Place-making- Glasgow Subway Design
This is a project about redesigning the Glasgow Subway. The project embraces the aesthetic of the surroundings and aims to capture the everyday context. Keeping the existing resources, tools, and possibilities in mind, new subway interventions are proposed to connect to the local conditions. The intention is to create a sense of identity specifically respond to the site through the design of services, material and spatial experience. They will be placed out both underground the overground within the subway station which form the idea of “place-making”. Tailor-made amenity are designed for each station, to cater to it’s commuters. These include a book Shop with exhibition space, florist with newsagent, and deli with take Away. Each giving a new dimension to each subway and creating personal connection with the stations, rather than just a transitional space.
