Born in 1965 to an extended family of musicians, György Déri began playing the cello at the age of five. He studied at the Bela Bartok Conservatory before entering the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music learning with such outstanding teachers as Ede Banda and Gyorgy Konrad. György has won many competitions and has performed in extensively throughout Europe as a chamber, ensemble and orchestral musician as well as a soloist before becoming a teacher himself at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. György has taught across Europe and served as a jury member for many European competitions. As a soloist, György has performed with the Hungarian Radio Symphony orchestra, the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra and was concert master of the Budapest Cello Ensemble. György Deri joined the Faculty at QCGU in 2020 as Senior Lecturer in Cello.

Daniel de Borah is regarded as one of Australia’s foremost musicians, consistently praised for the grace, finesse and imaginative intelligence of his performances. His busy performance schedule finds him equally at home as concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Since his prize-winning appearances at the 2004 Sydney International Piano Competition, Daniel has given recitals on four continents and toured extensively throughout the United Kingdom and Australia. As a concerto soloist he has appeared with the English Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and in Australia with the Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland, Adelaide and Canberra Symphony Orchestras and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Daniel has partnered many leading soloists and ensembles at festivals including the Huntington Estate Music Festival, Musica Viva Festival, Adelaide Festival and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music in Townsville. He is a founding member of Ensemble Q, ensemble-in-residence at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University since 2017. Born in Melbourne in 1981, Daniel studied at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, the St. Petersburg State Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Music, London. He now lives in Brisbane where he serves as Head of Chamber Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.
