excellent example the large scale trauma relief and development of an ongoing support was the February 2009 mission to Uganda in which the six-person team trained nearly 500 practitioners and treated almost as many villagers. The trained community leaders now form a well-organized network of healing teams that meet weekly for mutual support. They reach out and serve a total population of more than 500,000. Priests at the training who had been severely traumatized by war rebels in a seminary attack in 1997 in which 20 seminarians were abducted, and 14 killed, were healed. Demonstrating the profound transformation that can happen as a result, a team member reported: “The priests’ anguish as

they silently reflected on their memories of this horror was palpable. As their fellow priests, newly trained, treated them, all watching were eased to feel it pass, like a great oppressive weight lifting from the room. Several of those treated were transformed, explaining to us the profound compassion and forgiveness they now felt, compassion even for the rebels. This was a grace that they had longed for but had resignedly feared they would never know in this life.” (published, ATFT UPdate, Summer 2009). Similar profound results were witnessed more recently at the IZERE Center in Byumba, Rwanda, where the ATFT Foundation team of volunteers treated hundreds of people and trained 36 local therapists. A study was conducted to determine the results of these trainees treating 200 genocide survivors. Statistical results of the study are currently being analyzed, however, wide grins and cheers of “praise the Lord” and tears of joy and release, replaced frowns and cries of agony and tears of unremitting grief. Suzanne Connolly, LCSW, LMFT, has prepared an excellent two-part video summarizing the work at the IZERE Center, which can be viewed at www. Youtube/atftfoundation. The ATFT Foundation has sponsored TFT trauma relief work throughout the world. The extraordinary results have been consistent and stood the test of time. It would be both economically and logistically difficult, if not impossible, to accomplish this kind of large-scale trauma relief with more traditional, long term therapies. TFT allows us to help those populations and regions that are often underserved and neglected. The ATFT Foundation’s trauma relief blog, www. TFTTraumaRelief.wordpress.com, is a resource for all to learn TFT trauma relief procedures. It is free of charge and in many languages. Share this site with anyone who needs help. If you can provide a translation of the technique instructions in a language we don’t yet have, please contact Mary Cowley, PhD, DrMary@thecel.com. HARRY MASSEY TELLS US HIS JOURNEY -

FROM CHRONIC ILLNESS TO TOTAL FITNESS Exclusive Interview with Harry Massey Executive Producer of The Living Matrix and CEO and Founder of NES Health, author of Decoding The Human Body-field and The Unturned Stone QH: How did you come to make this journey to becoming founder of this new healing system?

my back was extraordinarily painful with great big knots in it, which wouldn’t be relieved no matter how many massages I had.

HM: When I was 20 I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and from that, and trying to get myself better, I went down the normal doctor route for a few years and I didn’t really get very far. So I gave up with that and started looking more into alternatives, mostly with naturopathy and detoxing and things like that. And that got me somewhere but it didn’t seem to have the answer and didn’t really click me back to being well. So I started reading a few books on energy medicine.

QH: Life must have been pretty challenging for you?

QH: How did you cope with chronic fatigue syndrome, and what had the doctors said to you? HM: The doctors were saying to me yes, you have it, but there isn’t really anything you can do about it. The one thing they did say was that it may be related to some sort of viral illness but they didn’t know. And other people thought maybe there was something wrong with my biochemistry or something like that. My chronic fatigue syndrome was extremely bad. I was bedridden for about four of those years, and for about six of those years, I was house-ridden; I could just wander from room to room and I would have to have rests pretty much all of the time. I had quite a few different symptoms like my glands were all swollen, I would have a very fuzzy head and big headaches and I would get liver aches and stomach cramps, so quite a lot of endless symptoms. And actually

Harry Massey; NES Health

HM: It was a bit like living in a black cloud because the biggest feature in your life is actually the ceiling above you, and it is immensely boring. I can’t really even begin to describe it because all you are ever thinking about is how you are going to get better. All you are concentrating on is how bad you are feeling and yeah, it is a pretty miserable existence.

QH: So conventional medicine didn’t have any answers for you. Is that why you decided to do your own research to find a way forward? HM: Yeah, well, I am an extremely determined person. So there is no way that I was going to accept, at that age, that I was going to live the rest of my life without being able to do much. And that’s about the one and only thing you can do, is read, so I did read a lot of books and that sent me on a journey about finding out about health.

QH: Were some alternative therapies better for you than others? How do you differentiate between one that works and one that doesn’t? HM: I must have used about 6 or 7 really quite hardcore things over that period. I am the sort of Quantum Health 13

person who doesn’t really dip in and out of things. I’d give something a very solid go for about a year, a year and a half and if something didn’t work after a year then I would stop. So I followed the nutritional route, and extraordinarily clean eating and detoxification for about a year and a half, and I still keep that up but not to the same degree. I then took on something called Gerson Therapy which involved huge amounts of juicing, fresh vegetables and coffee enemas and that definitely helped a bit in clearing my mind. But I still was incredibly tired and it didn’t actually build up my strength a lot. One of its largest problems was that it took a huge amount of energy to do the juicing, or for my mother to do the juicing, which also adds its own complications and makes you tired.

QH: You mentioned you went abroad on your journey to wellness. What other treatments did you do? HM: One of the other things you do when you are ill is you spend a lot of time Google-ing to see what else you can do to get better. And I found out about the massive detoxifications you can do from fasting and this was a mistake, but I actually did a four-week water fast and all of these huge amounts of worms and parasites came out; it was hugely disgusting. I think I was 11.5 stones when I started and I walked out of the clinic, (well, I didn’t walk out of that clinic), but I was 8.25 stone by the end of that. They pretty much got rid of me, put me on a plane because I think they realised they hadn’t actually done me much good,,,my poor parents.

QH: When was your eureka moment because if that was working, presumably you would stick with that? HM: Well it wasn’t really working and I was totally locked in to a disease process and to trying to fight a disease, and it just kept perpetuating. Plus I think my whole ego was involved in that disease so it didn’t go away.

QH: What do you mean by your ego was involved in it? HM: I think sometimes a lot of people stay ill forever because it becomes their identity. After 14 Quantum Health

you have been ill for five years, who are you? Well for you, you are actually this ill person trying to find a way out of it. Well you think you are trying to find a way out of it but I am not so sure you are, because everything you keep thinking about is the illness, so you keep manifesting and recurring the illness. So the absolute eureka moment was when it clicked in my head that actually it wasn’t all these outside forces that were making me ill, but it was me. I then had to take responsibility for my own health.

QH: Was there a turning point; a cataclyst? HM: One of the catalysts for me was when I read ‘The Field’ by Lynne McTaggart, and why it was such a catalyst for me was because it explains that every person is connected to every other person in the world. And why that’s important is because you’re not actually a separate identity to the rest of reality around you and as soon as you realise that, you can then take responsibility for your own heath and your own path to get better.

QH: What did Lynne McTaggart’s book tell you that you didn’t already know? HM: I think one of the main things was I was in this fight with my own illness that I was always searching for a cure for and I was always really hard on myself and I was doing all these really hard things; the four-week water fast, doing all these things that were punishing my own body until really I accepted that: a) I was Harry, and b) I was ill and that was OK.

QH: What finally worked for you? HM: One of the big links for me was, up until that point, I really believed that the whole body worked on biochemistry and the genetic thing and that I was genetically predisposed to getting chronic fatigue, or that I had caught a virus and that the problem was external to me. But once I started reading books about energy medicine and books like ‘The Field’ by Lynne McTaggart, I suddenly realised that everything was interconnected and that I was interrelated to the rest of the world, and that by changing behaviours in me and by what I was doing, I could alter the outcome of my illness.

QH: What is energy medicine? HM: All of reality is energy. Einstein sums it up in his great classic equation of E=MC squared which stands for energy equals mass times the speed of light and what does that actually mean? That means that me, you, this table, this microphone, although they are matter, they are also energy. But not only that, they are also information and energy.

QH: What do you mean by information? HM: What I mean by information in relation to energy is that information has a structure and has a shape, and it’s the structure and shape of energy that actually gives us the structure and shape that you could see. If we take the example of Uri Geller and he has a spoon, some people think that it’s a magician’s trick that he is bending the spoon but actually it’s not. The shape is changing because he is able to conceive it in a different shape. So he is just changing the information of the spoon and then the spoon bends. It again comes back to this fundamental thing of what on earth matter is. And physicists have been saying for a hundred years that energy is matter and again it is summed up in that equation energy equals matter times the speed of light. So forget about the speed of light for a minute. Energy equals matter. So every bit of matter you see whether it is us or the table, it’s made of energy. But if it was just energy it would be zooming all around the universe and we wouldn’t be able to see it. What it really is, is energy with form, energy with structure or I say it is energy and information and all the information is just structuring the energy, so it’s just the structure of energy.

