Propose Ideas

The area is divided railroad and elevated bridge. The problem of how to build a cultural center which still have the link connection throughout the entire land ?

The idea is that the building is not an architectural object. It will be the journey of experiencing space, for which now the block of architectural objects is only the extra function.

Extending the approach axis, the axis of the Citadel Fortress towards area affects the building to create LINE.

Dividing the area into grids to create POINTS.

Determining position’s points as special constructions on the land. These are water towers, water factory, and the intersection of the lines.

From locating points and lines draws surfaces throughout area to create the journey experiences.

This project has a special context on the Saigon river bank- an urban city in the middle of the river. The impact of artificial elements on the available platform and local landscape identity create interesting natural landscapes.

The functional blocks are separated into ones, intertwined with nature. By a layer of the buffer space between inside - outside house, creating the constant interaction with the natural landscape outside, blurring the boundaries inside - outside house

The current situation

This building is located on the bank of Saigon River. Different level topography, which affect the view overlooking the river.

The invasion of the artificial element on a natural background.

On the current situation, impacting at least artificial elements: digging and backfilling the ground to ensure the view overlooking the river.

The floodplains with their own functions create the diversity of natural experiences.

Nature - Surface water

With the local river city context, the surface water intertwines in the landscape.

Blocks

Separating the main block - the sub block.

Expanding the buffer space between indoor-outside house. Interlaced natural space.

The architectural language

The buffer space becomes a light ground roof with louvers to exploit the view overlooking the river maximally, to open up interaction between inside and outside nature

From the site context, the project fully exploits the site potentials. The project make a journey to find the spirit of the fishing village.The beginning is the connection experience with the sea, develop the canal landscape with interesting utility activities to the image of the village river. Thereby it brings a peaceful, fresh living environment, closer to nature.
