Discuss Jesus’ reaction to losing a beloved friend to death and to seeing, those around Him grieve. How can this be a comfort to us? Review and discuss the grief process noted on pages 17-22. What will a grieving person feel? What will the grieving person need? Discuss the different types of loss that a person grieving from the loss of a loved one may be dealing with (i.e. , loss of companionship, loss of financial security, loss of a stable future). If you’ve encountered such a loss, what advice could you share? Often, caring people are hesitant to reach out help when a close friend loses a loved one. Why? What do potential caregivers fear that could inhibit them from offering help and comfort?