QH: Please explain how practitioners are able to use the energy to heal people. HM: If you take the human body, the human body must have a control system and by a control system I mean a system that’s controlling all of your movement, all of you cell metabolism, digestion, thinking, everything that controls the body. Now that control system is of course energy. If you take the nervous system, it’s sending alpha

and delta waves through and it’s pulsating. It’s easy to see that that is energy. If you take the lungs breathing in and out, it is easy to see that that is energy. And these energy systems are all over the body. And obviously one of the largest energy providers is the heart with it’s love-dub sound when it’s sort of going boom, boom, boom. And when you take all of these energy fields overall, with the information, they are actually what is controlling the whole body. So if you take a healer, or all sorts of other alternative modalities, they are able to interact with that energy field, and in interacting with that energy field or what you could call the body field, that is then influencing all of their body functions.

QH: How did you get from being so unwell to who you are now; organizing movies and events? HM: It’s actually quite an incredible story. I had moved to America at the time and I had in my head that I wanted to make a home wellness system. And the reason that I wanted to make it was because I was an ill person at home and I was fed up with going around and visiting practitioners and spending all this money and not really getting better. So I wanted to make some type of healing system that anybody could use in their own homes and then they would be able to get better. And by a complete synchronistic event, a doctor introduced me to Peter Fraser, who is an Acupuncture Professor from Melbourne in Australia. And I rang him up because I had an idea about how to make a diagnostic system, but as I was still ill myself, I had no idea how to get better, so I couldn’t make such a system at all. We got talking and he flew over from Australia to LA and he had been making these information preparations. He had been putting information of how a healthy body should be into these bottles and he began to give those to me.

QH: What do you mean by putting information into bottles? HM: I met Peter Fraser and he started treating me by giving me these preparations of where he had put the information of a healthy body into this bottle and I was drinking this liquid, a bit like homeopathy, but instead of using dilute arsenide Quantum Health 15

and substances that your body reacts against, his was completely and utterly the opposite. Instead of taking the negative information, he would put into these, the exact positive information of how your healthy cells should be.

QH: What exactly was this information Peter Fraser was bottling and how did it help your chronic fatigue syndrome? HM: If you take any type of sugar or vodka or water, the amazing thing about all of these substances is that they actually have structure and that structure can be changed, just by using information. And there is a very good example of a Japanese researcher called Emoto who wrote on all these bottles of water- love, hate, and he put symphony orchestras using Beethoven and he then did all these tests where he made them all into snowflakes and put them under a microscope; the ones where he had used such words as peace and love, came out with these beautiful crystalline structures. In other words, the information of the word had changed the structure of the water and all of the ones where he had put hate and rock music, they came out in all of these un-crystalline, ugly patterns and they didn’t have much coherence at all. Now a bit like that idea, if you take a liquid preparation, you can actually input information into that liquid and once you take that liquid into yourself, that information then has an effect. Rather like the effect of the beautiful crystal pattern, it will have a beautiful effect on you.

QH: Going back, how did you get from ill to well? HM: I was still ill, but it’s like anything, you just have to try it to see what happens. But in that case, I just took these ridiculous few drops out of this bottle. I didn’t know Peter from Adam and I didn’t actually think that much would happen, but I was always willing to give something a go. When I did, he made me a preparation for a group of flavvy viruses. He made me an antidote for a group of flavvy viruses, which are responsible for encephalitis and what was so incredible was, within fifteen minutes my bowels started getting hot and my glands started expanding and I then had a fever for the next few days and 16 Quantum Health

after that, I wasn’t cured or anything but I was feeling better. But the important thing for me was that I then knew there was something in it. And then he made another preparation and this was something he called the heart driver; from that I started to get heart pains just for the next two hours and then it went away. He also made something called ‘emotional stress release’ and I just began to feel much more relaxed over the coming weeks and yes, I was still tired but there was just huge amounts of information in me that needed to be changed but because of that, I knew I was on the right path.

QH: How soon did you feel completely better? HM: I think that whole process took about 18 months and each month, because he lived in Australia and I lived in the US, I posted spit samples over to him and then he would test and work on the next part of my information field that was wrong. And slowly but surely, over about an 18-month period, I started noticing that different symptoms were melting away. Like my back wasn’t aching anymore and my digestion got better and one of the most dramatic things for me is, I had been chronically stressed for years, and I just began to relax more about things, especially because I knew I was getting better and there was finally some solution.

QH: What was put into Peter’s bottles to help your chronic fatigue syndrome? HM: Well if you take the example of your heart, you want it to produce a nice coherent heartbeat and there is a particular information pattern, which will tell the heart how to produce that heartbeat. And so if there is something wrong with your heart we would give back the information that would instruct your heart how to be healthy again and produce that healthy heartbeat.

QH: What information would you give the heart to make it well? HM: For instance if you take something like the heart, a nice coherent heart, it has something like a nice smooth love-dub sound and that information about how the heart can produce that sound can be recorded.

QH: Where does the information for infoceuticals come from? HM: We are just taking the information of how the heart should produce the sound, not the actual sound itself. So if you take something like the heart, if it is working properly, its neural cells will be working perfectly and its nerve cells will be working properly.

QH: What is an infoceutical? HM: Like the word nutraceutical or pharmaceutical, it is an information ceutical. So if you take a particular infoceutical called the nerve driver, all that is being done there is if you take the traditional alpha and delta waves produced by the brain, those particular patterns can be encoded into information, and we just imprint that information into that infoceutical which then gets imprinted into you when you consume it.

QH: Is it like a computer software upgrade? HM: Our body is very, very similar to a computer. Although it has hardware, the really important part of a computer, and why Bill Gates has made all his money, is because it runs off software. But today, no one has said much about the software of the body. So what you are doing when you take information into the body, it’s like putting a new software patch into the body on how the body should work properly and you can do that with the software of the heart or the software of the nervous system or the software of the kidney.

QH: So you can now rock climb again? HM: And after the 18-month period it was a complete 180-degree turnaround. I am now able to go rock climbing three times a week for about 6 or 7 hours during that day. I am also running a company. I have also just made a movie. I am traveling all around the world to do with my business and there is no way in a million years I could have ever done that two years ago.

QH: From the Harry who was lying in bed for four years to the Harry you are now, your mindset must be completely different. HM: Five years ago I was lying in a bed mostly wrapped up in self pity and trying to look for a way out of it, and in quite a negative mindset and wondering what I would be doing for the rest of my life, and if I would be ill for the rest of my life. So now, all I want to do is spread the word and enjoy life and do what I do.

QH: What kind of medical conditions can be helped by this system? HM: I mean disease really is just a name and this type of healing modality can actually help everyone and make everyone more healthy. In fact Peter and I, to this day, still take information, not because I need to get over any so called disease, but actually because I just want to get healthier and see where I can take it. How much climbing can I do and how much more can I get out of my life?

QH: What are the advantages of informational healthcare over traditional medicine? HM: The wonderful thing about informational healthcare is: 1) it has no side effects and 2) it is almost free and 3) you get dramatic health results and what could be better than that? Hahnemann, who is the father of homeopathy, was born two hundred years ago. He didn’t know anything about positive information or how to work out what the information of the body should be. So what he did is he took different minerals and different herbs and all sorts of other substances and he made very dilute versions of them and he just tried to get the body to react against those and then he noted down over his lifetime all of the reactions that he would get. It’s an extremely laborious and indirect method. We just said screw all that, we are just going to work out exactly how the body should be, so we are just going to take the positive information of how cells should be, how a bit of kidney tissue should be, how a bit of lung tissue should be. And instead we are putting that information in. Quantum Health 17

QH: Are you confident that the research is there? HM: There is actually a huge amount of research in a lot of these separate parts about how genetics isn’t a control system through the epigenetics work. There is a lot of research done through the HeartMath Institute about how information is imprinted by the heart and we have done a fraction of this work as well. So there is a lot of evidence and it is online if you look for it, but unfortunately it is not generally in the mass media so most people are unaware of it.

QH: How are you going to get these ideas through to the public who have a completely different way of looking at health? HM: One of the massive problems we were considering two or three years ago is we knew all this stuff and we know that what we are doing is quite amazing, but it doesn’t make any difference if the public don’t realise. So that’s why we made this movie called ‘The Living Matrix’ so that we could help to change people’s belief systems on a mass scale.

QH: What is your new form of healing called?

QH: Do you hope to do more studies yourselves?

HM: We call it informational healthcare, and it’s called informational healthcare rather than informational medicine because we believe in caring for people’s health rather than medicine, which is looking for a disease process. We are not that interested in disease as such. We are more interested in health and it is called informational because it is all about putting the right information back into your body.

