WEEK 9 READING: TITLE OF READING
Question 1: What are Durer’s rules for perspectival projection? (Maximum 100 words) Perspective means that a person looks through a window in the space in Durer’s rule. The cental vanishing point is determined by the perpendicular drawn from the eye to the picture plane;All parallel lines have a common vanishing point regardless of direction;However, if the parallel creats a 45 degree angle with the picture plane, then the distance between their vanishing point is equal to the distance between the eye and the picture plane;What’s more, equal dimentions dimnish progressively as they recede in space.
Question 2: Describe homogenous space? (Maximum 100 words)
Homogenous space is where you could draw similar object in any direction and any magnitude from any given point in a space.It is the result of a purely mathmatrical projection of perspective view, which relies on a number of untrue assumptions of the human eye.

Isometric drawing with notations: Using different notations to represent the story. The height of the arrow, the height is larger, the speed of the person is faster. The mood also changes with the path.

QUAD PERSPECTIVE 1 + 2 I choose this view because this angle can present more directions of backgrounds.In this scence, I want to show the dark background of the city and the stair to the city.I also want to make this scen to present the street of Argia.
This shot looks simple, however, I want to present more background of the city. I use the wide site(the door) to show the depth of the city. I will put more elements in the background.

PERSPECTIVE SCENE 1 + 2
In this perspective scene, I put the stairs which has already mentioneed in the text, I try to put some dirt around the stair. The whole decoration for the ground and the wall are dirty and break. I put a little boy which looks tired and weak resting back on the wall, the woman and her child also looks exausted and powerless and there are some people lying on the middle ground, they looks like at the last gasp. I use these to present that Argia is a dead city, peope are dying and the atmosphere is heavy and full of death.
This scene shows more information of death in this city. These scary skulls and bones show the death. There is a person climbing on the ground, he is struggling with death. Also, the view of the city is humid and bleak like a wasteland. It is an underground city.

Question 1: IWhat is the difference between autographic and allographic practice? (Maximum 100 words) Autographic is more of the arts like painting and sculpture which requires the direct contact from the artist, such as one’s sculpter,paintings,drawings. Allographic refers to a practice where the subject is able to be reproduced at a distance and possibly without limit.
Question 2: Why do architects need new representational techniques? (Maximum 100 words) With the city’s changing and developing,architects also need new representational techniques to follow all of those new needs in the morden world.

In the story, it points that the difference of the city is “earth instead of air”, “From up here, nothing of Argia can be seen”, therefore, the city is underground city. All the perspectives show the underground view of this city.

Argia is not a beautiful city, it is full of dirt in the street and the stair. Also,the residents are mostly like dying, at their tired,weak,like dying,waiting the last gasp. Therefore, most of the characters I chose are lying on the ground. There is no active in Argia.

For the path, I use different height of the arrow to present the speed of walking. In my opinion,Argia is the death city. The death means the end. It may also contains ghost because ‘you can sometimes hear a door slam’.
