Adobe Reader adding notes & attachments

Step 1. Viewing Comments Toolbar u From the email open the attached PDF u Under Tool/Commenting Select Show Commenting Toolbar If you are unable to open the toolbar and have the latest version of Adobe Reader, please contact Libby Sleep or Emma Sinclair.

Step 2. Adding notes u Select the Note Tool in the Commenting toolbar, click on exact position to place the note. u Type the text for the note in the pop-up window. u Click & drag with the Hand tool to reposition note on page, so it doesn’t cover the actual pointer in the Commenting u Select the Text Edits Tool toolbar, highlight text (click and drag over type), right mouse click and select Replace Text or Cross Out u In pop-up window type new replacement text or ask to delete

Step 3. Add a file attachment u Select Attach a File as a Comment tool u Click in the PDF document where you want to place the attachment. u Select the file you want to attach (text or images) and then click Select. u In the Properties dialog box, select the default paperclip option for the display icon

Step 4. Save & Email PDF u File\Save (Ctrl+S) to save comments (this overrides the emailed PDF without saving onto your hard drive), so you can refer back to your changes if required u Email

Navigation tips u Ctrl++ or Ctrl+- To zoom in and out of the page u Click and drag your Comments Toolbar to sit under dropdown menu u Click on View\Navigation Tabs\Attachments to see a list of attached files u Click on View\Navigation Tabs\Comments to see a list of comments

Editing notes u Double-click the note icon to open pop-up window u To resize a pop-up window, drag lower right corner of the window to appropriate size u Use the Hand tool to reposition notes & attachments u Click the close box in the upper right corner of pop-up to close note or click outside pop-up window. Closing the pop-up window does not delete your text u Right mouse click on Note to format text – Select Text Style to bold, underline or Italicise text. – Choose Properties to change icon or colour of note – Check Spelling to copy & paste text from a PDF u Use the Select tool document into the note, you can then edit this text u To delete a pop-up menu select the note icon and press Delete or choose Delete from Options menu u Once an ad has been finalised and there are no more changes, select the Approved Stamp under Tools/Comment & Markup\Stamps\Standard Business

Email tip u To include a reply email address that is different from your login, click on View\From Field to place on toolbar then click From... to insert new address
