BRINGING THE WORLD TOGETHER ONE SONG, NOTE, VOICE AND DRUMBEAT AT A TIME. In 1887, Ludwig Zamenhof developed an international language – Esperanto – for everyone to speak. One language. One world. But Zamenhof’s beautiful idea never came to pass. If only he’d looked to the piano, the violin or to song for inspiration, he would have discovered an international language already existed, one that crosses cultural and emotional boundaries effortlessly. That language is music. James Morrison has curated a program that embodies the spirit of Esperanto, filling every crevice of Brisbane Powerhouse with music from a variety of cultures. Experience an array of genres including Australian Indigenous, Brazilian, Indonesian, Maori, gypsy, R&B, flamenco, pop, bluegrass, jazz and more. Presented by Queensland Music Festival, Brisbane City Council, Brisbane Powerhouse and 612 ABC Brisbane. Queensland Music Festival is an initiative of the Queensland Government.
