The golf simulator and studio is amazing. Can you tell us a bit more about it? Yes, it is great to be able to have friends around for a few drinks and to play somewhere like Pebble Beach but it is also a seriously wellequipped golf studio, with Trackman and video cameras automatically capturing and analysing every swing so it is a serious tool for anyone interested in improving their golf. Apart from that, it also makes a very special home cinema the rest of the time. You designed the garage to be accessible for very low supercars. Why? We recognise that many owners of this type of villa are as keen on their cars as they are on their homes. Garages here are usually accessed down steep ramps that mean there is no way you can get a low sports cars in. We modelled various supercars when designing the levels and gradients of the access ramps to the garage to make sure there was no problem for low supercars. You’ve made great use of domotics. How did that come about? To build such a large villa without modern domotic systems would be crazy but we know that many people can find them very frustrating. We used our background and experience in IT development to ensure that the systems are very intuitive and easy to use and that the technology simplifies living in the villa rather than complicates it.

In addition to five-bedroom suites on the ground and first floor, there is a separate two-bedroom guest suite. Why separate it? Sometimes, it is really nice for everyone, when guests have their own space. We made a separate two bedroomed guest suite with its own living and kitchen area and we also gave it a separate external access so that, although it is connected to the main villa, you don’t have to come through the villa to get to it. That also makes it perfect for other uses such as potential staff accommodation or even an office suite. Finally, would you do it all again? It has been a demanding process that has taken over five years to complete, but we are immensely proud of the end product and what we have produced, so never say never – watch this space!
