The honorable Cartel Cartel 2012 Bogotá

El Honorable Cartel is a cunning poster art laboratory that proposes, through interventions in public space, the existence of an alleged clandestine organization that “has power over the truth”. Through a screen-printing studio, photocopies and much sarcasm, art interventions proposed by El Honorable Cartel are displayed in the public space. These creations seek to generate concern among the population over the truth as well as reclaiming doubt as a valuable criterion for judgment. In the same way, this art lab uses screen-printing not only as a means of carrying out projects, but to appropriate and subvert the Modus Operandi of a cartel. (In Spanish, CARTEL means poster (1) and cartel (2)).

Satander 2013 Villa del Rosario

This project resulted in printing tiles, modeled on commemorative plaques located in the historical centers of Colombia. Most of the words on these plaques are phrases of Francisco de Paula Santander, a national hero of the Colombian independence. These were placed in the historical center of Villa del Rosario, where Santander was born and also where took legal form La Gran Colombia in 1831.

La Lleca 2014 - 2015 Bogotá

The Lleca is a laboratory that involves the graphic arts collective “El primitivo” and the inhabitants of the surrounding area of “La Peña” library. This space focused on exploring the community’s contemporary oral tradition as well as the art practice of making posters. The principal aim of the workshop was on the one hand to join the youth and the library, but on the other hand to create and print posters as a way to express and give new meanings to the narratives that they have in their neighborhoods, their transmission of knowledge, the way it operates and their common dynamics and values.
