NATURE IN SPACE
SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY ABOUT THE DESIGN: The idea of the school has been reinterpreted as a playground, where the child is free to make discoveries as they explore their surroundings and is designed in a manner that they are more connected with nature. The rigidity of the structure is broken with curves that become guiding lines for movement. The wall that guides becomes flooring and continues into a furniture element. The material choice is restrained to adhere to a neutral colour palette with calming blues and greens. Natural elements such as plants and water features have been integrated to make the atmosphere more pleasing and calm. 6

The concept explored for designing is Biophilia, which means “love for nature”. Research suggests that Biophilic design can help reduce stress, enhance creativity and clarity of thought, improve our well-being and expedite healing. (Barton & Pretty, 2010).

POD
Concept was to achieve a flow within the space which self guides the visually impaired to circulate within the space.
SENSING THROUGH TACTILITY ABOUT THE DESIGN: The POD is 1:1 Scale Installation design done in a public space for visually impaired people for interaction. Our real client was Blind Peoples Association - BPA, Ahmedabad. The model prototype was tested with students from BPA and many interactive sessions were held to conceptualize the design. It was a hands on material studio and the installation was entirely made by students. Digitalizing clay model to create form 33
