HELLO, MY NAME IS RACHEL WALCHONSKI. I’M A THIRD YEAR INTERIOR DESIGN STUDENT AT PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY. MY GOAL IS TO OBTAIN AN INTERNSHIP WITHIN THE DESIGN INDUSTRY TO FURTHER MY KNOWLEDGE OF MY FUTURE CAREER. I AM EXTREMELY PASSIONATE ABOUT HOSPITALITY DESIGN, AND HOPE TO FURTHER A CAREER IN RESTAURANT AND HOTEL DESIGN.

THE ANTELOPE WAS A PROJECT THAT WAS DESIGNED IN MANAYUNK, PENNSYLVANIA. SERVING AS AN OUTDOOR SPORTING GOODS STORE, THE ANTELOPE WAS THE FIRST RETAIL PROJECT I HAD DESIGNED. THE CONCEPT WAS TO CONNECT ALL THREE FLOORING USING LINEAR ELEMENTS. REVIT, RHINO, 3DS MAX, AND PHOTOSHOP WERE USED TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT 6

THIS CITY LOFT PROJECT WAS COMPLETED FOR AN ADVANCED VISUALIZATION CLASS. THE POINT OF THE PROJECT WAS TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH SKETCHUP AND 3DS MAX SOFTWARE. ALL MODELING WAS DONE IN SKETCHUP AND THEN IMPORTED INTO 3DS MAX TO COMPLETE THE FULL RENDERINGS.

“SAVE THE RAINFOREST” WAS A PROJECT THAT WAS SUBMITTED FOR THE 2016/2017 IDEC COMPETITION. THE CONCEPT OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A LEARNING CENTER FOR VOLUNTEERS THAT WILL BE PLACED IN THE AMAZON. THE CONCEPT BEHIND THE DESIGN WAS TO CREATE A SPACE THAT EMULATED MOVEMENT AND LAYERS INSPIRED BY AMAZONIAN ARCHITECTURE 16

LOCATED IN BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN, THIS HOLLISTIC HEALTH CENTER WAS DESIGNED TO BRING HEALTH AWARENESS INTO THE COMMUNITY. THE CONCEPT OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A FLOOR PLAN BASED OFF OF CURVED LINEAR, WHILE USING NATURAL COLOR AND TEXTURED FINISHES.

THIS PROJECT WAS DESIGNED AT THE 2016 JACOBS DESIGN COMPETITION IN PHILADELPHIA. NINE STUDENTS FROM PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY WERE CHOSEN TO PARTICIPATE IN A SEVEN HOUR CHARETTE, WHERE WE WERE TO DESIGN A TEXTILE SHOWROOM. THE CONCEPT BEHIND THIS PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A SPACE BASED OFF OF CHANGE OF LEVELS AND GEOMETRIC SHAPES
