PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATE IN GREEN We welcome you back to your favourite lakeside beach bar, The Shack, which reopens on 14th March, inviting you and your family and friends for lazy afternoons in the golden sun while enjoying your favourite tipples and great food. On 17th March, enjoy all that St. Patrick's Day has to offer with fun festivities at The Shack and Dano's! Come and celebrate the greatest Irish holiday of the year - raise a glass of Guinness while listening to live Irish music and enjoying specially prepared menus featuring some delicious Irish delicacies. The Shack will be open from 12:00 to 18:00, while Dano's will be open from 12:00 until late. Show your Irish pride and don't forget to wear a splash of green!
THE CAMPUS UPCOMING EVENTS This March, you can count on a lot of excitement down at our courts with the commencement of the friendly Spring Padel tournament - 12th & 13th March from 9:00 - test your padel skills, compete for the title and win fantastic prizes. Looking for your chance to battle it out for a place in the ITF M25 tournament? This is it! Raise your game in The Campus Wild Card Tournament on the 17th to 19th March from 10:00 to 19:00. The first prize gets direct access to the M25 main draw, and 2nd place will be entered into the qualifying draw. €35 per player. The International Tennis Federation M25 title tournament is on from the 20th to 27th March at 10:00 playing for the M25 title. Federated players will have a chance to win a $25,000 prize! Registration to be made at https://www.itftennis.com/ As part of a series of healthy tournaments for young athletes, The Aquathlon will take place on March 27th from 9:00 to 12:00. €7 per child and participants must bring their own bike and helmet. The Memories of Julie Heel “My name is Julie Heel. My family and I have been coming to Quinta do Lago since 1986. In the intervening years, we have been fortunate to have enjoyed this very special place in so many ways. My particular special memory has to be from the year I was the Lady Captain of Clube do Golfe at Quinta do Lago. (March 2014-) In October 2014, halfway through my Captaincy, the long-anticipated redeveloped North course was reopened. Europe had just won the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles and there was great excitement that Paul McGinley was going to attend the Grand opening ceremony. Sadly, I was not able to participate in that first opening competition, however, I did attend the celebratory dinner held at the Casa do Lago restaurant that evening. To my surprise and delight, "The Ryder Cup" was also in attendance, displayed under lock and key in the special wine store for safekeeping. During the evening, I was given the opportunity of a brief photoshoot with the trophy. As an avid golfer and spectator, who has attended a number of Ryder Cup events, to actually get to hold it was a tremendous privilege. This is certainly something that will always be a treasured memory from my year as Lady Captain."
