By Danna Chino Cinderella was one of my favorite princesses and still is. She loses her parents at a young age and never loses hope of finding true love, even though the odds are against her. Luckily and hopefully our lives are not as complicated as Cinderella’s. Do you guys remember that part when the prince lays eyes on her? Well thast the moment we want to be ready for. Today I’m going to show you, How to have a Cinderella moment.
what would a princess do? How will a princess behave? All of that is important. Another thing will be to just have fun. If you are not use to been the center of attention practice talking to people striking a conversation with stranger or a girl you don’t know. I know that these might be a little strange but they will help you achieve the moment. Moving on to dancing. I always advice to take dance lessons before a Quinceanera you want to look like you know what your doing after all back in the day it was a requirement to learn a waltz. Then comes the dress. It will not be a Cinderella moment with out a beautiful dress. Cinderella if anything is known for her beautiful blue dress, so to mimic that moment the dress has to be a dream. The way I like to choose a dress is by asking my self these questions. What type of neckline do I want? What colors do I want? And what will fit me the best? Answering the questions will make the decision process easier. Finally the shoes although Cinderella lost her shoe she still manage to look good. Despite the fact that we can’t get her glass sippers we can get something sparkly. So try looking for a shoe with a WOW! Factor. In the end the Cinderella moment is about having fun and enjoying your day.

FIRST lets start with the theme. Do
?
you have a theme in mind? If so look for thing that can inspire that theme. If not try asking yourself simple questions like what color do you want? Would you like to have a theme? Is there a hobby you like? Asking yourself these questions will help you with party decisions.

SECOND Music will it be a band or

a DJ? Bands are great for entrainment there’s something about live music that gets everyone moving. DJ’s are also great if you prefer the original version rather than a live cover version. Why is music so important? Music is very important because it can change the mood of your guest. If

You want the music to reflect your personality always go with what you like and not what others tell you, but if you want to please your guest let them know the DJ/band will be taking request.
FINALLY
the third and most important is the dress. Your dress can also be a piece of inspiration. I always try to find the dress first so that I can decide the theme and the mood of the party. Remember that inspiration comes in all forms so don’t be shy to show the world who you are and what you like.

Pink, Blue, Purple maybe gray how can you ever decide?
Let’s start with your favorite color. Your favorite color can be the best decision you can make. Choosing your favorite color is great, because you can never get tired of it. Plus why wouldn’t you go with your favorite color. But what if I don’t want my favorite color?
Well no worries try using trending colors. Every season
january/july/2014
colors change and the fashion world choose a color for a season. For example spring is known for pastels fall for jewel tones summer neon and winter dark colors. So why not take inspiration from that. Trendy colors are great for the modern out side of the box Quinceanera, she will be known for her bold statement.
38
Picking a color to wear can be a little overwhelming and hard. How can you make this process easy and regret free? Well I have a couple of solutions that will help you choose the best color for your dress.
Is this even possible?
Yes it is I will give you the key to a stress free quince. By Danna Chino
january/july/2014
ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT
40
things to remember is to always write things down even the small things. Why? You ask because you will forget it. Every time I have an event I always make sure to make a list of the things I need even the small things like eyelash glue. So step 1. Always write things down. Step 2. Book everything in advance. Lets face it we start planning our quince a year or two before the date so why not book the caterer the venue and photographer. The sooner you book them the better. Step 3. Don’t leave your dress for last. I hate when Quinceaneras leave the dress for last. Your dress should be the first thing you choose, because it will give you ideas for the decoration. You don’t want your quince to look like a hot mess. You want it to flow and come together nicely. Step 4. Choosing your court. Having a court at your party is really important they are the ones that represent you. So choose wisely when it comes to choosing your court. Step 5. Make sure you have everything you will need a month before your quince. This step is the most important step, because you want to make sure everything fits perfect and looks great. Follow these simple steps to a stress free quinceanera and you will have the time or your life.

