Postdoctoral Fellow Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada
A post-doctoral fellow position is available beginning in January 2010 in the area of Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy working with the research group funded by NSERCXstrata Industrial Research Chair. The current research projects range from the atmospheric leaching of enargite and chalcopyrite ores and concentrates to the recovery of nickel concentrates from laterite ores using thermal upgrading. Candidates should have a PhD in either Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Chemistry with demonstrated expertise in either fine particle separation, hydrometallurgy or pyrometallurgy. The candidate will be expected to take on a scientific leadership role within the group contributing to both existing projects and developing new research directions.
