January 2013

Welcome back. I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas, I wish you all a very Happy New Year. I would like to thank everyone for the very generous gifts you sent to myself and the staff before Christmas – it was very kind and greatly appreciated. School Website Our school website is now up and running - a very big thank you to Mr Rafferty for all his hard work. There are aspects of the site we are still developing so please be patient with us! The staff have all been involved in training to ensure we can all use the class blogs effectively. You can access the site at www.greenparkschool.org.uk The teachers would love you to visit the class blogs and post a message. I hope this will be the last mass paper copy of my newsletter as I will be posting them and all class correspondence on the website as we try to reduce our carbon foot-print by reducing paper as much as we can. I intend to regularly post a newsletter within the first and final week of each half term. I will place alerts on the homepage when they are being added - once I have learned how to do this, all help gratefully received!! We will be seeking feedback on the site contents in the coming weeks through online questionnaires. If there are any families who will not be able to access the website please let the school office know so we can ensure you receive paper copies. The website will be used to communicate any emergency messages relating to school. This may be put into action tomorrow if the predicted snowfall comes our way!!! So please check my blog if you are unsure whether school will be open if we have heavy snowfall. Friends of Green Park Please look out for meeting dates. Following the coffee morning in December it was decided to organise an Easter Fair for the children. This will take place within the

school day. We will need lots of help both in the planning stage and on the day. Mrs Derby will contact you with meeting dates. Mrs Reed Mrs Reed will not be with us for a few weeks after having a nasty fall from a ladder last weekend. She is now recovering well from a broken leg!!! Miss Robinson and Mrs Burns will cover Year 3 on Wednesdays and Mrs Brooks will cover the rest of Mrs Reed’s teaching commitment. We wish her well and hope to see her back in school after half term. I will keep you up dated on her progress through my blog. Finally, enjoy the snow if we are lucky enough to see some over the weekend.