Tuxedo Or Suit? By Danna Chino

january/july/2014
When you are dancing with your chambelan you want to be like WOW! You look great, and not you look like you are wearing your dad’s suit. So instead of picking a simple suit with your quince colors, why not invest time in the perfect one?
46
To do so you have to know what you are looking for, so I will give you the 411 on suits and tuxedos. Starting with the different types of suits. We have the twenty first Century look. I love this look is one of my personal favorites, and its great for young man. This look is all about the slim fit with a fitted blazer skinny tie and fitted pants he will look great and you will look even better next to him. The second options and the most common is the formal suit. This suit is all about the straight fit. The blazer is boxy the pants are wide leg
and the tie is a regular size tie, which its still elegant but a little on the older side. This look would be great for a slightly heavier male. Lets move on to Tuxedos, every time I see a men in a tux I remember Mr. Bond James Bond. When it comes to a tuxedo the same rules apply fitted and the slim because the slimmer the better. Now some people will disagree with this but I believe that a tuxedo can to wear with a tie instead of a bow tie, which is preferred when wear a tux. Even though a tux looks great on almost enyone you must try all your options. So now that you have the 411 on different suits and tuxedo you will be able to say WOW! To your chambelan.
How to hire a makeup
artist
By Danna Chino
Hiring a make up artist is hard and sometimes can be pricy. This article will guide you towards the right direction. We have a great directory at QuinceanerasMagazine.com where you can find great makeup artist around your area, but how will you ever choose.
january/july/2014
“You want to get allof your ideas together”
48
MAKE A LIST OF THE MAKE UP ARTIST that are around your area. Then call then and ask if they could do a trail, most makeup artist are willing to do so because they want to make sure you get what you want. After making the appointments with the makeup artist you want to get all of your ideas together, if you don’t have any ideas don’t worry they should orient you in the right way.
FINALLY WHEN CHOOSING THE MAKE UP ARTIST you want to make sure you hire the one that meets your needs, and if she does not then she is not the one for you. Remember it’s your quinceanera and you want everything to be perfect, so when it comes to hiring people you must always see their personality and work ethics. You don’t want to jire someone that doesn’t take their job serious.

t e g o t w o H Lets face it girls we don’t all have great skin and we sometimes don’t know how to take care of it. So I’m going to teach you 3 simply steps to better looking skin.I’m also going to share a DIY facemask.
The first and my favorite is an exfoliator, I love this is really removes everything. Some exfoliators are not face to use every day but other are, you just have to find the right one for you.
Lets begin by detecting your skin type. If when you
january/july/2014
wash your face you need to moisturize immediately you have dry skin. If you get oil down the center of your face and dry on the outside you have combination skin. Finally if you have shine on your face everyday you have oily skin. After detecting your skin type you have to know what products to use. Dry skin your skin is very sensitive and requires lots of moisture, so always moisturize and use gentle cleansers. Combination skin is a blessing and a curse because sometimes the oily part can be controlled and sometime they can’t.
52
Images courtesy of PhotoBella
Try using products that are for combination skin. Stay away from anything too drying and too moisturizing. Another thing that can help is apply a bit of makeup powder to the T zone of your face and a little of moisturizer on the outer side. Oily skin you need to use products that have powder partials to absorbed all that oil. Stay away from thick moisturizer and always carry bolting paper. Here is a DIY facemask that will help you exfoliate and brighten your skin.DIY Facemask; Mix 2-3 Teaspoons of plain yogurt with 1-2 Teaspoons of oatmeal create paste and spread on the face. Allow it to dry for 15 min then rise.

Tiara? or no tiara? january/july/2014
By Danna Chino
56
We all know that Quinceaneras
are all about been a princess and what do princesses wear? Tiaras. Now as much as I like tiaras and the power they make you feel you must ask this question. Are they out of style now? Well it all depends on you. The tiaras are used to mark royalty and to know the social class you belong to. So why do Quinceaneras wear them?
Well
because on certain parts of the world there is a ceremony for the tiara. Meaning that she is now a women and the jewel of the family bringing her family an heir. Sounds like a lot of responsibility right. Well thank god that we don’t have to go through that any more. These days the tiara ceremony is sometime forgotten and misunderstood, so Quinceaneras just wear them because it’s another accessory to their dress. But in reality they mean so much more and can be a great honor to wear. So are tiaras outdated? Well thats really up to you if you are modern and open to new ideas or if you are classic and traditional. So what will you wear the day of your quince a traditional tiara or a headpiece? Whatever it is I’m sure you will look great and stand out.

