Lockwood Manor features Kaye England’s fabric collection inspired by antique fabrics. Traditional in design but updated in the grey, taupe and charcoal color palette. This uses traditional piecing techniques to complete a generous 98” square quilt. Neutrals compliment any decor.

Learn the art of string quilting as you piece together scraps of fabric to become a beautiful table runner or quilt. We will provide fabric strips to dig through in class and sew strings (strips) together to make as many 8” squares as possible during our time. We will discuss combining fabrics, sizes of strings, squaring with a ruler, and options for eventual assembling into a finished project. This technique does not require accurate cutting of fabric strips or an accurate 1/4” seam. Your creativity will be the fun of this quilting process.

Fabric scraps will be provided in class but you may also bring any of your own scrap fabrics. The more to choose from the more fun it will be.

Class fees are non refundable. If you cannot attend a class for which you have registered, and let us know 7 days prior to class we will register you in another class or give you a store credit. No visitors or children in class.

Learn the beautiful art of hand- applique. In this class, we will focus on needle turn techniques for smooth edge, sharp points & fray-free inside points on simple shapes, circles and stems.

This 6-week class will take you from the very basics to a finished 54” square sampler quilt. Learn 16 different blocks, using different piecing techniques each week. This class is for beginners, however the beginning rotary class is required. Requires weekly homework.

We will work on 2 blocks each month in sequence. You will color the block, learn the stitches along with additional stitches we may add to each block. We will also discuss various embroidery flosses in the market that can add dimension and glitz to your work. 6 month commitment.

In this class, we will work on making the scissor fob. You will learn the stitches used to embellish the fob and also make the cording. It would be beneficial to have at least some knowledge of embroidery stitches, however we will go over stitches in class.

Simple Whatnots Club

We are so excited to include this in our list of classes being offered this year. In this club we will be offering 5 small quilts. Our club will run from May to November, which means we will get a new project every 4 weeks. Petite project size (typically 40” square or less) makes these quilts approachable and easy to finish. Pattern handouts feature clear concise project directions, and often include extra snippets of information providing sewing and quilt tips, tricks & advice.