HM: We have also recently set up the Institute for Bioenergetic and Informational Healthcare and that has been set up just for two reasons only. One is to do the fundamental biological research, which is really entirely non-commercial in nature. And it’s sort of proving the concepts of how a cell is also working off source energy and proving all the concepts of how information is stored and transmitted in the body. This could take hundreds of millions of dollars to do properly. So we have set up an institute to help with that. But also it’s the other side; it’s also to help to educate the public but also to train practitioners in all of the research that is being done.

QH: Where do you see this going in the next decade? HM: I think it is becoming really apparent to huge amounts of the population and to governments that the whole normal drug-based, doctor-based modality is extraordinarily expensive and is actually failing on a mass basis with all the failed drug trials, and people dying and all that type of thing. So I think a few things will happen as the government realises it is much cheaper to go this way, and they are under huge amounts of pressure especially with the banking crisis to save money. It is going to be a way for them to save money. Plus insurance companies; why should insurance companies pay out these massive bills to hospitals when they can also save money? So I think our next step is to talk a bit to governments and also insurance companies, get the trials done and back up what we are saying. But with all the evidence being there and in saving all the money, why on earth would the public not want to do it?

QH: Is this a miracle cure? HM: I quite simply believe yes, it is the medicine of the future. It is a miracle cure.

QH: What would you say to people who say that it sounds like a miracle cure? HM: Well, what is the definition of a miracle? Something is only a miracle if you don’t understand how it works. But the point is now, there are a huge amount of scientists who are beginning to piece all of this together and it is no longer a miracle. It is the future of healthcare.

SEKA NIKOLIC -

HANDS ON HEALING Interview by Donna Kenny TFT Dx. NLP Prac

20 Quantum Health

I first became aware of Seka Nikolic and Bio-Energy healing, when attending a Paul McKenna NLP Seminar. Her book “You Can Heal Yourself” was on display and Paul McKenna had written the foreword. I started reading and couldn’t put it down. Seka’s website www.sekanikolic.com interested me further and it was a few weeks later that I went along to a healing evening at her Finchley Road practice in London. Seka appears to read your medical history by scanning the body with her hands, feeling hot pain when diagnosing disease. Bio-Energy healing works by balancing the wellness and illness frequency relationship within us.

When I left the healing evening I was extremely energized, I felt like one of the children from the Ready Brek advert.

Background When Seka arrived in the UK in late 1980s, Bio-Energy was a relatively new practice. Then the more popular areas of alternative health were acupuncture, reflexology and aromatherapy. She has attracted much attention and has had numerous articles written about her work in The Times, The Telegraph and The Sun, together with Vogue and Tatler to mention but a few. Sky News, Horizon, The Discovery Channel and The Paranormal World of Paul McKenna are among the many TV programmes that have reported on her incredible abilities. Her healing hands are renowned for curing countless conditions and these successes have helped her to establish long-term relationships with tennis players, footballers and athletes in the sports world, together with celebrities and members of the Royal Family. A graduate of Economics from Sarajevo University, Seka is now celebrated as a BioEnergy practitioner throughout the World. In fact when we spoke, Seka had just returned from New Zealand and Lanzarote where she originally opened a clinic before coming to London. Her book “You Can Heal Yourself” has been translated into French and Portuguese and Seka has plans to travel further in 2010. She has a big following in France, in Brazil, and thousands from California have come to London for her expertise in the Bio-Energy field over the years. When I subsequently arranged an interview with Seka for QH, via her friendly and efficient PA Sara, (they clearly work as a great team) I was hugely excited to be going back to talk in more depth about her work and her new book due out in Spring 2010. She is quite extraordinary in what she achieves, and yet is so down to earth it’s like being invited in by a good friend, on meeting her; a sense of coming home. There is no ego present here.

I asked Seka to tell me about her first book “You Can Heal Yourself”. “I recognised that I had a gift and started to treat people, but I started to feel emotion from people, I started to feel what was wrong. I picked up people’s emotions everywhere I went. I couldn’t Donna Kenny travel on a bus or go on the underground or sit in TFT Dx NLP the theatre or the cinema. I was over sensitive. All my senses were heightened, I could hear people’s hearts beating all around me. It has taken 30 years to make sense of my own experiences, the hard way, you could say! The book is good advice from my own personal experience that will help people to follow their own intuition and respect their own feelings. “You Can Heal Yourself” is primarily about how to protect yourself and to learn through my experience about energy. When I experienced this for the first time I didn’t know anything about it! I went through a very hard time not knowing how to protect myself. Sometimes I’m surprised at what energy can do. I don’t put my name to it; it’s just energy working within me”. People who seek Seka’s help have often already tried many other approaches, so their illness is often very advanced. “You Can Heal Yourself” was written to help people prevent illness. “It’s a very responsible job”, Seka tells me, “when I arrived in New Zealand recently for example, so many people are waiting and expecting you to do something for them”. “You have to deal with that, you have to switch off any emotion and remain detached. I believe I can help, but I don’t analyse it”. “I never get bored and I learn so much from people. Every person who comes to me, for me it’s like reading a new book. Then I find the way to help them, by following my intuition”. Seka shows me a photo of a healthy two year old child, Doris, brought into her London clinic at two months old.

“She was born with a hole in her heart, without growth hormones and unable to digest food. She was dying actually. She didn’t sleep and just screamed the place down when she arrived” Seka explains. “She was very small with big eyes, never have I had a better connection than with that little girl, as soon as I put my hands on her, she just looked straight at me, it was unbelievable. That girl… she was supposed to be saved. Within a week she began to sleep and absorb food, and after a month the heart closed, she is now 2 years old”.

The effects of geopathic stress are shown to weaken human energy. It is thought that this energy interferes with the body’s own electrical activity and may distort brain rhythms and interrupt the continual process of cell renewal. Common signs of geopathic stress to be aware of are as follows :•

You have a serious illness

• •

Your illness doesn’t respond to appropriate treatment

• •

Both conventional and complementary therapies aren’t working

• •

Symptoms improve when you are away from the home

You wake up feeling groggy

Signs of Geopathic Stress in the home

There is mould in the house

Licken or moss on roofs walls or the lawn

Problems with ants, wasps or bees

Cracks in walls driveways paving slabs roads

Seka’s healing abilities were measured by the “Scientific Institute for Bio-Energy Research” in Milan, interestingly funded by the Vatican. Her Bio-Energy levels were found to be the highest ever recorded. She has phenomenal power, so much so that she has a high resistance to electricity. Her powers are constant, which is why she is often able to totally rid people of disease.

• • •

Trees have split in two or have large, knobbly growths. The branches may look as if they’re trying to get out of the way of something

Neighbours are in poor health

There are springs or wells nearby

The book also includes information on Geopathic Stress and Electromagnetic Fields and the link with illness especially ME and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Seka tells me that over the years working as a Bio-Energy Practitioner she has made over 15,000 aware of the effects of both geographic stress and electromagnetic pollution.

“Few people in the UK are aware of geopathic stress, but in Europe it is more widely recognized” Seka explains.

She tells me of a case of a lady who contracted breast cancer, who was sleeping above a major fault line with rivers crossing below the surface on a geopathic fault, resulting in negative radiation. Whilst she was away in the US receiving cancer treatment her husband slept on her side of the bed and was subsequently diagnosed with breast cancer.

In “You Can Heal Yourself” Seka explains her healing abilities as follows:“The brain communicates with the immune system by electrochemical impulses, so the body can only heal itself when it has sufficient energy. Bio energy works on the premise that we need strong energy to maintain our health or to heal ourselves. When our energy circulates freely, we can regenerate quickly and effectively, but when our energy is weak or blocked our health suffers”.

In “You Can Heal Yourself” Seka states that “natural rays penetrate the Earth’s surface and for the most part these rays are harmless. But when these natural rays pass through subterranean water, certain minerals and natural fault lines their normal frequency becomes distorted and this negative radiation can be dangerous to the 22 Quantum Health

human body and may cause geopathic stress”.

Cats are attracted to geopathic stress so avoid sleeping or sitting where your cat likes to settle

People are now beginning to understand about geopathic stress but when Seka first started out

in the UK people were resistant to her views. In Croatia this information is widely taught at University level. When Sara (Seka’s PA) was flat hunting she took Seka with her to check out any geopathic stress indicators and they spent a long time finding one where the energy felt right. Many office workers who come to Seka with sciatica are often unwell, in her opinion, because they sit all day surrounded by computer cables under desks and chairs which are radiating upwards towards the spinal cord causing inflammation and they are subjected to electromagnetic pollution. Hundreds of people have the same problem but don’t realise the cause. (When Seka previously worked at the Hale Clinic at Regents Park many of her clients were office workers with this very problem). Electromagnetic Pollution is a by product of modern technology. Tips to avoid it include:•

Use your mobile for quick calls only

Use a protective screen on your computer

Avoid sitting with electric cables under your chair or desk

Avoid spending time near power stations

Remove electrical equipment from the bedroom (radio alarm clocks, TVs, mobile phones)

Only use baby monitors when you have to.

