Christmas with Granny D

“The Broken Chain”

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. - Love your children

Grandma

Thank you for the gift of love. Now you’re sharing it from up above. You had many things to say, All in a caring way, You always saw the good in everyone, No matter what they’ve done, You were always the strength of the family, Now we must let you rest calmly, We say goodbye, As tears roll down our eyes, I know you will always be in our hearts and minds, So Grandma… you must go, but i’ll never forget you’re one of a kind. -Love your grandchildren

Granny D

You were the sweetest person in the whole world. Now that you are gone on home, You no longer have to suffer any more pain. Even though you are gone, We will never forget you, We thank you granny for always being there, You’ve taught us all life lessons we won’t forget. You were there through the good and the bad, You had a really good soul, Most of all, a heart of gold. Rest peacefully Granny D (A.K.A GG) We know you are looking down on us, You will forever and always be our guardian angel. - Donteria Bradley

“Song of Dorothy Jean”

I saw you today, I glanced into the sun’s ray, It resembled your smile, The days we spent outside eating crawfish in the quiet… For a while, The wind blew… I just knew it was you, Reminding me of the Mississippi heat, You would send me up the street to get a plate of fish, deep fried, With bread on the side, I remember the hot summer rides, Just you, Ashley, and I, Windows down, hair blowing in the wind taking over the town, I felt so protected when you were around, I could never forget where I come from, I come from fish fries, crawfish boils, and Mississippi heat, I come from LOVE… Most of all, I could never forget you Grandma, As long as the sun beams and the wind whispers the name Dorothy Jean, I know natures memorabilia will bring you back to me.

TOGETHER

Again...
