This class takes string quilting and adds a twist to the process. This involves using templates for the black and white twist star. Still a great way to use scraps of fabric by piecing them together to become a beautiful table runner or quilt. You will dig through provided fabric scraps and sew strings (strips) together to make squares, cut and sew the twist piece, and assemble the finished square. Once you learn to make one square, you will then continue to repeat the process. We will discuss fabric combinations, sizes of strings, squaring with a ruler, and options for eventual assembling into a finished project. Your creativity will be the fun of this quilting process. An abundance of fabric scraps will be provided, but you are welcome to bring any of your own.

In this class we will discuss how to embroider and color your stitchery. I like to use blender pens, alcohol pens & stumps. I prefer to stitch first then color. We will practice on a scrap piece of fabric and experiment on the different techniques of blending. I also like to incorporate shimmer threads or blending filaments to add a bit of dimension and I like to use different stitches rather than those specified in the pattern on particular areas which we will learn in class .
