RUANG SEGENAP : City Park Pavillion Academic Works Architecture Design Studio I (2017) Tutor : Indah Widiastuti S.T., M.T. A lot of parks showed up recently in Bandung to add more public spaces while still being green. Yet, not all of these supposed public spaces have a decent facilities to accomodate most of the public activities. Ruang Segenap, designed for Taman Lansia, is a city park pavillion that hopefully can solve those problems.

Retention Pool

Thermal Buffer Zone

Pilotis

Placed on the lowest point of the site for the purpose of water runoff. The pool gathered the rainwater, helping the infiltration process, so that zero run-off condition could be fulfilled.

Thermal Buffer Zone (in this case was the corridor and the balcony) prevents heat from the sun from directly getting into the room by absorbing the radiation before it finally spreads into the room.

The void created by implementing pilotis to the building supports the air flow in the area. Also, it was used for retail purposes and communal areas.

Underfloor Air Distribution

Courtyard

Trombe Wall

A air distribution system that utilize the space between structural floor slab and the floor finishing. This system helps on increase the thermal comfort of the room. It also increase the ventilation eficiency by pushing the fresh air from under the floor which later will spread and move upwards, pushing the hot air out in its process.

Besides adding more green zones into the site, the courtyard with the water fountain helps in cooling the area with convective cooling. Also, it can be used as a communal space and recreation area for the students.

Integrated inside thermal buffer zone, trombe wall acts as a heat source in nighttime through passive solar heating. The wall absorbs the heat from the sun in daytime which was released in nighttime.