There is much that is not reported on these subjects. Having talked to Seka about her views and links to possible illness I take it on board to limit my use on my mobile phone and swap instead to calls on a land line, and I have become more aware of how to reduce the effects of electromagnetic pollution by making some simple changes as outlined above. I could talk to Seka all night about her fascinating work but I don’t want to outstay my very warm welcome. The interview is drawing to an end, when Sara, Seka’s PA, shows me another photo of a baby. This baby was conceived after the mother had sought Seka’s help and she is one of many of the countless couples who have

conceived when all other avenues, including IVF have been explored. “Couples who plan when they want a baby often can’t conceive. It should happen naturally. You don’t need to think about it and don’t need to plan. When the body is ready it will happen naturally when the energy is right”, Seka tells me. “If it doesn’t happen the first time, fear can build up. Problems with ovaries or blocked fallopian tubes require just one or two treatments”. The baby in the photo was conceived after unsuccessful IVF treatment. The mother had been told that she would never have a child. Seka often gets the worse case scenario when couples have all but given up hope. Finally I ask Seka about her second book which she is putting the finishing touches to. “The new book is all about the power of the mind” Seka explains, “about people who’ve had extraordinary experiences”. “The book explores the world of coincidences. For example when we think about someone and they then call us. It covers information on how we send and receive messages”. I, for one, am eagerly awaiting its publication! I leave Sara and Seka for a second time hugely energized and looking forward to follow up visits. It isn’t long before I ask Seka for some distance healing. I have a post Christmas virus and am feeling really unwell. I simply relax for 30 mins at home while Seka scans a photo of me that I have emailed to Sara earlier. The result, I am energized and the virus heals quickly.

In addition to individual consultations, Seka holds group healing sessions throughout the year, see her website at www.sekanikolic.com for further information together with detailed testimonials.

QUANTUM SCULPTURE:

ART INSPIRED BY THE DEEPER NATURE OF REALITY Julian Voss-Andreae Louis de Broglie theorized in 1923 that anything with mass, from electrons and protons to Volkswagsons and people, also has a wavelength. If we created just the right circumstances and had eons of time, we could theoretically create a beam of people that behaved like a wave. While that experiment isn’t likely to take place anytime soon, Julian Voss-Andreae found another way to turn a man into a wave. His sculpture Quantum Man II consists of a series of steel sheets which form the image of a human when viewed from one angle, but nearly disappear when viewed from another. Like the diffraction pattern of a wave, the front of the plates is clearly visible, but the sculpture seems to disappear and reappear as you move past it. The sheets are equally separated by about 3/4 inch, a bit larger than the actual human de Broglie wavelength of about 10-38 m. The sculpture is stunning in both its aesthetic value and its ability to capture in stillness a concept that is often difficult to explain with words. Voss-Andreae says he was always interested in art, particularly in painting. It was after that phase, in his late teens, that he says he became fascinated with “the weirdness of quantum physics,” and wanted to “see how far I could get in trying to understand it.” He got so far as pursuing physics graduate work at universities in Berlin, Edinburgh, and Vienna, enough time to give him a good grasp of complex quantum concepts. But he eventually found his way back to art, though this time with a totally different world view. He moved to Portland in 2000, graduated from art school four years later, and has since

dedicated himself to creating works of art that are deeply influenced by science. While many artists do take a cue from science from time to time, Voss-Andreae’s work thus far is exclusively science based. Through the New York based Art and Science Collaborations, Inc. (ASCI), Voss-Andreae met Sarah Tanguy, the guest curator for the American Center for Physics. Tanguy wanted have VossAndreae do a show at ACP, but Voss-Andreae said he wanted to create all new pieces. On Monday, November 16, his collection titled Quantum Objects premiered at the ACP, and it is now open to the public. A small version of Quantum Man appeared beside 14 other physics-inspired works. You can see all of them, and an archive of VossAndreae’s other work at his website.

“The term ‘Quantum Object”’ although regularly used in physics, is really an oxymoron,” writes Voss-Andreae in his description of the collection. “An ‘object’ is something that lives completely in the paradigm of classical physics.” It’s a subtlety that only a physicist could point out, and only an artist could take advantage of. Things that exist in the quantum world do not exist as classical objects–it is partly this distinction that makes them quantum. For example, an electron orbiting the nucleus of an atom does not take one distinct path, but all possible paths, until we measure it. But we still try to create representations of an electron circling around a nucleus–first as a little round ball taking a very clear cut path, and then later adapting that image to look more like a cloud surrounding the nucleus. There are many classical representations of the quantum world used by physicists like the path of an electron, or just the idea of point particles as little round balls. Even so, these images are inconsistent throughout physics literature because people are constantly trying to alter them slightly so that they will better capture the quantum essence. Faced with the challenge of turning quantum objects into classical ones, Voss-Andreae is presented with two opportunities. One is to simply make standard classical representations of quantum objects more aesthetically pleasing. He certainly does this, and does it exceptionally well, but this is something that a dedicated text book could also tackle. The second opportunity he is presented with, one that requires a background in physics, is to infuse the classical representations 26 Quantum Health

of quantum objects with some philosophical interpretation. While the pieces of Spin Family use the particles-as-little-balls idea, he also takes the notion of a “family” of particle further, equating a particle’s spin with gender. His piece “Night Path,” interprets Richard Feynman’s technique to measure all possible paths that a particle could take by “slicing up” segments of spacetime and creating all possible paths. The result is a stunning work of art in which a divided up black box holds taut gold threat that collectively trace a curved path. Voss-Andreae says the path “connects the idea of the quantum mechanical path to the image of a meteor, a rock falling through the dark of the night, often believed to be connected to a meaningful event.” The additional challenge for Voss-Andreae is creating classical interpretations of quantum objects where there are few or none previously established. What object represents symmetry breaking? This phenomenon begins with a system suddenly being presented with multiple possible paths, or multiple energy minima. So Voss-Andreae uses hanging chains to represent a graph of those energy minimums. Some look the way we expect–a chain hanging down in a ‘U’ shape–while other possible paths look more and more as if they are defying gravity. When the system choses a path, symmetry is broken, and it may produce an equally counter-intuitive result. Concepts like symmetry breaking and the de Broglie wavelength aren’t part of non-science vernacular, but Voss-Andreae says he wants the general public to enjoy the works. He wrote in an

VossAndreae’s own career change and subsequent change in perspective made him look differently on science’s attempt to always break down the natural world into smaller pieces, and draw conclusions without looking at the larger picture. He uses nutrition as an example. “We know quite a bit about single molecules such as vitamins and how their lack affects our health,” he said. “Extrapolating from that though, we tend to believe that a diet consisting of burgers and fries is OK as long as we have our vitamin

Voss-Andreae’s work has leaned more and more toward biology in recent years, and he says he feels himself pulled in that direction. While the study of the human body is a whole new realm for him, he is fascinated in particular with the structure of proteins, which led him to create his largest piece called Angel of the West, depicting the molecular structure of the human antibody. 1517 SE Holly Street Portland, OR, 97214, USA E-mail: info@julianvossandreae.com Website: www.JulianVossAndreae.com

THE NATURAL OSCILLATIONS OF MATTER ITSELF CREATE OUR BODY - ABOUT THE GLOBAL SCALING PHENOMENON ®

by Dr Rainer Viehweger

Quantum physics has shown us that in the quantum realm probabilities and potentials are the most common factor of creating reality. But who can answer the question of how the fundamental order to create our universe arises out of the chaos where everything is possible? Rainer Viehweger: There must be some idea or plan which the Global Scaling®

universe had followed since the very beginning. In this paper we want to introduce the Global Scaling phenomenon, which can be characterized

28 Quantum Health

as the most important factor or master plan for every process in our universe in space and time. We can say that reality consists of a genotype and a phenotype, which belong together like information (mind), and matter. The visible and measurable material world in the three dimensions of space and the fourth dimension of time can be seen as the phenotype and is the expression of the mind we find in the genotype, which contains the information how to create the world. When we know the physical and

mathematical laws we find in the genotype, we are able to recognize the expression in our every day world. In medicine we have, among others, the problem of misunderstanding how chronic diseases develop over a long period of a life time. Today medicine is not able to help cure those conditions. More knowledge about the amounts of processing of information in our cells or in the whole body needs new explanations on how our body is functioning. How does our body master all its energy and information? To solve all our problems of health care and medicine we are looking for new models to explain the world which we are an undividable part of and stay in constant energy and information exchange with.

