ATHLETES’ GUIDE

I was your Cardimax-Clark Ultramarathon mentor in 2015, a participant and the Champion at the 100k Championship for the second and third edition. Clark Ultramarathon was the race that allowed and supported me to be able to represent the country in my first international race, TITI ULTRA Malaysia 2017, one of the toughest road ultramarathon in Asia where I bagged the championship in the 250Kilometer Distance. It was the first of many, as RaceYaya, together with its partners and supporters, continued to support my other conquest thereafter. Clark Ultramarathon is a race where runners of all abilities can run and have fun while challenging himself to find their limits and beat them. See you in the roads of Clark Freeport Zone!

Wilnar Iglesia is a long distance road and trail runner. He ran his first race (a 5k) year in 2008 to get fit. He is one of the leading road and trail ultramarathoner in the country and is currently one of the top five in the Asia Trail Master Series. He is an engineer by profession and has a full-time day job.

Back in 2010, during my early years of running, I would wake up at 3am on weekends and drive to Clark with my friends to train for my first few ultramarathon races. I always enjoyed running on those nicely paved treelined roads and wide highways which is a mix of flat and rolling terrain; not to mention the wide choices of restaurants in the area. The idea of having an ultramarathon race in Clark has always been in my mind. Having raced various distances from 5Ks to 200K, I have nurtured the intention to “pay it forward” to the community that has helped me sustain my love for running; a community that is a mix of aspiring and seasoned ultramarathoners. All of this came into fruition when we staged our first Clark Ultramarathon in 2015. For four years, it’s been a joy to be able to gather everyone in the roads of Clark. Tin Ferrera is an ultramarathoner and a crossfit and yoga enthusiast. She ran her first race (5k) in late 2008 and her first marathon and ultramarathon in 2010. She is a CPA, an entrepreneur, one of the founders of RaceYaya and is the head of a Management Consultancy firm. . Clark Ultramarathon is about giving everyone an experience that will be challenging yet enjoyable and memorable. And this would not have been possible if not for the help of our friends who have been part of the race organization since 2015, our supporters, our media partners, sponsors and our race challengers. Welcome to Clark Ultramarathon 2018! #
