LGSF are one of the largest volume producers of load bearing, light gauge steel sections, panels, and volumetric solutions for use in construction in the UK, and is known for providing high-quality products, first class design services and innovative solutions for customers DfMA projects. LGSF have been supplying modular manufacturers, building contractors and self-builders with both hot rolled and light gauge steel solutions for over 30 years.
Recent large-scale investments in innovative factory technology have delivered a significant increase in panel assembly capacity, bolstering the high rolling capability via a fleet of 15 framing section mills. In addition, expansion into two further satellite assembly facilities has enhanced the organisation’s robust and flexible delivery capability to respond to the rapidly evolving dynamic requirements of construction customers, whilst also satisfying the requirements of customers with long standing forecasted workload.
High quality CNC produced steel sections for self-assembly are ideal for modular building contractors who rely on a regular supply of pre-engineered sections to feed their assembly line; whilst utilising pre-assembled panels and steel frames can drastically accelerate the build phase onsite and are ideal when supply at pace is required.
The sections are built at one of LGSF’s 5 assembly facilities, or directly within the customers manufacturing line, before being volumised, or dispatched for onsite erection.

FLEXIBILITY IS OUR ADDED VALUE
Developers before we became manufacturers, we’re committed to protecting choice in the design process and to offering hybrid solutions that combine traditional with modern methods of construction.
There are just two things we’re not flexible on. Precision manufacturing to your exact specifications and our “fabric first” approach, that radically reduces energy use in the construction of buildings and in their operation.
UNisystem panels, walls and floors are suitable for much more than simply house, mid-rise and high rise apartments blocks. They are readily adaptable for student accommodation, education, healthcare and commercial projects, of all sizes.
Designers and developers have complete control over architectural features and have the option to manufacture basic or “fully dressed” panels for internal and external walls and floors. The light gauge steel at the core of UNisystem is dressed
with board, insulation, fire stopping and external cladding to your exact design specifications.
Our hybrid solutions bring traditional and modern methods of construction together, in alignment with your individual ambitions and needs. We’re here to support you at every stage of your transition to offsite, from as early as pre-planning, with land optimisation and logistics consultancy, as well as preplanning design.
Our precision manufacturing and fabric first approach to construction save energy by making sure it isn’t needed in the first place. We manufacture panels that create air tight, highly insulated buildings that use less energy in operation.
Our UNipanel significantly outperforms the requirements of current Building Regulations (ADL2021), and UNiSystem is expected to outstrip the requirements of the Future Homes Standard which comes into operation in 2025.
So let’s start the conversation about your project, using the flexible UNisytem product range that’s leading the way on build quality and energy efficiency standards.

Hybrid. The Pragmatists’ Revolution.
If you know the construction industry, you know all too well the risks and delays projects are vulnerable to: labour and skills shortages, supply chain delays, onsite storage and delivery issues, and the demands of meeting environmental sustainability and health and safety commitments.
If you’re a pragmatist, you’ll look for a way of overcoming them.

VOESTALPINE METSEC
Occupying a prime space directly in front of one of the show’s main entrances, Metsec’s 12m x 6m stand at Offsite Expo will not only be easy to find but promises to provide visitors with an immersive experience of the company’s pre-panelised framing solution, Metframe.
The stand is organised neatly into two distinct areas: The first offers a visitor reception and consultation area with interactive video presentations, whilst the second features full-sized Metframe panels in typical wall build-ups with proprietary insulation and board materials.
Metframe Sales Manager, Tom Lench comments, “Most architects, contractors and engineers will be familiar with the weight, price and programme benefits that Metframe delivers through its light weight, economy and efficiency. Our objective for Offsite Expo 2023 is to build on this reputation, not only by demonstrating these intrinsic features but also presenting the many other benefits that make the Metsec solution so compelling.
“Our commitment to making the entire design, specification and installation process as easy and risk-free as possible has never been greater than it is today, clearly demonstrated through our comprehensive independent performance testing, solution design and approved installation.
“Independent testing of Metframe fire, acoustic and thermal performance with the latest of insulation and boards from leading manufacturers removes commercial tie-ins with materials producers, assuring choice, economy and availability.
“Our dedicated team of designers and engineers typically creates complete, fully-costed designs, including accurate construction programmes and embodied carbon calculations within two weeks, whilst our minimum £5 million professional indemnity, 30-year warranty and presence on specifier systems such as NBS Source and RIBA CPD provide total confidence in our understanding of the needs of the modern design and construction professional.
“The assurance this provides is continued through our national network of approved installation partners, ensuring that the quality, economy and efficiency injected during the design process are not compromised when it comes to construction.”

LIGHT STEEL FRAME ASSOCIATION (LSFA)
Light Steel Frame Association (LSFA) works to drive engagement, champion change and share information that showcases the benefits of contemporary light steel systems. As the leading representative body for the sector, our goal is to provide the light steel frame industry with a single unified voice.
Light steel frame (LSF) is the most technically advanced material in the offsite technology portfolio. It offers exceptional productivity, performance and sustainability benefits. Our objective is to effectively communicate the many benefits of light steel frame technology and its ability to meet the exacting demands of the offsite industry to a wider construction audience.
The LSFA works to increase awareness and highlight the performance and environmental credentials of our member’s systems and products, raising the profile of LSF panelised and modular solutions. The association also supports a circular construction economy through engagement, information sharing and debunking myths surrounding the environmental impact of steel construction.
As part of our commitment to driving steel sustainability benefits, the LSFA
has created detailed guides and documents, promoting a design-forreuse and disassembly approach. Steel is fundamental in achieving a circular economy. Its components can be remanufactured, reused or recycled endlessly without detriment to its properties. Through engagement with the wider construction sector, we identify challenges and help find market-wide solutions, allowing our members to exceed performance, compliance and sustainability requirements.
The LSFA are exhibiting on stand J14, with experts on hand to talk to delegates about our latest campaign, ‘Sustainable Steel’ which promotes the overarching sustainability credentials and advantages of light steel frame in a positive and informative way.
With a wealth of experience and technical know-how, the LSFA represents manufacturers, installers, industry supply chains, architects, engineers, consultants and clients operating throughout the light steel sector.

MODULAR AND PORTABLE BUILDING ASSOCIATION (MPBA)
Leading best practice principles, the MPBA plays a key role in driving specification, supporting innovation and representing volumetric modular technology at a governmental level. The association is represented on many committees for the benefit of members and most importantly, ensures evolving government policies are not made without due consideration for the impact this legislation may have on the volumetric modular sector.
Founded in 1938, the MPBA has represented this advanced and highly innovative sector for over 80 years. Becoming a member opens doors to valuable business development, training and collaboration opportunities. MPBA members are also able to gain news and important information first, together with privileged access to industry events.
Specialist Training
The Modular and Portable Building Specialist Accreditation and Training Centre was conceived to deliver specific qualifications to the sector it represents. The facility, which is located in Coventry, West Midlands – offers a dedicated environment for industry experts to share valuable knowledge away from the pressures of the workplace.
The learning hub provides National Vocational Qualifications, Training and Apprenticeships in partnership with local and national providers. The MPBA has developed a specific qualification for operatives, in addition to specialist training on electrical systems and is now developing an apprenticeship for the sector through the Trailblazer Programme. Unlike regional training providers, course content is developed in collaboration with members to ensure it meets the specialised needs of the sector.
The MPBA also works with key partners in specialist areas such as legal, insurance, employment, health and safety to offer industry specific business support together with technical and training services to help businesses reach their full potential.