The master plan for the creation and evolution of our world is called Global Scaling. This natural phenomenon was discovered by the German Dr. rer. nat. Hartmut Müller

in the eighties of the last century. He also developed the Global Scaling Theory to describe the phenomenon scientifically. At that time Dr. Müller was working at several Soviet universities and scientific institutes after he had studied physics, mathematics and philosophy in St. Petersburg, the former Leningrad in the Soviet times. When he turned back from Russia to Germany after 1990 he was not allowed to

talk about Global Scaling by Russian order. In 2001 he founded the Institute of Space Energy Research (IREF), today the Global Scaling Research Institute GmbH in memoriam Leonhard Euler (GSRI) which is situated in Munich and leaded by Dr. Müller (www.global-scaling-institute. de). An English version of a compendium on Global Scaling can be downloaded there. Global Scaling means the logarithmic scaleinvariance, fractal and hyperbolic structure of our world. It explains the distribution of all matter in the universe. What is the reason for the Global Scaling phenomenon? Swinging, vibrating, oscillating is the most effective way to move. It needs least energy to keep moving. How do systems swing most easily? The most effective, the easiest way of swinging are the natural oscillations of swinging systems. We should imagine the universe as a system of coupled oscillators. Lots of energy move through this universe, get modified, never can be lost and are always changed from one form of energy into another. Everything is possible. But the natural oscillations on the lowest energy level of matter with the running of time become the ones to create long lasting processes like structures in space and time. We talk, for example, about such structures in space and time like atoms, molecules, crystals, cells, organisms, populations, information amounts, civilizations, moons, planets, stars and galaxies. Our universe has dimensional borders: there is the smallest dimension of quants like photons, phonons or gravitons. The other dimension is at the site of bigger structures then mega galaxies. There exists mathematical work on this, but it would lead too far to talk about this here. We have to fix, that the universe has dimensional borders in the logarithmic world, where waves are Quantum Health 29

reflected. Repeated reflections of waves lead to a system of standing waves with a certain pattern when it is swinging on the lowest energy level. We find the basic standing waves in it and all the up tunes, which are always created in nature when a sound or an oscillation occurs. This system of standing waves is a harmonic one, the same as the harmony laws in music and in the cosmic harmony of Kepler. The spectrum of the standing wave system on its lowest energy level is a logarithmic one. It is fractal and hyperbolic. Scaling is a basic property of fractal processes. The logarithm is the natural logarithm, discovered by Leonhard Euler. In the spectrum we find places with constant changes, where matter, energy or information get compressed or decompressed. The spectrum is, in every dimension, self similar and it has gaps, where there is nothing. To transfer such a standing wave system into our visible world, it must be calibrated with the natural oscillation of the proton. Why? The natural oscillation of the proton is the most stabile existing vibration in the universe. It is always there, for eternity. We 30 Quantum Health

can say so, because the life time of a proton is at least 1032 years. The electron is the second one, which is living for a very long time, but it is 1836 times lighter than the proton, so – on the lowest energy level - it is always moving; the proton is leading it. Now it is possible to look, how structures or patterns as the phenotype of the universe, we find in our visible material world in space and time, are related to the genotype of our universe via the resonance to the natural oscillations of the proton. This is the most important thing in the understanding and the practical usage of Global Scaling for our every day life but also it is of fundamental importance for creating new knowledge in the today’s scientific world to prepare for today s and tomorrow s needs. In Global Scaling we learn about the intelligence of nature how to use energy most effectively. The intelligence is to be found in the natural oscillations of the protons, every matter in the world consists of, including our bodies. The state of our health and wellbeing is

depending on the information patterns of our body to use its energy most effectively. Evolution has given us the present of our highly organized body with huge possibilities to move, think and act in the world that is amazing. The fundamental information pattern – rule of order must be the Global Scaling pattern, because it provides a long, intelligent and easy way of life. Health care and medicine research and treatment has to include the knowledge of Global Scaling into life, because we are learning about ourselves. We will find the basics of our identity and will be ourselves in harmonic interconnection with our inner and outer near and far environment. The biology of our body follows Global Scaling. The graphic below shows, for example, the heart rate. When we are resting, our heart beats 67 times a minute. We can see this rhythm in a node. This means the heart needs least energy for beating. If necessary, the heart can beat faster or slower. Both possibilities need more energy, but they are important for adapting to different conditions of life. The possibility of adaptation is well known as the heart rate variability (HRV).

Research is flowing at Dr. Müller’s institute and some other companies, who produce health care products to help people re-activate their self healing capability, which is given by nature itself through the intelligence of the natural oscillations of matter itself. Among others the research work of NES-Health is more and more based on the knowledge of Global Scaling. Probably in spring 2010 there will be a book available about Global Scaling written by the author of this small paper. LYNNE MCTAGGART TALKS TO US ABOUT THE INTENTION EXPERIMENT Author and journalist THE FIELD, THE INTENTION EXPERIMENT and runs the Website What Doctors Don’t Tell you. QH: How did you discover energy medicine? LMcT: I got into scientific journalism in medicine in the mid 1980’s when I got ill. I had something no one could diagnose and went to conventional doctors and alternative doctors and the outer Lynne McTaggart: rim of alternative doctors. I had people explain The Intention a lot about my relationship with my mother Experiment but no one actually got me better. So I soon realized that if I was to get myself better I would have to research this myself. So I researched what I thought I had and then I researched the therapists that I thought could cure me and together the whole experience was a heady thing. It was a partnership not a situation of a child being dictated to by an expert. So I was intrigued by this. I set up What Doctors Don’t Tell You. I wanted to look at what works in conventional medicine and what works in alternative medicine. And write about what works and what doesn’t work and I have been doing that for 20 years. But in the course of that, in the mid 1990’s I kept coming across very good medical studies of things like homeopathy, spiritual healing and acupuncture. Now these were good double blind, randomized, controlled, you know, placebocontrolled trials. The sort of gold standard of conventional medicine. But they were showing that one person can take a thought, send it to someone else, in the case of spiritual healing and make that person better. And I kept thinking to myself, well if that’s the case, this completely 32 Quantum Health

upends everything we think about how our world works and how the universe works. So I persuaded my publishers to let me go on a journey without a compass. I really didn’t know what I was looking for or what I was going to find, but I began talking to scientists and doing what journalist do. Pulling at a piece of string. And each of the scientists I talked to, I soon realised, were coming up with a tiny piece of the puzzle and this puzzle together came up with or produced a completely different view of reality. A view of reality, which was not talking about the world as a machine but the world as dynamic energy field. And so that was for me the epiphany moment, because I realised that if they were talking about all of us as human beings as being nothing more than a knot of vibratory nothingness, which is what we are probably, when you get down to subatomic particles, instead of chemicals and cells and if that’s the real matrix for us, then our understanding about how we work has to change, and this really changes everything. So for me, that was an enormous change in my thinking because I had grown up with the whole idea of technology can solve all of our problems, better living through chemistry. The idea that we are chemical entities and we are separate from our environment, that you only change things by doing something forceful to them, something with force, something physical to them.

QH: Explain the inadequacies of how we currently treat disease and how sending a thought can do anything rather than a pill, which has been tested and researched? LMcT: Ok, one of the things that don’t lie is the statistics about modern medicine. Now this isn’t me speaking, this is the Journal of the American Medical Association. It came out a few years ago to say that the third leading cause of death is what they call iatrogenic disease. That is, doctorinduced disease. That means correctly prescribed drugs, medication or surgery.

I think they worked it out now that it is 250,000 people every year in America alone are killed by correctly prescribed drugs and treatments.

That is the equivalent of the entire casualty list of the twin towers every other week. Now, there are a lot of good reasons for this and I do want to say in this and qualify this, only by this: I think there is nothing more brilliant than modern medicine for any kind of emergency situation. If I get run over after this interview and I have to go to the hospital, I want the best in modern medicine to glue me back together again and it’s without parallel. I don’t want homeopathy. However, for all of those chronic illnesses, modern medicine, the evidence shows, and remember, I study medical evidence every week, meticulously, shows, big problems in trying to cure any kind of chronic condition. One of the fundamental reasons for that is that biologists are understanding that the body operates globally and that although drugs attempt to target an individual cell or individual molecules, there are receptors for that molecule all over the body, so that the drug ends up targeting all over the place and that’s why we end up with side effects.

