How can the Vijfhoekpark be a connection between Zaandam South and ‘‘Havenstad’’?
Assignment: Vijfhoek park in Zaandam.
It´s a small park along the N516. It´s not easily accesible and also not attractive to visit, because of the surroundings.
But it´s a park with a lot of potential. Definitly in the future when ´´Havenstad´´ will be developed.
It´s located in the middle of all the green structures and I would like facilitate a connection between the park and the two city districts and surroundings.

Concept

• North - South will be the route for the residents of ‘‘Havenstad’’ and Zaandam South. • East - West will be the connection of the park with the current green and water structures. • Vijfhoekpark will be the center for the green and water structure and the residents. • The road is the biggest barrier for the connection, therefore it needs to be lifted. The conclusion from the Current situation: • There is a lot of noise from provincial road • Dike is functional - road. • Green strips with only grass • No footpaths along the water or the dike
