you lit a fire in me to keep yourself warm then after you left that fire continued to burn until there was nothing left of me.

PERSON (TIME SPENT)
Spend some time to wonder where the time went You’ve never looked so grown Mother says be careful in the city As if she’d been there before Remember days way back when you were fifteen You ran through fields ‘round back With your dog, I’m sure he’s gonna miss you Maybe spend some time And think about your home You’re just a person Come back home You’re just a person Come back

THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM
Come one! Come all! The show’s about to start!
Watch lightning bolts blast through well-grounded men.
After the flash, the flesh hangs looser then.
Come splatter love and guts across the walls as angel blaze burns the founding kings
who sit on thrones with straps and stare ahead
and clench their teeth, keeping things unsaid.
