The heritage and the landscape that surround us are a source of ideas and motivation for the future but also a major concern when it comes to creating and maintaining a sustainable urban and architectural development. Being often in direct contact with nature, I have become more aware of the environmental dimension of architecture and urbanism, making the close combination of architecture / urban planning and nature a primary preoccupation and a personal goal.

The project addresses the following question: Why can’t we create a symbiosis between our constructions and their original environment in the urban Moroccan context? “Levitation” is a symbolic expression of the barrier between Moroccan urban planning and nature that cannot merge to create a homogeneous unity. The model is made of two independent parts linked by a recessed volume. The lower block, on the ground, is entirely vegetated and represents a still-life. It is overhung by a mirrored volume supporting a massive block, symbolizing the compact groupings of buildings that occupy a large part of the Moroccan urban territory. The reflections of the intermediate block give the illusion that the upper volume is levitating on the lower volume.

The Army Museum is a place where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of war. Evoking the idea of death, the project is located on a circular platform that descends one meter from the ground level, and a large part of the functions (reception, workshops, exhibitions, amphitheater, administration ...) are placed underground. The ground floor is used for shops and restaurants, in addition to the outdoor space where vehicles used during the wars are displayed. The functions on the lower level of the museum are organized around a large hall with a tree at the center, around which visitors can rest and / or chat. The tree, rising into the sky from 6m below the ground, expresses the idea of​​ life after death, contrasting with the rigid and sad aspect of the concrete that dominates the whole project. Unlike the rest of the museum, whose orthogonal outline symbolizes order and perfection in death, the walls of the exhibition halls are disordered , alluding to the anarchy of the battlefield.

The Maze House is a house for a couple of artists located on the edge of a dam. The features of the natural environment was the main source of inspiration for the project. The house, which should constitute not only a living space but also a work space for its owners, is divided into two parts which however remain connected. The openings in the “living” part are large and create a continuous vision of the landscape, while in the “working” part, the considerably smaller openings give a framed view by limiting it relatively so as not to be a source of distraction for the users.

The “living” area is accessible from the ground level and leads to a terrace from which it is possible to go on to the apartment, or to a staircase leading to the upper terrace, which connects the two parts of the house. The “work” area can be accessed either by the terrace on the upper floor through a bay window, or by a staircase located outside, which leads directly to a glazed corridor from which it is possible to access the reception/meeting room for clients and collaborators, and to the workshop.

Towards Knowledge is a high school campus that can host up to 160 students. It is inspired by the belief that personality is constructed by the acquisition of two essential skills: Knowledge through education, and wisdom through observation. In other words, each individual experience is called upon to forge knowledge, wisdom, and, therefore personality. Thus, the project consists of 2 main axes, one devoted to teaching and sports, zhile the other is reserved for food and leisure, which converge to meet at a circular building used as a library and auditorium. As to the dormitories, they have been conceived differently and freely.

As public spaces and facilities are scarce in Sala Al Jadida, it was important to design spaces which could benefit the inhabitants without interfering with student life. The project therefore includes green spaces for relaxation and strolling, in addition to a direct passage from Technopolis to Sala Al Jadida so as not to obstruct the already existing pedestrian traffic. It also includes a library and a multi-sports building which will be accessible to the inhabitants only at specific times of the week.

The concept of this kiosk revisits traditional Moroccan architecture with a square or rectangular patio by fragmenting the regular forms, giving them a more contemporary tone and freeing two acces ways to the “patio� from the outside. Unlike in traditional architecture where the courtyard is only accessible from inside the building, here the courtyard leads to the buildings. The project consists of two covered spaces, the first comprising a small exhibition gallery and a reading space while the second is a small food court. The volume of the project rises to various heights so that the highest part, at the north-west, mitigates the prevailing winds to protect the patio. The rainwater is collected by the green roof on one side and by the central basin on the other and is used, together with phyto-purification recycled wastewater, for watering the plants. The rammed-earth walls ensure good thermal inertia and have openings that create a natural, smooth ventilation that provides a permanent thermal comfort in the building. Finally, the energy needed for the building comes mainly from the solar panels on inclined the roof.
