WELCOME! We are so excited that you are interested in choosing us to document your special day! We believe that choosing a wedding photographer is about more than just hiring someone with a camera to document your day. Your wedding photographers should be people who make you feel comfortable, ease the craziness of a wedding day, and, just maybe, eventually feel like friends. We feel proud to say that’s often how our couples describe us. We’re fine art photographers based in Durham, North Carolina. We love beauty of a moment. We strive to create beautiful images that are classic, natural, and tell the story of each day. More than anything, we love working with couples who are engage in the powerful work of building a marriage because we believe in the unseen wonder and power of intentionally crafted relationships. We were married in 2013 and we live with our beautiful son, Everest, and our sweet pup – a lab-shepherd mix with her own hashtag (#puppygirliris)! When we’re not photographing weddings, we love traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with our friends and families. THE PROCESS
After photographing dozens of weddings over the past few years, we’ve found that we’re not the perfect fit for every couple. That’s why this process begins with a conversation. We want to hear everything— how you met, funny first date stories, and how y’all got engaged. We’ll get to know one another, talk about the details of your day, answer any the best fit for each other. If we are a great fit, the next step is to reserve your date with a signed contract and a retainer. From there, we’ll begin planning your engagement session. There might be a few months in between your session and your wedding, but we’re always around to answer questions you have throughout the planning process (we know it’s a lot to think about!). About two months before the big day, we’ll check in again with a pre-wedding questionnaire to help us finalize the timeline, create the family formal shot list, and to make sure we’re fully prepared to photograph your wedding. After the wedding, we’ll send your film off to our lab and once they deliver the digital film scans back to us, we’ll edit the images and upload them in an online gallery. You can expect to receive your images between 6 and 8 weeks after your wedding.

ENGAGEMENT EXPERIENCE Unless you’re a model, being photographed probably feels a little awkward. We do this for a living and we still always feel a little out of place when we have our photos taken
The Radian Engagement Experience solves this. We have designed this time to allow you to get comfortable in front of the camera .and capture who you truly are as a couple It takes time for most couples to warm up to being photographed, which is why our engagement experience is not just one or two hours. We help you structure your time to create images that are uniquely you and help you remember the beauty of your relationship for years to come. Our ultimate goal for our time together? We want nothing more than for you to have time together, soaking in this season of your lives, and hope you leave this session feeling even more in love. All of our collections include these sessions because we believe so strongly in them!

FAQ
Fantastic! To reserve your wedding date, we’ll need a completed contract and a non-refundable retainer. If you don’t have a contract yet, just let us know and we’ll send one over! The remaining balance will be due 1 month before the wedding. Do you shoot film or digital? We are hybrid photographers and depending on the light, we will use both digital and film mediums. Film is the medium that inspired us to begin photographing weddings. We love it’s classic look, warm colors, and the ability to make even the most simple moments feel beautiful and timeless. All rolls of film are sent to a professional lab to be developed and scans. All images are delivered digitally as jpegs on an online gallery. How many photos do your galleries typically include and can we print the photos ourselves? Galleries typically include anywhere between 50-60 photos per hour that we shot. The exact amount varies from wedding to wedding. Your online gallery will come loaded with fully-edited high resolution images you can print anywhere, but we also make it simple to order prints, canvases, and albums directly from the gallery. You’re also welcome to share your wedding photos on Facebook and Instagram but we love it when our clients tag us! When do you charge travel fees? We typically add travel fees on to any wedding outside of a 25 mile radius from our home in Durham, North Carolina. Fees vary depending on location so ask us for more details!
