Queensland Country has rolled out its new look branch style with the opening of their Deeragun branch in Townsville last month. The branch, constructed with people and service at the centre of its design, showcases the new look and feel of the business which has always been focussed on people.
When Queensland Country launched in 1971 the focus was on people, choice and giving community a more personalised approach to banking.
The new look Townsville branch has embraced all things old and made them new again. With features like a dedicated community corner, educational hubs for Members, an open plan design and bold brand statements throughout, the branch provides for a more customised and down to earth experience for visitors. Deeragun Branch Manager Kerry Young said staff and Members were thrilled with the new layout and she encouraged locals to pop in for a visit.

Queensland Country has been supporting calls to conduct an independent inquiry into the banking sector in Australia. The four major banks currently dominate market share, and we believe that it’s time to review why that is the case. Institutions such as Queensland Country are fully regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, covered by the same government guarantee of deposits (the Financial Claims Scheme)
and offer a vastly better customer experience, yet come up against significant barriers compared to major banks. An example of that is the build up of franking credits from taxation paid over the years by the Credit Union. We believe we should be able to distribute franking credits back to our Members, as the banks do for their shareholders. After all, our Members are our shareholders!

Queensland Country has rolled out its new look branch style with the opening of their Deeragun branch in Townsville last month. The branch, constructed with people and service at the centre of its design, showcases the new look and feel of the business which has always been focussed on people.
When Queensland Country launched in 1971 the focus was on people, choice and giving community a more personalised approach to banking.
The new look Townsville branch has embraced all things old and made them new again. With features like a dedicated community corner, educational hubs for Members, an open plan design and bold brand statements throughout, the branch provides for a more customised and down to earth experience for visitors. Deeragun Branch Manager Kerry Young said staff and Members were thrilled with the new layout and she encouraged locals to pop in for a visit.
