Go with us on this Fassettnating Journey into the future of “whatever you make of it”. This year’s quilt will be a combination of New York Beauties, One Block Wonders, positive & negative backgrounds and fabrics that you may or not have used before. Questions are welcome, exploration encouraged, and individuality applauded. Use Kaffe Collective fabrics along with your stash to make your own quilt. New Kaffe fabrics arriving in the shop monthly.

5 This 6-week class will take you from the very basics to a finished 54” square sampler quilt. Learn 16 different blocks, using different piecing techniques each week. This class is for beginners, however the beginning rotary class is required. Requires weekly homework.

A 1930 to 1950 club where we share our vintage quilts, celebrate our birthdays and learn about the history of this time period. Our quilt this year is the 3030 vintage quilt by Sentimental Stitches. We will be doing applique and pieced blocks that you can rotary cut or foundation paper piece. You will receive a beautiful kit each month with the 30s fabrics to make your quilt unique. Special additional kits through the year on club days.

Come make a large and small cosmetic bag using June Tailor’s pre-printed batting, a quilt as you go technique. Easy pattern and the zipper is even easier. You can finish both bags in class! Three fabric color choices available or use your scraps.

In this class, we will work on making one of the Bagettes. You will work with vinyl and installing a zipper. You should be able to sew using a quarter inch, have a zipper foot & be familiar with how it works, and have general knowledge of sewing.

This club features 12 small quilts made with traditional blocks. Patterns are designed exclusively for this club by The Flying Geese Log Cabin (i.e. your teachers). There will be no sewing in this class, the Vintage Quilting Bee is more of a learning and social group. Classes include handouts of quilting, wisdom & tips.

This class will be featuring two quilts. The first quilt will be Mix & Mingle, a fun gathering of assorted blocks, prints and techniques all blended together to make a stunning throw size quilt. The second half of the year you may choose Queen OF Hearts by Tula Pink or Flower Power by Anna Maria Horner. Enjoy show and tell, drawings, birthdays and socializing with friends.

To Hex With You

A T-Shirt quilt is the perfect way to preserve memories. This two-part class will guide you through stabilizing and fussy cutting your t-shirts to designing a pattern, custom fit to your individual t-shirt collection. Piecing experience required.

Come to hex with me monthly for the next twelve months. There will be lots of ideas and inspiration from the group. You can work on personal hexi projects as well as the new ones shown in class. Sew to hex with you! Six month commitment.

In this class we will work on making of the Fireflies. You will work with 2 1/2” jelly roll strips, receiving tips on working with the pinked edges and keeping them straight. You should be able to sew with a quarter inch accurately and have general knowledge of sewing.

You don’t have to know how to work with wool or how to embroider, we will help you with both. Hopefully this class will be stress free and you can work on projects at your own pace and skill level. We will have demos every month and you can let us know what you would like to learn. Maybe you will learn new skills along the way. Arabella - Block Of The Month

Test

Arabella Tonga batik collection features the colors of precious jewels, including sapphires, rubies and aquamarines. Creating this block of the month will mesmerize and reward your soul. A 108” square quilt uses traditional piecing techniques. Easy to follow instructions, combined with a variety of block sizes make this quilt desirable for both the novice and savvy quilter alike.

This Civil War inspired quilt was patterned after a 90 degree pyramid shaped memorial dedicated to more than 18,000 confederate soldiers buried in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond Virginia. It will be a treasured keepsake for any history loving patriot. A template is included with the pattern and used for each of 4 differently styled blocks allowing for perfectly shaped and joined triangles. Civil War fabrics used create a stunning addition to your quilt collection.

Learn a new fast way to do machine applique. We will be practicing on hearts. This technique looks so good you can’t tell that it hasn’t been done by hand.

In this class we will work on making one of the Tape Measure Covers. You will learn the stitches used to embellish the covers and how to attach the beads. It would be beneficial to have at least some knowledge of embroidery stitches however we will actually learn stitches in class. The only critical element of this class is that you enjoy it!!