QH: What does the body operating globally mean? LMcT: What I mean by that is, say a drug is targeting one set of molecules, other molecules in your body, other cells in your body, will have receptors that will pick up that information as well. Other proteins will pick up that information as well, so something intended for one part of your body will inadvertently affect other parts of your body as well. When I say that things have a global reaction in the body, what I mean really is that certain cells of the body have receptors and proteins have receptors and those receptors, even if say a drug is targeted for one part of the body, other parts of the body will have similar receptors. They will also pick up the drug and that’s why we have things like side effects because unintended effects occur all the time.

QH: How does the placebo fit into this scenario? LMcT: First of all, the placebo effect isn’t a minor effect. The placebo effect works 60-70 % of the time. This has been documented by medicine; it’s an effect so powerful that sometimes it creates a huge problem with scientific studies. Now the reason that the placebo works is simple. The body and the brain for all of its genius in many regards is a little bit dumb in the sense that it can’t distinguish between an action and a thought. When you think about moving your leg, you activate the same neurons that you would if you actually did move your leg and so thinking something creates a message to the body that is similar to actually doing something. And that in a way is really what’s going on here. The thought of a pill and the thought of it making you better seems to activate all of those activities in the body as if you had actually taken an effective pill. So there is that issue. There also are all kinds of ties that we are just beginning to understand between mind and body. However, this is acknowledged. This is not ‘woo woo.’ This is acknowledged, well acknowledged, and well documented in the scientific literature. It even goes by a big name. It’s called ‘psychoneuroimmunology’ and that means ‘mind body medicine.’ Quantum Health 33

QH: Why is bioenergetics and energetic medicine so important? LMcT: It’s important to take this seriously for several reasons. One is that our understanding of physics in terms of quantum physics, and our understanding of biology, is beginning to meet. So we’re beginning to understand that the very wacky effects we see in the laboratory with very tiny things, subatomic particles, appear to have more influence on our biology than we previously thought. So we possibly are quantum beings and so, we have to revise and update our view of how we work. Secondly, our medicine is still operating under an old paradigm, essentially in looking at the body as a machine basically. So it attempts to fix that machine with these chemicals and that is being demonstrated to be not the way to go in the main for chronic conditions. We know this because of the causalities that we face and as I say, I am not making up these statistics; they’re in the medical literature. They’re being bemoaned by doctors. Every week I study the medical literature carefully and I find evidence every week, of catastrophe in medicine. Of big, big problems. Of drugs and surgery just not working. Drugs are being taken off the market that were best sellers all the time. Things like Vioxx for example. One of the big, big drugs was taken off recently. So we understand we have to revise both the view we have of the body and also how to treat it. What interests me is all the different modalities in energy medicine that actually have demonstrated to have real effects.

I’m a big stickler for scientific evidence. I need to have something demonstrated to me and I don’t embrace things without scientific proof.

However, there are so many different kinds of energy modalities now. Thought Field Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques. Many things like that, that have big evidence, a huge amount of 34 Quantum Health

published evidence demonstrating that they work. So what are we to make of this? What we have to be is much more open-minded and understand that this is the new medicine and these are the new kinds of modalities that may bring us into the future of medicine. And instead of pooh-poohing that and saying no, this is the only game in town in terms of conventional medicine; we must open our minds to all sorts of things that may be working. And if we understand ourselves much more as an energetic system interacting with an energetic environment, and energetic field, and that there is this giant energy field that we now know exists in terms of the zero point field, then we have to look at these other possibilities as being plausible.

QH: What is the energy field we are surrounded by? LMcT: If you dissect us to the lowest layer of our being, you’ll find subatomic particles. Now what are these? Scientists aren’t really sure, to be honest. You’ll be hard-pressed to have a scientist really define to you what a quark is, but basically you can say they are little bits of vibration, you know, we’re just energy at that level. Now what’s happening at that level is each subatomic particle is doing a little energy dance with other subatomic particles. They send back and fourth a thing called virtual particles and in that exchange a little energy gets passed back and forward and it just exists there for less than a blink of an eye. Now the exchange between two particles isn’t very big, it’s only about a half a watts worth of energy. But if you extend this to all the little subatomic particles doing this little game of basketball through all the things in all of the universe, you come up with this unfathomable amount of energy, just out there in empty space. Now Einstein and many other scientists after him understood that mass was equivalent to energy and basically when you get down to it, we are part of that field. It’s called zero point field because the same kind of energy dance occurs in temperatures approaching absolute zero – at zero Kelvin. So instead of thinking of us as a part and separate from our world, in subatomic terms, we’re just a little knot of energy in this giant energy field.

QH: So empty space isn’t empty? LMcT: It’s called the vacuum, which is a real misnomer, that’s what scientists call it, the vacuum, because it’s empty space teaming with energy. So much so, it’s so energy dense, that places like NASA and British Airspace are trying to extract energy from the vacuum because they feel like if they can take this energy out, they’ll be able to power space craft to distant galaxies. I know many scientists who are working on this. Just to give you an idea, the space between me and somebody sitting about three-feet away is enough to boil all of the oceans of the world, so that’s energy density. It’s got the same energy density as an atomic nucleus. So it’s just fantastically energy dense with this little dance going on. So to us it looks like empty space but it actually is a Plenum, not a vacuum, something teaming with energy.

QH: What’s the Intention Experiment? LMcT: Well first of all people think there haven’t been many studies on mind over matter and that’s really what we’re talking about, the ability of thought and mind to affect physical matter. There have been enormous numbers of studies. So much so that I wrote and entire book on it called ‘The Intention Experiment.’ And in my book, I’ve catalogued all the studies being done on consciousness affecting matter. Everything from the effect on machinery and inanimate objects, to single celled organisms, to full fledged human beings. There was a whole programme at Princeton University called the ‘PEAR Project,’ which looked at the effect of mind on random event generators, which were pretty much the 21st century equivalent of the toss of a coin. And these devises would often be used like a computer display and there’d be pictures of apples and pictures of oranges that would be alternating on this, through this random process. So through that you’d get pretty much 50% apples and 50% oranges. They would ask operators to sit in front of it and send an intention, send a thought and try and get more apples than oranges lets say. And over hundreds of thousands of trials carried out over 25 years, they showed a small but significant effect that

people could make more apples than oranges. People could actually send an intention and it would change these machines. Now there have been studies in Texas and many other places, California, Stanford, many, many August areas of learning and I have only been interested in actual scientific trials looking at the effect of mind on organisms. There have been studies showing that the power of thought can make hamsters move faster in their activity wheels, can change the direction of fish moving, can change the rate at which cells get affected in a certain way, can mutate bacteria, all sorts of things like that, and then there have been many many studies of healing. There have probably been 157 studies of healing, I think it is at last count. It’s something like that and a good majority of them have been shown to work. So there’s all that kind of study demonstrating that something really important is going on here. It’s not just speculation, that mind is an actual energy with the capacity to affect physical matter. There have also been a number of studies trying to tease that out. What kind of energy is this? And there have been studies showing that the power of a thought, a healing thought, seems to create a huge increase in magnetic energy and in electrical energy. That may not be exactly what it is but that’s its effect. So it looks like intention and thought is some sort of energy surge, or mediates an energy surge.

QH: Can I just say ‘I want someone to get well’? LMcT: To answer that, I wanted to find out what intention masters do. You know, people who are Buddhist monks and Chi Gong masters. People who are able to throw people across the room with their mind or able to change their body temperature like Buddhist monks routinely do. People like that who have a real, serious ability at intention. So I interviewed many of them, and master healers too and I found that they had certain distinctions but broadly speaking, they had many commonalities. I distilled out of those commonalities a simple program that I wrote about in the ‘Intention Experiment’ that I teach called Powering Up. The reason that I call it Powering Up is that we believe, we think that when people send an intention or thought they Quantum Health 35

have to calm down to get to a meditative state. In other words they have to get to a situation where their brain waves are slowing down to an area of kind of like dreaming. But actually, I discovered that during this process, a Buddhist monk’s brainwaves, (and there have been studies where they’ve actually had their brainwaves monitored), actually start moving more rapidly than normal. They go into a gamma band, which is much, much faster than ordinary waking consciousness. It’s like a person who is attending to that moment with every pore of their body. So I feel like intention is a little like hitting hyperspace. You just get into a state of absolute focus. So I’ve looked at a lot of techniques and I think that’s what it is, it’s a learned technique of a very focused mind state, a very focused heart state and many other things. Being very specific is important too.

