SOLAR DISC
ORIGIN
This type of solar disc is one of many variations found in 17th century Swedish churches. It is overlapped to serve as saferty features on both sides of the banknote design.
SECURITY FEATURE
Like above, the number of solar discs increase as the denomination of the banknote increases. They have an irridescent sheen that changes from one color to another from different angles.
BACK: RENEWABLE ENERGY
The front of each banknote features a famous Swedish scientist whose contributions have significantly changed Sweden and the rest of the world. The scientists are Berzelius (10), Nobel (25) and Linnaeus (100).
HORSE PATTERN
ORIGIN
It is one of the earliest Scandinavian textiles from the 9th century. It is incorporated on top of numbers on both sides of the banknote and is watermarked on the back side of the banknote.
SECURITY FEATURE
The number of hooks increase as the denomination of the banknote increases (i.e. 10 SEK has 3, 25 SEK has 4 and 100 SEK has 5). The watermark on the back meant to be slightly indented.
Each banknote features a power plant of a renewable energy source in the background and the back of the design. The energy sources featured are solar energy (10), wind power energy (25) and geothermal energy (100).
CHECK PATTERN
ORIGIN
It is derived from woven fragments buried along the Swedish Queen Ă…sa who died in the 9th century. It is used along the edge of all banknotes and serves as a margin for some elements within the design.
SECURITY FEATURE
The edge of the backnote with checks is matched to align on both sides. It is also used for verification that the banknote is a genuine copy of the legal tender: the Swedish Krona.