How To Choose
The Best Damas Dress Making decisions are not always easy, and sometime you are not sure about what you want. That’s ok this article will try to make choosing your damas dresses easy and fun.
january/july/2014
By Danna Chino
64
I ALWAYS START WITH LOOKING AT MY DAMAS STYLE, ARE THEY GIRLY, EDGY, HIPSTERS, MODERN GIRLS? Whatever their style is draw inspiration from it, and if you already have a style in mind but not sure about it ask your girls. Asking for their opinion is always good, because they will feel like they are part of your quince. Now a day we have so many options when it comes to dresses, so it can be a little hard to pick one. What I like to do is look up online the different types of dresses and try to find them near me. Another thing I like to do is a shopping day with your girls this will help you with ideas. Make sure you don’t take lots of suggestions because them you will find your self in a hard spot. Shopping and trying on dresses should be fun and a bonding experience with your damas. Make a list of the places you want to visit and the dresses you loved the most this will help a lot. You also want to make sure that everyone can afford and fit in the dress. You don’t want people feeling uncomfortable and sad the day of your quince. After you have eliminated some and love others brain storm on which will be the best. I guaranty you will be really happy and not regret you decision.

What it takes to be Alright, so I know that it’s every Quinceañera’s dream
to be on the cover of Quinceañera Magazine. You may think you have what it takes because you’re photogenic, charming, and beautiful. But the winner of the Miss Cover Girl beauty pageant is more than that. She is a public speaker, she’s elegant, charismatic, professional, confident, educated, and modest. Most importantly, she is a role model to girls all over the country at every age. The team at Quinceañeras Magazine is very careful about whom we allow to be contestants for our beauty pageants and the judges that we choose know exactly what were looking for.
So before you decide to enter the beauty pageant in hopes of winning and becoming the next face of Quinceañeras Magazine ask yourself these questions: Photos By: Studio15 / Tasin
Can I be a role model? We would like a young
lady worthy of having young girls looking up to her. Do you curse, have inappropriate pictures on myspace, argue with your parents or get in trouble at school? Those are some of the qualities that we do NOT want in a cover girl. Those things not only misrepresent our magazine, but her family’s upbringings and herself. We want a girl that is committed to furthering her education, has strong morals, a positive attitude and has a strong sense of who she is. That girl is worthy of being recognized and admired.

Do I like to speak in front of large crowds of people? When we present our cover girl at

events or expos, sometimes it is expected for her to give encouraging words to future quinceañeras or talk about her experience as cover girl. It never fails to impress parents, judges, business partners or strangers when a young lady can gain the attention of a crowd and speak clearly and elaborately.
Am I modest? What we want is a girl that can carry
herself confidently and modestly, whether it’s what you’re wearing, how you’re talking, or who you surround yourself with. All of these things determine first impressions and what example you’re giving to others, especially young girls.
Am I committed? Being a cover girl takes a lot of time
and responsibility. Of course everyone has other activities, and sports, but can you make time to be cover girl? It is a full-time job of representing a dress, advertised businesses, and Quinceañeras magazine. Also you will be expected to make appearances at events maybe even after your time as covergirl, and you too become a team member of QM. People will recognize you and notice how you carry yourself. Commitment is key to excellence.
As you can see, being a cover girl is more than just a pretty girl pictured on a magazine. She is a symbol of hard work, commitment, and modesty. These things combined are more beautiful than physical beauty. It is a privilege and a once in a life time opportunity and the girl that is most qualified will win. Before you make the decision to be a contestant, ask yourself honestly: do I have what it takes to be the next cover of Quinceañeras Magazine?
