Without a doubt, San Luis Potosí has many wonderful places to visit, of which we only mention a few, so that you can get to know the culture and incredible corners of each place, its history and spend a great day with friends and family.
The central square of the historical center is known as Plaza de Armas and it is conformed by the Government Palace, the Municipal Palace and the Cathedral, as well as by old buildings that currently house restaurants, shopping malls, shops or public offices. The Government Palace is the headquarters of the Executive Power and the main secretariats, while the Municipal Palace has become a cultural center that has by itself great historical and artistic value thanks to its murals and its all year-round exhibitions. Just a few meters ahead is Plaza de los Fundadores, named in honor of those who founded the city in 1592. Very close there is the Ipiña Building and the beautiful building of the Scientific Institute, which was the first institution of higher education and currently is the Central Building of the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP). A visit to the majestic Teatro de la Paz, one of the most important cultural sites of the city, is also mandatory, since it is the main forum of the city of cultural events such as concerts and plays. Other museums can also be seen on the historical center, such as: the Museum of the Viceroyalty and the Museum of the Mask, in the Plaza del Carmen; the Museum of Sculpture in the Garden of San Juan de Dios and The Museum of Modern Art in the street of Morelos, all of them in magnificent buildings that have been part of the history of San Luis Potosí

TRADITIONAL GASTRONOMY OF
SAN LUIS POTOSI T
he typical food of our state is very wide and diverse, it is composed by the indigenous tradition, influenced by the Spanish food. The base of its kitchen is part of areas close to the state. Products such as vegetables, meat and corn stand out, as well as coffee, since it is highly productive in mountainous areas and due to its humid climate, in the Huasteca area. Some dishes are served with nopales (cactus) stewed with tomato, onion, cilantro, beans, rajas (mild chili pepper), molcajete sauces, chiles toreados (chili peppers), pico de gallo (chili sauce). The state has two great regions, the “Altiplano”, where the gastronomy shares characteristics of the “bajío” with a mestizo kitchen of “virreinal” origin, while la Huasteca, whose gastronomy is mainly inspired by the indigenous tradition. The epicenter of the first region is the capital, the city of San Luis Potosí, and of the second is Ciudad Valles. The cuisine is identified according to regions, due to variations in climate and vegetation.

There are other factors, but this is the one that determines when the risk is sufficient to justify the discomfort and the expenses of looking for and finding a tumor early, when it is easier to cure it, often even without chemotherapy and with minimal sequels. many people surviving cancer, or turning it into a chronic disease, is partly due to advances in treatment; but specially due to advances in early detection: mammograms are routine from the age of 40, Papanicolau from the age of 20, colonoscopy from the age of 50, ultrasound or abdominal tomography for all colitis with recurrent or persistent symptoms for more than 3 months, and so on. There' s where the secret is, the open secret. Although every doctor should send patients to these studies at the time of their annual check-up, the reality is that the most practical thing is to approach your trusted oncologist so that he can organize what you need and where it suits you; some will even give you discounts if the consultations are of this type, preventive.