QH: What do you tell people to do in your intention experiments? LMcT: When we run an intention experiment, first of all we get people to register, because working with scientists they want to know exactly how many people are part of this experiment, and who they are in a sense, where they’ve come from and whether they are an experienced meditator. So we take some details about everyone. Then on the day, a little bit before it’s supposed to happen, and remember, we’re running it with participants from 85 different countries around the world. They all come on at the same moment, regardless of their time zone. So if it’s 12 noon in NY, people in London come on at 5 pm, people in California at 9am and everything else between and around the world. In Europe its 6pm. So everyone comes on at the same moment. Whenever anyone registers, I send them information about how to practice Powering Up and all of the different things they should do, which is based on extrapolation from intention masters, plus science. I’ve looked at a number of other important elements to this that have been demonstrated through science too. So they go through that programme, they do that practicing, and then on the particular day, they come on five minutes before it’s supposed to happen and they’re let in because they’ve registered. They come in through my site by putting in a password and then for the first time, 36 Quantum Health

they find out what the target is. In the case of Sri Lanka, they were given an explanation of why, you know, Sri Lanka, it’s problems with the conflict, some photos. We showed some photos with the war and some photos of Sri Lanka, a map so that they could focus on that. Then at the appropriate moment, the page would flip over, music would start, some meditative music and they would have ten minutes to think in a very focused way, the intention that we set there. And I believe with Sri Lanka, it was an intention that peace, that we lowered violence by 10 % and increased peace.

QH: Did you prove scientifically that people sending intention could reduce violence and promote peace? LMcT: Let me be clear about this. What happened with this study, and we’ve run 16 intention experiments. We’ve run intention experiments on sending intention to change a physical process of a leaf; just changing it’s little light emissions, something very subtle. We’ve run six intention experiments to make seeds germinate faster and we’ve done all of these under controlled, blind controlled conditions with the scientists. And we’ve run them with very prestigious scientists at the University of Arizona, the University of California, St Petersburg Technical University, Penn State University, prestigious centers with very experienced scientists. However, in science, we need to be clear about this. If you run something and you have an effect once, that’s a really interesting demonstration. It’s not proof. You need to run it many more times. Now, our germination experiment, where we ran it and made seeds grow faster, we ran it six times and we’ve actually published the results and presented it at a scientific forum. Dr. Gary Schwartz, the Professor of Psychology at the University of Arizona was my partner with the studies and he presented them, so we’ve actually made a scientific statement about these. With the peace intention experiment, we’ve run it once. The data is interesting and compelling. It’s not proof yet and no one could ever say that what happened was. The week of our week-long experience, that snapshot and looking at all of the violence before and after, showed that that week seemed to be the pivotal week, changing

the fortunes of the war. Up until that time, the rebel forces had a stronghold in Northern Sri Lanka. That week changed everything and the government ended up taking control after some decisive battles. A big increase in violence during our week, violence plummeting and the government took control of the North and the war is virtually over. So did we have an affect? I don’t know. As my scientists say, well, it’s weird huh? That our week tended to be the pivotal week when you look at all the statistics, before and after and there certainly has been a huge decrease in violence but, I have to run this 3, 4 , 5, 6, 10 more times to be able to make any claim with certainty that it was us that had that effect.

QH: What is the future of energy medicine? LMcT: When people look at this medicine, they think it’s new but the point is, you really have to look at it in conjunction with what has come before and what has been considered energy medicine. The Chinese have been using acupuncture for thousands of years. Other cultures have been using things like homeopathy. Spiritual healing has a long, long history in Britain. So many kinds of healing modalities using energy and some sort of information transfer have gone on for many, many years and many hundreds of years in the case of Chinese Medicine. I think what’s new now is that people are investigating all kinds of modalities using new technologies and some of those are very, very interesting.

People are also investigating the whole idea of energy and psychology, healing trauma and emotional pain with energy techniques and there are some fantastic results.

Thought Field Therapy was used to heal traumatized individuals in Kosovo after the civil war there and this is published in the Journal of Traumatology and they had 100% response. 100% of the people that they tested with this, worked with this, got better. There’s no drug on the planet that works as well as that. No scientific study of any kind of conventional modality does as well as that. So there’s some huge, huge potential here. But I want to throw out a caveat. One is there’s also a lot of garbage around too. So we have to be open-minded skeptics. Openminded to accept that this works and that there are many ways that it could work and that we can’t just throw it out as being impossible and improbable just because it doesn’t fit our old paradigm. But we also have to be a little bit reserved about what kinds of energy medicines are being used and say OK, lets try to prove it in some sort of setting. We may need to use a different kind of science to prove it. We may need to be more open to anecdotal evidence of success under controlled conditions. But we must be open-minded to it because this is the medicine of the future and goodness knows, the medicine we have now really isn’t working.

QH: Can you summarise why this is so important- new energy medicine. LMcT: I think this new medicine is so important because the conventional medicine we have, does not fit the new paradigm of how our biology works and it’s killing us. We have huge, huge casualties from conventional medicine. The new medicine is demonstrating wonderful successes, in many kinds of modalities and by restricting that, we restrict our path to wellness. So for us and human beings to understand that we’re evolving, that we understand ourselves as something very different from what we thought we have, our medicine has to evolve with that too.

BIOFIELD SCIENCES REPORTING ON RESEARCH AND FINDINGS ON SAFE SCREENING A COMPREHENSIVE WORK By Thornton Streeter D.Sc - Science Desk.

Dr Thornton Streeter: Centre for Biofield Sciences

Welcome to the world of Quantum health –a model for community-based medicine that strives to prevent disease by using safe screening techniques to find the best health solution for each individual.

Kirlian finger type computer analysis system, Polycontrast interference photography (PIP) the British live video –light interference biofield imaging system and the American Resonant Field imaging (RFI) all working alongside each other.

At the Centre for Biofield Sciences www. biofieldsciences.org we have been researching new medicine devices and modalities for over a decade at the UNESCO chair-holding World Peace Centre based at MIT, Pune, India. Our team was allowed to explore all avenues to safe non-invasive diagnostic methods that could add significantly to the current assessment paradigm.

We had access to thousands of cases and soon established that when we evaluated a group of patients with the same medical symptoms and conditions we rarely saw the same patterns in their biofield images.

Initially we investigated a new breed of biofield imaging devices –as little was know about these technologies –we first worked out which were reliable and then calibrated them, one with the other –so soon we had Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV) the well- published Russian 38 Quantum Health

We also studied a large number of natural medicine modalities and healing therapies, from Ayurveda to Zen Reiki- literally!! And found in many cases that the new biofield technologies were often revealing –how these modalities actually worked as changes could be seen to the symmetry and area of the body’s biofield and biophotonic emissions.

Working at this leading edge research clinic in India has led me across the globe as more and more people want to hear about how modern technology is being used to prove the efficacy of healing and the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese medicine. In December I was invited to speak at a conference in Brazil with Amit Goswami and a number of other pioneering Quantum Physicists, who are specialising in healthcare –there was a good crowd of 900 medical professionals from all over South America. The main aim of the programme was to understand the role of consciousness in healing. Amit Goswami argued that modern medicine is based on a Newtonian mechanistic model of nature, yet the breakthrough in science that is Quantum Physics reveals a much more holistic reality for medicine, a reality that tells us quantum health is here to stay. Prof Goswami says: “When we look, we collapse the electron’s wave to localize at one place. But, between our observations, an electron spreads out as a wave of possibility in transcendent potentia.”

This is the true healing window ... “Then that undivided consciousness and its quantum possibilities collapse in the observer’s brain and lead to self-reference – a split of consciousness into subject and object.” Thus the objects in world around us are not determined things but possibilities of consciousness to chose from. Thoughts are waves of possibilities you concentrate upon to become experiences and actual events.

In this way a Quantum leap to good health is possible.

Another international guest was Dejan Rakovi, professor of Electrical Engineering, Belgrade, Serbia. He spoke on the “phenomenology of meridian psycho-therapies and quantumholographic psychosomatic-cognitive implications.”

