ino Rea is a highly motivated, focused and competitive racer. Starting his racing career at the age of 8 in youth motocross, then moving on to achieve podium places in the KTM Red Bull European Supermoto Championship, he took his off-road success and experience to road racing to win the European Superstock 600 Championship in 2009. Rea is tipped as a Champion of the future as he starts his 2nd year in the World Supersport Championship with the Intermoto team, having been a sensation in 2010 achieving two podiums, top rookie and 9th overall in his first full season in the series.

LIVING THE DREAM
G
ino Rea was already tipped for success before he clinched the 2009 European Superstock 600 Championship at the final round in Portimão. Then when he lapped within a second of the time set by World Supersport race winner Eugene Laverty – and faster than twice World Champion Andrew Pitt had managed – at the same circuit a few days later aboard a factory Yamaha World Supersport R6, the 20-yearold Londoner suddenly became the talk of the World Superbike paddock.
Gino went on to secure a ride with the Intermoto Czech Honda team for the 2010 World Supersport Championship. In his debut race the Londoner, the youngest rider in the series, finished a fighting 10th place at Phillip Island, a track he had never seen before and went on to showcase his talent to finish 8th at Portimão, in the process beating his more experienced team mate to the line. 6th at Valencia put him 6th in the World Championship after three rounds. click for more
ABOUTGINO
But it was at Misano when Gino 'Speedy G' Rea really came to the world’s attention as led the race before being taken out of contention by another rider while battling with with two-time World Champion Kenan Sofouglu, for 3rd place.
ABOUT GINO LIVING THE DREAM CAREER DETAILS
Gino bounced back at the next race in Brno to take a brilliant 4th, just missing his debut podium. It was still the best result for the team all year, and at the team’s home circuit with all their fans in attendance. But that was just the beginning as the next race was at Gino's home event at Silverstone, albeit on a revised track that was new to him. The young Londoner briefly led the race, then battled with Eugene Laverty and Kenan Sofouglu to grab a superb 3rd place podium at his home WSS race. A dream come true for a rookie in the World Supersport Class. It didn't stop there either...
TEAM STRUCTURE MEDIA ATTENTION SPONSORSHIP
The next WSS race was held at the famous Nürburgring circuit in Germany. Gino was fast in all the timed practice and qualifying sessions and it
looked set to be a close race. The race began with Gino blasting straight into second place with his trademark 'Speedy G' start, then challenging eventual race winner Eugene Laverty for the lead throughout the 19 laps, while also contending with a challenge from World Champion-to-be Kenan Sofuoglu at middistance. It looked like Gino found a way past Laverty for the race win on the final lap but was denied his debut win at the finishing line, as just five-hundredths of a second separated the winner and Gino in runnerup spot.
Gino went on to impress at the final two World Supersport rounds. Battling for 3rd position again in both races, technical faults ended Rea's charge for more podium success. And if it wasn't for the two nonfinish results, Gino would have landed 5th position in the overall World Supersport Championship standings, but the 2010 top rookie still finished 9th overall in the final standings. Opening the World's eyes, the new World Supersport sensation is looking forward to the future and fighting for the World Championship with the same team in 2011.

Sponsors are very important in our sport.Without sponsors it would be impossible to travel around the world with a competitive bike, and the glitter and glamour of this sport would be much less. Sponsors of brands related to the sport have the opportunity to show their products being used on the bikes as publicity. While outside sponsors may have no immediate relationship with the sport, but they can give that extra shiny glance to a race team. Seeing the name of an outside sponsor on the bikes and race suits catches the eye more than that of the usual inside sponsors. Series sponsor for several seasons, HannStar, is a prime example. As a major manufacturer of TV screens, mostly for other brands, the Taiwanese company gave its own-brand Hannspree electrical goods a global launch pad which elevated it into one of the leading names in the business.
