Taiwan Innocence Project Stop-Motion Animation / Illustration The Taiwan Innocence Project, a non-profit organisation addressing wrongful convictions in Taiwan, commissioned 50 illustrations from me for the organisation to be used in a stop-motion animation for their ongoing documentary. This film focuses on the wrongful 18-year sentence of Jin-Long Lin due to a drug delivery charge.

三甲緣 Samka Branding

Logo Design - Mascot In ancient China, drinking Samka Wine was believed to lead to success in the imperial examination and government service. This mascot draws inspiration from the black gauze cap worn by bureaucrats.

Logo Design - Lettermark The design combined Samka's Mandarin characters and the shape of the Chinese wine pot.

Wine Label Design Qilin is a creature from Chinese mythology, and the label's graphic depicts a heroic and bold Qilin adorned with the Hakka pattern on its body.

Poster Design Designed three types of posters to make a connection with a different group of audiences. These posters were put on the online shop to promote the product.

A bartender and a girl fell in love due to their shared interests and viewpoints. Despite objections from the girl's parents over his career choice, the bartender, determined to win their approval, partnered with a friend to create the brand Samka Wine and produce the girl's favorite wine.

About the Story In the story, the chick transformed to resemble a pig because of taunts from other pigs. He soon realized that pretending to be someone else didn't bring him happiness and learned the importance of being himself. In the end, he reverted to his happy, original self.

The completed story could be read at: https://issuu.com/rachiu/docs/a_surprising_egg

Inspiration The story raises a series of questions that are worth discussing. For example, why do many people care so much about how others think of them? Is it because they are eager to please others? Is it worth sacrificing their thoughts, experiences, and feelings just because of others' comments?

Joshua is a shy and lonely boy. But his life is changed one day when he meets his shadow. They go on a journey to discover the infinite possibilities of the world. With Shadow’s help, Joshua builds up the courage to make some friends of his own. The completed story could be read at: https://issuu.com/rachiu/docs/into_the_lightness

Into s s e n t the L i g h

Inspiration The idea for the story stemmed from the feelings experienced during the lockdown. Staying at home made it more challenging for people to meet new friends and cope with loneliness. Spending the majority of their time alone could lead people to easily lose their social skills.