Quantum Health 39

This new branch of medicine has become extremely popular in recent years as results are achieved very effectively A good example of this is Energy Psychology, which shows that emotional and psychological issues can be treated in quantum leaps. http://theamt.com/ http://www.energypsych.org/ Prof Dejan writes in an introduction to a recent paper. ‘Most of contemporary textbooks in biophysics are of the reductionist type, mainly dedicated to the molecular biophysics and methods of biomolecular characterization, to a lesser number consider processes in the cellular level, and rarely are committed to a holistic integrative level of the organism, consciousness, and trans-personal psychology)– although this trend is beginning to change with wider application of integrative medicine in the developed countries. Namely, contemporary investigations of psychosomatic diseases imply the necessity of application of holistic methods, oriented to healing the person as a whole and not disease as 40 Quantum Health

a symptom of disorder of the whole, suggesting their macroscopic quantum origin. In the focus of these quantum-holistic methods are body’s acupuncture system and consciousness – which have quantum-informational structure of quantum-holographic Hopfield associative neural network, within the Feynman propagator version of Schrödinger equation – with surprisingly significant quantum-holographic psychosomatic implications.’ These pioneering scientists are helping to forge the birth of a new medicine –where science meets spirit and an individual is safely screened to triangulate their exact position on the multi dimensional health spectrum so they can be aided to return to a state of optimum health, in mind body and soul. This medicine integrates the ancient knowledge that’s comes through to us from the holistic modalities of traditional medicine with the best of modern medicine in a new scientific framework which removes the dependence on pharmaceutical answers for every health question. I for one have been keenly following work of Prof. KS Soh in Seoul South Korea and his investigation in the Bonghan Ducts – these reveal the meridians of acupuncture and Traditional Oriental medicine and the Nadis of Ayurvedic medicine a physical structure –one that is such a fine web that we had to wait 100 years for our electron microscopes to prove it. Now the

manifest as cancer. http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=aaS3VIyltJQ Interestingly FA Popp recently gave me a paper when I visited his bio-photon research lab in Germany and there were pictures using thermal imaging that clearly showed the heat from a moxibustion session travelling down the meridian and not spreading from the point of heating.

evidence is convincing and encourages further investigation to see how this system functions –how it reveals disease and the early signs of illness and to learn from acupuncture and other meridian based therapies how it can be effectively utilized for treatment. Recently in the news in America a huge uproar has engaged the medical community about mammography and the irony that the test itself is a cause of cancer –this has encouraged women to look for safer screening techniques. One such method is known as medical thermal imaging (MTI) and uses a heat map of the body to non-invasively reveal issues years before they

I am also pretty excited about live blood and dark field microscopy – as to a trained eye a huge amount of information can be gleaned about a patient by seeing the activity in a drop of blood. I have experienced this test for myself and have been very impressed by the accuracy of my diagnosis – and importantly have been very motivated to make lifestyle changes as a result of seeing my red and white blood cells! So what is the pattern that is emerging? – a medicine, which utilises safe live full body screening, such as PIP, MTI and live blood analysis and a new scientific paradigm of Quantum mechanics coupled with the discovery of a physical meridian network that both encourage and demand a more holistic integrative approach.

A RESOLUTION TO MAKE YOUR RESOLVE LAST By Donna Kenny TFT Dx NLP Prac

Donna Kenny TFT Dx NLP Prac

As the Christmas season gave way to another New Year, did you feel under pressure to re-invent yourself, or at least come up with a New Year’s resolution?

Top 3 New Year Resolutions

Why do we feel duty bound to put ourselves through this process every 31st December? Surely we are doomed to failure? Are we not setting ourselves up for a major fall?

Q. What’s the common denominator in order to implement the above? A. Giving up

Factors to consider:January is a very long, extremely cold month as it has turned out... Made longer by waiting for payday. With credit cards bills for those essential Christmas items, landing on our doormats, only adding to the gloom. Attempting to implement a New Year resolution from an already difficult position takes a lot of willpower, and just getting to 31st January will be an uphill struggle.

42 Quantum Health

• Lose Weight • Stop Smoking • Cut down on Alcohol

Historically we may have relied on willpower and not lasted the week, but by using simple NLP techniques we can implement lasting change! Firstly let’s look at the bigger picture. Is it a question of “giving up”? Or more a question of “change”? By changing our mindset we are able to view a situation very differently. Viewing the full year ahead may add a feeling of major deprivation and will not make us feel positive about achieving our goal.

It’s stacked against us really. So why bother?

But by breaking it down into smaller chunks we begin to make our goal achievable.

Simple Solution using NLP

Make a Change

Using quick simple NLP strategies you really can succeed and create a resolution with longevity, rather than a flash-in-the-pan that results in you feeling even worse when you give up! It’s all achieved by simply changing your mindset.

Visualise yourself thinner, not smoking, drinking less etc. Take time to relax. Close your eyes. See yourself in the future, either slimmer, refusing a cigarette

or a drink. See yourself from a position of strength, happier, successful and powerful. How are you standing? Hear how you are speaking. Feel how positive you feel. Or simply think of someone you hugely admire who is either slim, has quit smoking or is in control of their drinking. This can be a colleague, movie star, or a friend. Close your eyes and visualise them. See how they carry themselves, hear their use of language, and imagine how good they are feeling. See how they are in control. Next imagine yourself taking a step forward and being literally in their shoes. See what they see, hear what they hear, feel how good they feel. Do this regularly to access their positivity.

Looking into the future and beyond…

Daydream yourself into a new Belief System

So imagine you fast forward to New Year’s Day 2020, ten years from now.

As you regularly access the visual, auditory and kinaesthetic (feeling) part of your brain, you will very quickly begin to change your belief in yourself. Do this regularly; several times a day! Allow yourself to daydream of the new you that you are gradually becoming. Make the picture you see clearer, the images larger, the sounds you hear louder, the feelings you experience stronger. If you associate a colour with the feeling, make that colour intense and make it flood your entire body.

You didn’t create any change or succeed in your New Year resolution.

By creating a sign to yourself you can harness this feel-good factor and access it whenever you need to. This sign can be simply pinching together your thumb and forefinger on either hand. The association of this action and the information you’ve accessed in the brain are aligned and you start to feel great. Known as an NLP anchor, you will quickly use the sign alone to access the feeling.

Too simple? Give it a go! In addition to accessing your anchor for that feel-good factor you can also:Keep a short daily journal of how you’ve done and how you feel (great to look back on and a good discipline when you start out) Enlist someone to act as a support system (select carefully, we all know people who will happily sabotage our endeavours if they are not ready to tackle their own problems). Choose someone who has succeeded and who will be happy to help.

You didn’t seek ways to help yourself, you continued to be Overweight or: a Smoker or: carried on drinking too much • What are the effects on your health? • How do you feel? • Who else has this affected in your life? Now imagine you did employ the straight forward and simple NLP strategies above, and you succeeded in your New Year Resolution Imagine now, clearly living your life, either Slimmer or: a non-smoker ore having control over your drinking • How good does it feel? • How improved is your energy? • What are you now doing that you didn’t do before as a result of your changed mindset? • What’s your new dress style? (if you’ve lost weight) • How have your relationships improved?

Decision Time So will you continue to hang onto your excuses and reach for the biscuits, a cigarette or another glass? It’s your choice… Quantum Health 43

BOOK REVIEWS The brand new book by Harry Massey

Healing Yourself and Others by Mastering Energy and Information In this book, Harry Massey, visionary, entrepreneur, CEO of NES HEALTH and producer of the groundbreaking film on the new science of healing, The Living Matrix explores how, through mastering energy and information, we can heal both ourselves and others. Massey presents the nature of reality and suggests that using his five core principles we can master life. This insightful book concludes with Massey’s vision of a new kind of health available to everyone. Price: £5.00

Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis by James L. Oschman PhD Energy Medicine provides an exciting and challenging read for anyone who may be interested in or curious about the therapeutic aspects of energy. It provides a stimulus to discussion among both the sceptics and those who are already convinced of the healing potential of body energy. This book breaks new ground by documenting the existence of a high-speed communication system that extends throughout the human body and that responds to the energetic environment. This system provides the regulatory circuitry that maintains a high level of functioning for healing or obtaining optimal performance. Diseases and injuries compromise the regulatory circuitry. This communication system is the substrate for systemic cooperation. Learning how to achieve more as a therapist, performer or team involves increasing the cooperative interactions within the network that reaches all parts of the body and affects all systems. An understanding of energy field interactions between organisms accounts for the beneficial effects of a variety of hands-on and hands-off therapies.

Decoding the Human Body-Field by Peter H. Fraser, Harry Massey and Joan Parisi Wilcox “An innovative and fascinating book that describes the biomedical structure of the human body based upon the true energy wave structure of matter. This book lays the groundwork for a new branch of medicine!” Milo Wolff, Ph.D. (Author of Exploring the Physics of the Unknown Universe) Price:15.00 ISBN: 978-1-59477-225-2

The Intention Experiment: Use Your Thoughts to Change the World by Lynne McTaggart Lynne McTaggart is an awardwinning journalist and a bestselling author of “The Field”. Although not a trained scientist, she has an uncanny ability to bring complex quantum theory to a practical language that makes sense. “The Intention Experiment” expands on the concepts of purposeful consciousness she introduced in her previous book. Unlike other works that simply offer “New Age” fluff to entice a public hungry for hope, “The Intention Experiment” grounds the contention that thoughts have an innate power to affect living organisms on impeccable double-blind studies conducted by eminent scientists. The ability to change the rate of growth in cancer cells by guided imagery, the effects of distant prayer on t cell count of HIV+ patients, and how blessed water can change its molecular structure, are only a few of the fascinating topics McTaggart covers in her book. Readers can learn about the power of mindbody without having to question the legitimacy of her sources. £10.99 ISBN-10: 0007194595
