How meditation helps to get rid of anxiety

Meditation makes you calm and gives you the inner strength to face any situation. It instills in you the faith that whatever happens will happen for the best, even if that ‘whatever’ is unknown to you.

Meditation helps you drop the anxiety about the unknown future and brings your mind to the present moment – the only time where action is possible (can you act in the future?) With a relaxed mind, you are able to carry out the required action by overcoming fear.

One of the causes of anxiety is lack of prana (life force energy). Meditation increases the prana level in the body and the anxiety automatically drops.

When your body is alive with more prana, you feel alert, energetic, and full of good humor. A lack of prana results in lethargy, dullness and poor enthusiasm.

You might have often heard the term ‘adrenalin rush’. This happens when we get too anxious about a potential threat. For instance, while taking an adventure ride. At such a time, the level of adrenalin hormone goes higher, leading our heart to beat faster, making


the muscles tense and our body sweat profusely. Scientific research has shown that regular meditation practice can help significantly reduce the level of this stress hormone.
